wow! u actually make it seem so easy to do, I'm a lil nervous to take it apart, feels like I might not know how to put together again,😆
Just take your time and observe how it came apart, taking pictures helps also and just take your time on reassembly everything should be smooth, wish you luck and thanks for watching hope I could help
I did the same and was frustrated ASF 😭😭 It really was a hard job and I am only 15. The engine wasn't able to stick to the bikes chassis right so I had to bend it and now the screws won't go in 😢😮💨🤬@@dirtinburton3301
@@jakeshonda5826 just make sure you find the timing mark on the cam sprocket and head and keep the flywheel on the tdc mark lined up with the mark on the case and it pretty easy
Thank you for your time, one minute had me done in ten minute's. You do chainsaws too?lol. Great video 🧐
thank you so much couldnt get the top end off now i have i was like what is going on
Glad I could help you out, if ya ever have any issues just go to one of my videos doesn’t matter which one and send me a comment I’ll try to help you, Thanks for watching
Install the brand new pre owned piston😂
I need a cigarette after this. Good loard
The gaskets in the head have gone allowing oil to get into the head causing smoke and another thing is if the petrol too rich
It's rings, on your piston you have 2 rings, oil ring and compression ring, if your rings wear out, it allows oil to pass in-between the rings into the cylinder making it smoke, what your thinking of is when you have a faulty head gasket which wouldn't make sense in this situation since its not a watercooled bike.
@@remady5827 If the head gasket is fucked then oil that normally would go to the camshaft gets in your cilinder. So it does make sense. Ofcourse worn out rings will also cause it to smoke.
I took the top end of my engine off and now when I put it back together the timing chain seems to be too short to fit the timing chain sprocket back on the cam shaft. Any idea what could have gone wrong and how I can get it to reach again?
On the bottom of the engine closest to the left side (shifter side) there is a bolt it’s kind of slanted the other bolt on the bottom is the oil drain plug the slanted one if you take it out it has a spring and plunger which is the cam chain tensioner take out the bolt install the cam chain and make sure it’s in time and everything is bolted back down then reinstall the spring, plunger and bolt should be good to go, hope this helps
@@dirtinburton3301 Thanks, I’ll try this out tonight after work. I really appreciate the help!
Hi mate my yx140 is getting extremely hot. Do u know why this is, seem to have tuned but definitely doesn’t feel as powerful either, is this a sign of a rebuild or could I just need to get the carb tuned better
It’s most likely a lean condition if it’s getting hot, A lean condition can be caused by a number of things including, Valve clearance incorrect, jetting to small, restricted air intake, carb not adjusted properly, and I’m not sure if your yx140 has an oil cooler but if it does it may be a factor as well, if it does it could not be getting enough flow. The lines could have a blockage or the cooler itself not letting the oil flow and cool properly, but most likely it’s just one of the things I mentioned first, hope this helps
@@dirtinburton3301 I did think might be carb adjustment, can’t ever temper it getting that hot to touch, , I’ve never had the oil cooler off since bought 8 month ago, but that feels hot but not burning to touch while engine is steaming, exhaust hasnt glowed from what I’ve noticed, think gonna get out bike and rebuild top end , and replace a few things
Is there a cam tensioner you have to loosen?
There is a bolt under the engine (more to the left) the center one is the oil drain plug, but unscrew the one to the left and it holds in a spring to tension the cam chain you don’t really have to remove it but it makes getting the cam gear and chain on easier I don’t usually remove them
where did you get your kit te replace it all
I took the good parts out of an engine that was good but was an automatic version the top ends are the same, but eBay or Amazon sells rebuilt kits for really cheap
i put in on tdc but the cam gear is always one tooth up or one tooth down it doesnt want to line up dead on.
You might have a stretched timing chain causing it to not align correctly or you might be accidentally moving the crankshaft while installing the timing chain
@@dirtinburton3301 i changed the timing chain, it still doesnt line up, its just barely on it, but i read that it doesnt affect it too much and people run it like that anyways, im dealing with bogging issues so im replacing the carb, i thought it was timing but ig it wasnt
How did you install the cam sprocket? The tensioner is too tight for me to get sprocket/chain on
I usually take a flat head screw driver and put it in the small round hole push it forward and pop it on but If you can’t do that there is 2 bolts on the bottom of the engine one is the oil drain plug and the other is a timing chain tensioner it has a spring in it take the bolt out the spring will fall out then you can install the timing chain and cam gear after that just put in the spring and the bolt
How do I know if it's top dead center bud
There will be a T on the flywheel that indicates top dead center that T will align with alittle outward dimple notch on the case (kind of like an upside down triangle) after you got that just make sure the dimple on the cam sprocket is facing toward the front of the engine and aligns with the top of the head and you should be in time ( hope this helps) thanks for watching
How did you find the replacement for the piston?
Just about all of the Chinese 110cc engines are the same I happen to have a parts engine I took the piston out of I would just take out your piston and search on eBay for a piston for the make and model of your bike and match it up with the pics to make sure it looks the same
And you don’t have to drain the oil technically if you slightly lift the front end of the bike it shouldn’t drain out but I always recommend an oil change after a rebuild
Could of big bored it when your that deep into the engine, 4strokes scare me because of the timing iv never been brave enough to strip one lol
Timing is easy, I’d rather rebuild a 4 stroke than a 2 stroke, as long as you have the tdc mark lined up on the flywheel and your cam lobes are facing downward and the cam gear marks line up parallel with the head your in time
4am be like babe I am board I am going to go fix something
Right🤣 100%
