This was an excellent episode, thank you. The proximity to the shore reminds me of the Costa Concordia. There was a particular photograph of the half submerged wreck taken from a hill overlooking the incident site, which emphasised just how close to land it was...
Keep em coming. I look for your storytelling nearly every day. The fact that there's 350 wrecks just in that particular area sounds like you have a lot of material to cover
On Isle Royal at the Rock Harbor Lodge they actually have the ship wheel that was salvaged from this wreck (unless I’m mistaking it for another wreck on the Island). But it’s in the guest house and you can see it there.
In the conditions at the time with very limited visibility, I imagine that accurate navigation was incredibly difficult. Walking in a whiteout is hazardous enough. Doing it in the era of the wreck, on a boat, and being pushed by strong winds and waves when you don't know exactly where you are must have been terrifying. So, whilst it was probably due to navigational error, I don't see how you can blame the captain. 😢❤😢
What do you know? I frequently watch videos on your UA-cam channel. I've seen every one of your videos, and I really like your stuff. You taught me a lot of things. Despite having excellent content, your channel is not reaching the correct viewers because of SEO issues. To build a sizable fan audience, you should concentrate on your SEO.
Like I keep saying these stories are great, living in Michigan you always hear the same old stories but you have ones I've never heard. Keep up the great work!! 👍
@CWARZ23 appreciate it! Yes I agree. There are 3 ships I won't be doing on my channel, the Fitzgerald, the bradley, and the morrell. There's nothing I can add to those stories that hasn't already been said a hundred times. 😎
I appreciate how you pay attention to the obscure boats, some of which I don't know. Even better that some have been found.
Grew up in the Eastern UP, and I lived there for 29 years. and I learned about a shipwreck today! so thanks for that!
That's what I'm here for 😎

One of the first major losses on the Great Lakes, and on Lake Superior in particular.
It’s kinda suspicious that they cut the ship in half and then the ship ended up breaking in half in the storm ⛈️ 🤔
