- The rise in knife crime in London has been described as an epidemic, destroying lives and leaving communities living in fear.
With recorded incidents at the highest recorded level since records began, the police, local and national Government seem at a loss about what to do.
In this film, BBC News reports on one hospital that has bucked the trend - and reduced readmission rates from 45 percent to just 1 percent.
Over the course of several months, BBC News has followed teenage stab victims from the operating theatre, through to their rehabilitation, to see the impact of knife crime on them, their families and communities.

My son was stabbed and died. There are so many aspects to knife crime. Safeguarding with schools, social services, police, families and the community.

I will never forget one day at my already rough and tough East London school we were told to be welcoming 7 new children from Somalia. We lined up in the morning to welcome them and within an hour they let us all know they were TOOLED UP! The parents had provided them all with those weapons. We were 11 years old!!!! We were standing there with welcome pictures. The corner shop guy got slashed for not allowing them to take snacks and drinks. I understand we welcome people straight from war torn countries but some serious filter and intense education for the whole family needs to happen before we just put people in a daily situation who are in violent fight mode. Tribes would refuse to line up with other tribes and the children were willing to fight for the death being encouraged by proud on looking parents. I just remember the younger children having lots of scars on their little faces and pushing to grab and always had to be first. They were traumatised but really hated us so very hard to be understanding.
The place with the most foreigners has the highest amount of knife crimes. Who would have thought...

The unpalatable truth is that some communities seem to have a much higher level of committing crimes against others, committing crimes against members of their own community and also having a higher level of crime being committed against themselves.

2) the issue isn't just in London, it's happening around the UK - this issue is systemic, not just poor policy in London. You want to change this then I suggest you look towards the national government.

Immigration to the UK has been falling since about 1990, and as with most arguments across the political spectrum correlation does not imply causation, so your argument is quite inconclusive. However, let's assume that there is some causation involved and assume that the increased numbers of immigrants in the UK has increased crime rates. Look at what neighbourhoods and areas these people typically live in. They typically live in segregated communities because they feel safer and more comfortable that way, leading to sentiment against others - but what caused this in the first place? I believe that our negative attitudes and mistreatment of migrant workers has resulted in less diversification and more hateful sentiment on both sides - essentially by treating them like trash we cant expect them not to turn to crime in response. The solution to this is diversification - if we close the borders what does that say to everyone already here? You mark my word that if immigration continues to be a hot subject crime rates will continue to rise if you make the assumption that it is linked to immigrants.

Regardless of what one attributes the disproportionate violence among black and Asian gangs to, one has to accept that all demographics are not the same and to shout _"RACIST!"_ every time someone expresses concern is childish and ignorant. The majority of those polled across Europe want immigration either majorly restricted or even stopped. It is one thing to have mass immigration from European countries, where the immigrants at least share cultural and religious values, but another to have mass immigration from countries with radically different, arguably incompatible cultures and religions that are also often hostile to Western culture.
Leftists, please recognise that those opposed to mass immigration are not necessarily driven by bigotry, but a genuine love for their culture and values and a rational fear of losing them.
Can't help compare it to gun violence here in the US. I don't think the underlying causation is all that different but the mortality rate here is higher I would think because of the weapon used, and incidents are spread widely across the nation's cities. Still, a knife attack to me feels more vicious and a lot more personal.

He speaks about how society has failed these boys and their parents but the boys and their parents are also a part of society so they do bear some responsibility as well. Also he goes on to say that all of the boys are victims instead of preparators but it would seem to be the case that some have been on the receiving end of violent acts AND carried out acts of violence too.

Modern society isn`t capable of raising children the right way, neither the parents nor the teachers at school. Integrating foreigners is a foreign term for most Western leaderships. Poor/poorer and/or immigrant children live on the edge of society just like they`ve always done in history.
There are ways out of this mess but it has to be done rightly and at the beginning of a child`s life. Once haterade and despair poisoned mind and soul, it`s too late.
I disagree as this issues is complex & has many factors to it. If you have parents that are working every hour they can to pay the bills & live may not have grown here so do not have the insight of the society their child is growing.
