I think this is the most beautiful and powerful track in the whole movie, such a shame it got cut! It's such a crucial moment for Mag's development as a character, it's the moment she makes up her mind and decides to take her destiny into her own hands. Besides Sarah Brightman's voice is absolutely stunning in this one

Not really, while yes it’s a haunting moment for Mag, she already made peace with the fact she’s going to die during at the opera tonight. To me personally, not having this scene gives a bit more ambiguity to what she meant by she’s gonna sing her final song. I would be curious to see where and how the deleted songs fit into the final cut though

If you listen closely, this track is in the final film at least. It plays in the background toward the beginning. Shame the scene got cut though

My theory: the studio didn't want the movie to be too long and it was a much smaller risk to take out a song that is sung in a foreign language and doesn't technically move the plot (although it is a great scene it isn't very important for the progress of the movie, unlike chromaggia which has a major plot point)
