GO Fest 2022 is THE BEST Pokemon GO Event Ever

- The yearly Go Fest Event is always the biggest event in Pokémon Go. This year, for the first time ever, I decided to play the worldwide Go Fest out of my own country, Singapore, instead, to play in it in The Philippines. After purchasing a ticket and getting a chance to capture the brand new Mythical Pokémon, Shaymin, I carried on to catch as many Pokémon as I could during the 8 hours long event.
Join me as I travel, eat and play Pokémon GO the way a local trainer would in their own country and city. Visiting one country and one city at at time through Pokémon GO.

Personally, this was one of the most underwhelming and lacklustre event

I got 20 shinies after 8 hours of playing and after 80+ legendary checks combined me and my friends got no shiny legendaries

Out of all the previous go fests this felt like the worst. Grinded for 8 hours and had paid for ticket and only 2 shinys and they are old ones

Absolutely. You want shiny’s to be rare. However if those of us who paid $15 for a ticket to get boosted shiny rates and didn’t really experience that, it’s disappointing. Shiny rate was 1/100 for myself today. 600 catches and 6 shiny. Not great.

Legitimately the worst event in pogo history. Both my brother and I walked 15km, 500+ Pokémon caught, and ONE shiny between the two of us (yes we bought tickets). Niantic needs to give us a makeup event or something cause this is ridiculous

I’ve got to disagree with you Brandon. Go fest is usually a hard grind for shiny. This year it was just a beat down. My gf and I caught nearly 1500 with 7 total shiny

Played for 6 hours straight and 0 shinies... this was literally the WORST event EVER. Not to mention the incense bugs, and crappy spawns.. The Pokemon spawns in general were so underwhelming.

For sure! The fact that you got a chance at three legendary shiny dogs was better then this whole event. Kinda sad because I took a 5 year break from this game and this was my 1st go fest and I feel kinda let down.

I played the whole 8 hours, caught 1257 pokemon, caught 11 shiny's and 7 of them were com day, didn't get any of the new shiny pokemon! Did 47 axew raids and no shiny either, very underwhelmed.
i did like 4 axew raids and about 5 axew checks and got a shiny!
I also played for the 8 hours of the event and I caught 1952 pokemon including raids and I got 6 shinies, all COM DAY shinies. This event sucks.
I had similar luck with the shinies… (caught 1232 and 9 shinies, 1 ran away)
I did about 35 axew raids and no shinys. And on the second day I had like 2 axews spawn from incense. Just pain
Yeah, this years go fest was kind of a scam. The shiny odds felt even worse than last year, only got 12 shinies after over 2000 pokemon caught. And most of the shinies i got were the higher boosted odds ones, like weezing, klink, etc. Love the shirt though.

Just finished in the uk! 9 shinys but the event was a mess, glitching, lack of shinys and the spawns were bad. I think johto tour was better waste of money this year :(

It might just be me but I feel like the shiny odds were better the past few years. I played for 6 hours in a downtown area and got 0 shinnies.

I disagree with your statement BrandonTan the shiny rate was really low during this event. It is not the best Go Fest ever.
I thought it was just me not getting any Shiny's but reading through the comments it looks like everyone for the most part had a similar experience which is a sham considering how much we were charged to play the event. The news release mentions the shiny odds were higher on Saturday versus Sunday so tomorrow will probably be worse than today. The main bonus was getting regional Pokémon I've never had the chance in catching before with Torkoal and Tropius and finally getting an Axew after hatching dozens and dozens of purple eggs without any successes. Very disappointed right now considering the hype from Niantic on this event.
Can’t believe I paid for this event to be honest, definitely not worth paying for, will be making a complaint to niantic if tomorrow isn’t better..
yeah well 5 hours in so far a zero shiny pokemon. defo not the best for me so far, well over a 1000 pokemon caught so far and nothing. plus i actually purchased the ticket too

Event Rating: 2.5/10. If Niantic’s goal was to have the community get back outside and play. It did not work. The community and area I usually play at had hundreds of members that come out to play for these events. Today, about a dozen or so came out to play. During that time, 7 of us played from 10am-4pm and a few others who did the full 8hrs. Most of us got 2-10 shinies. Many were repeats or comm day shinies. I wish there was more variety than just shiny hunting the same old set Pokémon. It felt really forgotten about and rushed, and I feel Niantic is pooling their resources for the in person Go-Fests… like Seattle and Singapore. And I dont think I or many of us will be paying or doing these events in the future. The excitement and thrill is gone. It feels like Niantic just wants us to pay as much as possible for the rarer shinies like Axew. Which I know is a rare spawn, but having only 4-5 spawn from incense/lures is INSANELY LOW. Anyone else feeling defeated?

Only caught ONE shiny out of the entire 8 hours I've walked, drove, and jogged around the whole county I live in on the East Coast of the USA.
Sad. However, I did catch a decent Tropius for Ultra League, so that's alright. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better for me.
The only one's that benefit from GO Fest are youtubers with alot of time and money
Oh my god. Im not the only one I only got 1 shiny in the span of 4 hours and in go fest 2021 was like 100 times better not only the shiny luck, the rewards and spawns AND RHE PRICE

These past few weeks on this channel and with Pokemon GO have been extremely questionable. Let's be real, this Go Fest has been a total bust for veterans and especially Shiny Hunters. Hardly any incentive to go and buy a pass, and the fact the Saturday and Sunday raids are kinda crap except Kyogre, Groudon (both of who are already going to be in raids this month), Axew and Salamance; there's not much to do except paying $15 for regionals you could easily just trade for.

Mmm, easily tradable is a stretch tbh. But I didn’t even think about the raids being nothing crazy. Makes you think about all the legendaries we had last year to raid for. Overwhelming kinda but very cool
@@k.b.5079 It didn't need to be that many, but I think having a few like what happened in 2020 would have been nice. To be fair, it is always a win to see Groudon and Kyogre come to raids, but I hope that in the future we also get more choices that will help diversify the days. I've always thought it would be best to have 5 Go Fest days so that each day could be dedicated to certain Legendary Pokemon.

This event was a god damn atrocity. I played for all 8 hours with incense and the ticket and got no shinies at all. The only thing I got worth a damn was a regular 98 axew. Shaymin is completely useless due to it's fast moves. Niantic needs to fire every one of these lying weasels and rebuild their team from the ground up. We as a community need to stand up and show these f#$ktards that they cannot keep lying to us or this game will die. Voice your frustrations to them and heck, get Nintendo to threaten to revoke the permission to use the pokemon license because if this is the way things are gonna be going forward. People will leave in droves.

Probably checked over 1000 Pokémon, got three shinies.. my shaymin was also the worst possible IV. I got hundreds of candies for Larvitar and Axew though, so it wasn’t all bad!
Seems bad. But hey, maybe half of your glass is full. Got more than 30 shinys couse played hardcore mode. Most of my friends got 1 to 6, and they played fairly well. Dont think ppl I know are going to spend with these kind of events anymore

Today I was with some friends playing Pokémon go for 8 hours strait I started off with shiny slakoth! (Ticket buyer btw) I didn’t receive another shiny till the 5th hour in and ended with 17. I had a way better time just being with my friends than playing but it made the experience a bit better. Thank you for posting this video it made my day 10x better.

Because of this event I really get a pay to win vibe because I haven't bought the pass and I got 1 shiny and couldn't do anything because I didn't get more raid passes so this event was terrible

Im a little sad because i couldnt buy a ticket thingy so i dont think i can get shaymin (one of my fav pokemon) :( But im glad you guys are having so much fun! Even if i didnt get the ticket, my game was SO laggy and I barely caught anything because it all kept disappearing when i tapped on it. My game was breaking so much and it was disappointing.. Everyone seem to hate the shine rate but i got to say, I'm loving it. IMHO, it increases the value of every shiny and makes catching one double the excitement and getting one in a trade triple the appreciation for the person trading it to you. I am bored with catching 30-50 shiny in an event and ending up transferring all except 3-5 best ones because storage is precious, nobody wants it as a trade and taking one in a trade feels like charity.
Exactly, i only got 7 seven shinies and one hundo tropius but i find it better then 5 shinies from the same pokemon
Exactly. Why get several shinies of the same Pokémon? For example, after doing dozens of Rayquaza raids, I only got 1 shiny. That Rayquaza might not be a 4 star Pokémon, but that's my most valued shiny. Since I'm not a shiny hunter, any shiny I get has extra value, and makes that much more enjoyable when I get a shiny, especially when it's a new one.
But the point is almost everybody got way under 10 shinies but on the other side there are 5 new shinies.... almost everybody got old shinies and nothing new and all the new shinies are such rare mons in the wild and thats a joke
The only shiny ones I received were both from Kyogre raids (they were back to back raids). Horrible shiny drop rate from event itself for me.

Brandon, I wouldn’t call this is the best event of the year. Compare to last year and especially raid, no legendaries( not count Kyogre and Groundon) and we paid more. Season event is way better. 😂

I really enjoyed this event but probably because it’s my first ever go fest and first ever pokemon event were I’ve gone outside and spent most of the day with friends, also my local park had an ongoing event for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum jubilee anyway so even though usually no one ever does any raids here, there was a couple people playing throughout the park which made it a good day for me! :)

Ticket has nothing to do with shinies or wild spawns. I had ticket and played for 7 hours, got one shiny. My son also had a ticket and played for 7 hours and got 4 or 5.. Better than me, but still shit.
Also a friend and her son which both had tickets, ended on 0 for her and 1 for her son.

Her 96%iv Shaymin gave me luck to my 96% Machamp that I got from PvP. Like literally when her Shaymin's ivs were shown I appraised my Machamp too and it was a 96%
Played the full event with ticket. Only got 2 shiny weezings and 1 girafarig. So far not worth paying for.
This event was definitely lackluster. I was in a group of 3 and speed-catching the entire time. I got relatively lucky but they didn't. First day I had 12 shinies, but the rest of my group only got around 6. Second day I got 11 shinies, and between both days I got 5 shiny Pikachus which is absolutely crazy. Felt bad for my friends tho, they were jealous of my luck. The only cool thing was double xp and double stardust unlocks but other than that... people wanted cool pokemon and higher shiny chances... Niantic really messed up.

My favorite shiny catch of the day was larvitar! Still trying to get trapinch, axew, unknown, and as many more possible.
I bought the pass and played almost the full eight hours( I kept an 30 minutes lunch break which I used to raid also). After catching over thousand pokemon (which I think is pretty well from my grind spot). I only got nine shinies and none of the brand new shinies. I think the shiny boost from the pass should have been better. Last year when I played the shiny boost felt really good and I was happy of what I got even thought I didn't get all of the new shinies. I will also play tomorrow and I hope that there is some kind of boost or that I get lucky and catch some good shinies.

I was pumped when I saw 2X XP (and 2X dust) for raids. Dropped a lucky egg and got 40,000 XP (3,300 dust) for 5* raids, 5 raids per egg, three times!! Yep, a good event for XP, that’s what I’m willing to spend on. Some time ago there was a pre-covid 2x XP raid event and I ran all over the neighborhood to get to raids. Would LOVE to see that again.
I enjoy shiny mons but don’t hunt them, got 2 or three and loved getting some dex mons.
