i also love a lot of the remakes and rereleases even because it lets me play older games on new hardware and i dont have to go dig out my n64 or ps2 and fiddle with adapters etc. I really enjoyed RE2 and 4 remakes, as well as part 1 and 2 of ff7, even really like the paper mario/mario rpg remakes. Hell pikmin 1+2 being rereleased was a godsend, those original games are so expensive now.
I think it’s weird that Su tweeted that about SH2r was very strange considering most of her content is praising pretty much every RE remake. But I do love me some sphere hunter, she’s my fav gaming deep dive channel and her voice is relaxing and I’m a huge Capcom horror fan. But she sounded like she had some personal beef with the developers..
I love Spere hunter too And I don't want this video to come off as me hating her cuz That can be further from the truth My issue was that she tried to hide behind The idea that she's tired of remakes when reality she just don't want to play silent Hill 2 remake because she don't fuck with bloober team For how they handle certain subject matters regarding mental illness in the previous games which is fair But don't hide behind the idea that you're tired of remakes because if Dino crisis remake gets announced she's going to hop on it.
A remake here in There was fine but it’s the insane amount remakes is the problem A new game reinvigorates the fanbase just as much if not more and is also perfect place for modern audiences to join. Resident evil 4 (it’s original) and 7 exploded and reinvigorated series at the same time Capcom spent years n millions of dollars in assets remaking resident evils. The point it is they could of spent it on new games, so remakes do hold back studios new titles to some degree.. Again a massive amount Remakes are anti consumer in long run . your getting a rehash of a old game( story bosses enemies items etc already things you ve seen) . Your just getting less new stuff and this why companies love remakes and to a lesser extent sequels/prequels safe established ips where there’s less guess work/risk Those famous titles like mgs 123 only exist because they were making new titles . Imagine if they spent the entire ps2 life span remaking ps1-sega etc games. Instead of metal gear solid 2 they made metal gear 2 (the og 80s game) . These story’s and games have already been told. A remake here n there is fine but it’s Time Push forward like those developers did.
@@user-vc6 yeah I disagree like I said in a video I can understand where you guys are coming from If it were talking about naughty dog because those motherfuckers haven't put out anything new in quite a while and these remakes that they've been doing is taking out resources from other projects but for other studios who's doing remakes I just am not seeing that we're getting remakes plus a new entry into the titles so to me I'm fine with that. Not to mention a lot of these remakes in particular FF7r, re4r, both adds new gameplay story elements that has not been in the original so it's almost like you're getting a new experience.
The terrible things about these remakes tho is that the originals aren’t available and they aren’t being made available and it’s like these remakes are replacing the original classics. Like either you gotta pay over 100$ to get an OG copy of SH2 plus buy a PS2 or you emulate it. These games still have value. If you can’t play old games that’s on you. And I think that’s a very shallow way of looking at art that old games just have no value anymore Kuz they’re old. What “modern gamers” “want” is homogeneity, every game needs to play, look and control the exact same way and I’m saying this as someone who enjoys the new remakes too. But they shouldn’t replace the originals and those originals should be easily accessible. You know people still play these old games to this day. You say “modern audiences” as if all gamers have a singular expectation. People still play those old games, and it’s not just people who grew up with them who still play them.

The only one that is difficult is silent Hill 2 If you're trying to play it the illegal way but if you don't give a shit the PC port is literally right there And if you do care about the legal way you can go play the HD collection It's not ideal but that's if you care so much about playing it legit
