You can plant out Sweetpea seedlings and overwinter them, or sow them in early spring under glass and plant them out late spring. There is no benefit in planting them in November compared to spring next year because they won't grow any over winter.
Correct. Sweet peas do much better fall planted in this climate. They are rurally hardy and will bloom much earlier compared to spring planted sweet peas that can die from early heat.
Brie I wasn't aware that you started snapdragons now. I missed something I am totally confused I was under the impression that you started snapdragons excetera and other beautiful flowers in the early spring such as February or March. Can you please help me with this?
If you sow Snapdragons in fall, you need to over-winter them under bright lights in a warm place, otherwise they will go leggy. If you don't have light boxes, you are best to sow in spring once the soil has warmed up, but remember they are biennial, so you will get flowers in two years, not the first year.
Here in zone 7 and warmer snap dragons grow all winter, outside. They won’t need to come inside- I don’t do any indoor seeding at all. It’s important to remember I live in a warm climate and am not giving verbatim instructions for people living in “the north”. But if you are in the southeast snap dragons do great as a cool season flower.
Hi Brie! 😊💖👋🌸🐝🦋🌻
Good for you!!
nice plant....
FANTASTIC! I'm really looking forward to this series of seed starting as I'm trying my hand at this year! Thanks 😊
Can the sweet peas and snapdragons be started indoors under grow lights and then plant outside in the fall? Or is it better to just do it all outside?
Yeah they can be fine indoors but there isn’t any benefit to that.
Exciting! Looking forward to giving pansies a try. Are pests the reason you’ve decided to purchase cabbage as plants?
looking good...
Ok. Time to follow Brie’s lead in the greater Fuquay metro area. Hi Brie my gin fizz tomatoes are going like gang busters
Mine too!!! They are my most beautiful plants!!!!!
So for the sweet peas...you will plant well rooted transplants in November and let them overwinter? I am also in 7b near Cville. Thanks!
I'm also wondering this very thing!

That is not true at all. Here in zone 7 I only plant sweet peas in the fall snd they bloom in April.

They did from the heat and humidity here so they need to fall planted.

Not here. Remember I live in zone 7. All these plants thrive outside through the winter.
@@BrieThePlantLady - sorry I didn't realise you were in a warmer zone.
