Thank you for sharing your story. When me and a buddy was traveling around hitting various pool halls, we never spoke about our ability, we never talked about money, we only rode with each other and we always dressed in standard apparel. It also helped that my main playing cue was a sneaky pete. Whatever you can do to survive, do it.

My takeaway, don’t get drunk with strangers and talk about your gambling success. Enjoyed the story, glad my man didn’t get killed!

I’ve often wondered how a revolver would jam and if it was ever really even loaded. The move to act like it jammed would probably scare anyone enough to give the money up so who knows. One things for sure, revolvers rarely jam so I got lucky I guess

You know Scott, sometimes I'm torn between thinking you're an alright guy, or a bit of a narcissist... (possibly a mix of both since none of us are all good or all bad).
Either way I'm certainly glad you didn't get killed and I have very much enjoyed your contributions to my favorite passion - pool.
      Take Care.

Scott is the man! Treated us real nice when we stopped at Freezer's in 2017 on our way to Hawaii. We're from Delaware.
Stopped over in AZ for Kitt Peak and Freezer's!

Hi Scott, are there still road players/pool hustlers traveling the road in today’s time, or is it more of a thing of the past? Just curious. A lot of what I read and hear from other pros say pool is dead in that area of the game. Is that true? Thanks again, glad you are still with us. Be good, later

1st of all... the idea that Christians aren't allowed to have a negative or disapproving opinion is a major misconception based purely in ignorance only revealing said individual has no idea about the scriptures and some of the things that even Jesus himself said & did (try actually reading it for yourself).
Now of course overall kindness & grace is the preferred route, but your idea of "judgment" and how it incorporates itself into scripture is just simply way off base, period.
Lastly, I never even said I was certain of my opinion (in fact I specifically said otherwise) ..along with the fact I was very polite in how I spoke.
All that to say get off your fake horse, ain't nobody here pretending their perfect... never have and I never will be.

Why do you have to be such a fragile snowflake who comes undone just bcuz somebody respectfully holds a different opinion than you? What if the people you didn't care for, I did... I wouldn't lose my shit just bcuz we have differing opinions.
And I'll tell you this, I have never said a single negative word about him to anybody in person or online or anywhere... so at least I had the balls & the integrity to respectfully state my opinion to him directly... I'm sure he would at least respect that.
And again, I wasn't even adamant about my opinion, I left it open to be wrong and if I'm wrong that's fantastic... I am not against humanity in any way.
Now respectfully I am through with this exchange - Take care.

My two best friends and I were regulars at the horse tracks in the mid Atlantic region. We would often be approached by patrons asking us how we did today."We would always reply lost again today."We would never gloat or draw attention to ourselves when we made a big score.""The most important thing we did was always drive and leave together. We has a saying among us "Never feed the cat, because he would always come back for more".

first off u shouldnt be drinking alot or buzzed up when hustling in a bar--second u should have backup meaning a friend with muscle or a gun who poses as a stranger---finally u NEVER tell anyone u are loaded with dough--its a sure way to get yourself killed fast.........and while it may seem ok to gamble at any bar, there are many with some rough customers so choose with discretion........this comment isnt directed to anyone in particular, just good advice based off experience........

Yeah, I don't like to criticize someone after they have survived such a violation, but I'd rather learn from their mistakes and save myself some trouble. Like you said, there were several layers to this.

    ● ● Scott: "People will rob you for $5".
That reminds me of a UA-cam video I saw once.
A guy from "the hood" was doing an interview. He said, "Where I come from, if you got 20-dollars, and that guy over there doesn't have any money, he's gonna come over to get your 20-dollars! That's just the way it is."
