- These nice folks are full time RVers. They are staying and volunteering in the NEW RIVER GORGE NATIONAL PARK for the summer and they had trouble with their Schwintek slide room. It was stuck in and they were really having a hard time using the RV with the room in. I was completely blindsided by what I found.

Good Morning. Sorry I will be out of the country. Canada !! Jack PS Love the show.
The trick to keeping a schwintek slide system working is ensuring your motorhome has a leveling system. So many times the slide is pulled out when the coach isn’t level at all, and that beats the living snot out of these systems. If your coach is level, the wall should slide in and out on its rollers with ease, no stress and last a long time.
THANK YOU AGAIN!!!! For the shout out... You are the best. We were wondering what was going on, we have had over 50 subscribers in the last 2 days...... you are a beast... we love you. expect a call from us soon and I can't wait to see you in PA..
It’s going to be a good time.
Push the room out about a foot, disconnect the H-track by removing the screws from the outside wall. Push the room out some more and the H-track, motor, gears, and driveshaft will pop out from behind the rubber seals.
Go to RV Works with Darren. He has great Schwintek videos!
@@46fd04 nice tip
What about pulling the motor and H column from outside?
There is a piece of metal trim inside that has to come off. I can't get to it.
That Brinkley video showed a nice unit. (They and others) are having recalls for low voltage wiring issues. Brinkley is being proactive and taking care of the customers. I respect that.
Might spray the guide track slot (not the gear track) with CRC Powerlube with PTFE.
Outwall you say, I'd say the term Outlaw is more appropriate for the manufacturer.
Ha ha
I can see where the extra room would be wonderful if I had it, but seeing the kinds of trouble you can have with these slides... I'm completely happy with my 82 pr-slide class c motorhome. It's everything I need, and none of the problems I don't ever want to have.
Couldn’t finish watching your livestream last night because I was on a job. Congratulations on 5 years in YT.
Thanks
In wall , out wall , outrageous !!! 👍🇨🇦✌️🇨🇦✌️🇨🇦🔧🔧
Tony's video on the Brinkley was excellent. I enjoyed the walkthrough from his perspective!
I did too
Nice video. I wonder if the screw that holds the motor down backed out. Terrible access.
I’ll be curious to the outcome of this one. We have a 2023 Thor Quantum KW29, which is almost identical to this one. The engine must be running, and parking brake set to operate either side. Looking at mine a couple of days ago, I wondered if the outside rubber seal could be removed to gain access to the motor. It’s pretty wide, and is attached with rivets. I can lift the seal back, and can see the motor.
Nope. You can't access the motor that way.
Another reason why I sold my Vegas, I got scared of that type of system
Morning Kenny that might be dangerous taking Mrs hillbilly to Hershey you may come home with a rv lol 😮good video
Only if someone is giving one away
Also, look at the bottom of the slide out and see if there are rollers installed. Apparently some motorhome RV's don't have rollers.
With the room out you can take the frame out to get to the motor. Big pain.
Where can we found Tony’s Brinkley ( tech side) video
UA-cam
Your friends in the RV business
You would think they would install access panels.Guess not on this coach
I had one with to small a screw. The motor popped out. I places the motor back in place from outside and put in a longer screw.
Shame you can't go get the engineer that design this RV, and let him show you how to get that motor out !
hmmmmmm
That doesn’t look like any fun. Any access if you pull the Microwave out? Thanks for the Videos, Kenny.
Nope. Solid wall
Manufacturers need to be held accountable for inaccessible building of units.
That would be nice.
@@russellfogg7800 Acess to plumbing, appliances (furnace, water heater), electrical stuff and slides is always on my mind when I look at an RV. Unfortunately I don’t think enough shoppers look at that when making a buying decision, or it would force certain makes to do better.
@@JeffinTD I do also. But none are anywhere's close to being accessible there's always something. I could tell you nightmare horror stories, of shop saying need to tear down the ceiling to get to bad wiring, just to find out it was a fuse not plugged in all the way. Hydraulic lines going through drilled holes and frames cutting the hydraulic lines. I think these people need to be held accountable.
It's a THOR...geeze!
The schwintek system is something else. Defiantly no room to pull the motor out. Don
This is exactly why I would never buy a unit with a schwintek slide
You can access the motor from the outside. Nothing wrong with Schwintek what you have is a poor motorhome design. Clearly designed by an engineer who never has to work on motorhomes. I would hazard a guess that the coupling has come apart. The drive shaft runs down all the way the side of the slid-out. Remove the cover seal on the outside with the slide-out half way out. You'll see if the coupling screw has come adrift. If the coupling is secure there is no way you can push that slide in or out. It will also explain why the motor is not faulting out.
Hope he try this

@@lorenrickey5481 Lippert have great training modules on their website - Lippert Technical Institute.
Did you ever figure out?
I am not going to tackle it
It appears like you've been attacked by engineers!
Ha ha
AWOL system
Like to know what you found out... Were you able to fix it or did they have to take it to a dealer?
They are going to use it as is for the rest of the summer.
Coming up my way to Hershey which is 20 minutes from me.
Cool
From the outside.
Nope
