I love ok computer and I LOVE kid a but I'd probably say my favourite Radiohead album would actually be the one peeping out of your vinyl collection behind you.
I honestly think In Rainbows is Radiohead's best album. The majority of their back catalogue is great, and Kid A is a close second for me, but my god, In Rainbows is so beautiful and complete as an album. The sounds are so rich, and every song just grabs me. I've always been a sucker for great lyrics, and with it being their most lyrical album, i guess it kind of makes sense! As always, thanks for the video! :)
I love In Rainbows so much. Probably my second favorite or tied with OK Computer for favorite. Didn't watch the whole video, but does he mention the In Rainbows record in the background or does it just sit there?
Apple O', Strawberry Jam, OK Computer, Dopethrone, Silent Shout, and Dopesmoker? Damn Anthony, you been shopping for my taste, those are all fucking classic.
Mod.Sound I could just picture Anthony and Cal huddled up togther on the couch with a box of tissues crying their eyes out during some of the more emotional parts.
They've discontinued the expedit and are replacing with a new, practically identical model, under a new name that is made of different material meant to cut down Ikea's use of wood. so just stick around for the new model...I forget what its called, but look it up!
Excellent update. I just bought the Misfits Collection 1 a few hours ago. Needed a vinyl rendition of "Skulls". Definitely going to check out Baby Huey now.
Elecky Wizz, yes! Easily their most iconic album - managed to see them live recently too, pretty good! And you can't go wrong with that "Dopesmoker" reissue, agreed on preferring that artwork to the original (I also have the t-shirt with that riff-list on the back).
I would love to see Deerhoof. They are so quirky and I know I can go into any of their albums weather I have listened to it of not and love it because they are just so fun every time around.
Just got the 2010 reissue of The Cure's Disintegration today. Beautiful gatefold, double LP, colorful sleeves to hold that 180 gram goodness too. Oh yeah and it sounds amazing.
I have 3 of that pile of vinyl in my collection: Dopethrone, Dopesmoker & OK Computer :) you forgot to show that the jacket of the Sleep's record is even printed in the inside. Wonderful.
Art Blakey! I'm not much of a jazz fan but def dig Art Blakey!. The Roots actually inspired me into early jazz after I became obsessed with "things fall apart" as well as early DJ Shadow. You can't beat Jazz on vinyl, I don't own much as far as jazz on any other format than vinyl
The Expedit model may be discontinued, but they instantly replaced it with the Kallax. The thicker side pieces are just a little thinner, and that's the only change. It comes in more colors.
That's my favourite Radiohead Album. Then Kid A and then Ok Computer. Ok Computer is great but it gets a bit samey for me. The entire album feels like it repeats itself a lot. Still an amazing record. Would like to hear what Fantano thinks of In Rainbows as well
@@pippo521 I know this question isn't directed to me, but since no one answered I'm dropping my top 3 here (yes I know the comment is 5 years old but I don't care): 1. Jigsaw Falling Into Place 2. Weird Fishes / Arpeggi 3. Bodysnatchers
For your shelves, a great option would be the brand USM Depends if their style suits you or not, but you can have almost any color you want, it´s all metallic and pretty classy actually
IKEA is not discontinuing this type of shelving, just that specific model. The new model will have exactly the same layout with the same internal bay dimensions, the main difference being that the all the edge pieces will now be the same thickness. KALLAX is the name of the new shelving, it really looks pretty much the same just uses a little less wood so is more earth friendly.
Some albums I highly recommend: Clear Blue Sky - self titled Nat King Cole - Love Is The Thing (fantastic LP for late-night listening) Lee Fields - Faithful Man Funkadelic - Let's Take It To The Stage Mordy Laye & The Group Modular - The Mystery Of Mordy Laye (a great slice of funky late night space electronica) Sharon Jones And The Dap Kings - I Learned The Hard Way LL Cool J - Mama Said Knock you Out Phil Collins - Face Value Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back Run DMC - Tougher Than Leather
THAT'S INSANE. I was thinking about great jazz albums and Sonny Rollins popped into my head then THE ALBUM I WAS THINKING ABOUT IS RIGHT THERE WOW HOW RARE CRAMPTANO COMES THROUGH AGAIN
Also, I agree with you, I loved Kid A a lot more compared to OK Computer. (It's actually my favourite album of all time!!) But OK Computer is still absolutely amazing.
Lovin that Ikea organizer. I don't think it was discontinued. I went to Ikea like 2 weeks ago and saw that exact one. My girlfriend got one in black but the red one was on display there.
OH MY GOD I AM SO JEALOUS OF YOU RIGHT NOW. Dopesmoker AND Dopethrone!? Those two albums are absolutely LEGENDARY stoner doom. GAH!!! Such good albums man. Congrats on picking them up.
I haven't started a record collection yet but recently I went thrifting with some friends and found a CD of Speakerboxxx/The Love Below for only two dollars! I couldn't pass it up.
I went to my local record store recently and by god. It was so friggin' hard to choose between Sunbather, The Velvet Underground & Nico, Honor Found In Decay, and the White Album. I hope to god that the other three are still there when I go back with enough money to get them.
Anthony- if you enjoy the sound of jazz on vinyl you should check out some of the audiophile double 45 LP's put out by Classic Records and other boutique labels. They're pricey but the sound is amazing.
The main jazz drummer you'd probably be thinking of is Max Roach. Major bebop player. Elvin Jones as well, kinda in Coltrane's shadow a lot.Tony Williams, Lenny White, and Billy Cobham maybe, more fusion than bop, though.
Hey, bro this is your best look. Facial hair + shaved head = dope. So when you see this comment and I know you will go back to this look or something similar. Thanks.
Loved that u got some Jazz records Anthony, I've been trying hard now (it's hard!) to get into Jazz (Miles, Coltrane, Mingus) and I would love if u made a video of essential Jazz Records so I can expand my horizon even further. (there is so much jazz dammit, don't know where to start!)
Recently purchased Stone sours house of gold and bones part one and two which are okay albums..Then bought Wavves afraid of heights album which is awesome.. And to finish the week off went watching Nine Inch Nails live on sunday night great gig :)
I had to get up halfway through the video to make sure you hadn't robbed me lol Sleep was weird. The one I ordered was supposed to be purple, but when it showed up it was a trippy brown/green 'Hashisheen' swirl.
I see a cheeky in rainbows album in the back :p
I love ok computer and I LOVE kid a but I'd probably say my favourite Radiohead album would actually be the one peeping out of your vinyl collection behind you.
The Reckoner

I love In Rainbows so much. Probably my second favorite or tied with OK Computer for favorite. Didn't watch the whole video, but does he mention the In Rainbows record in the background or does it just sit there?
dont think he mentions it? I dipped in and out in between work! He's said before that he loves it though
Vismund Floyd Are you just here to torment everyone? Also, how is Radiohead arena rock?
Same with me, In Rainbows is incredibly lyrical and musically ethereal, harmonic, and atmospheric. And it has my favourite Radiohead song Videotape
ImBatman1800 In Rainbows is brilliant.
Apple O', Strawberry Jam, OK Computer, Dopethrone, Silent Shout, and Dopesmoker? Damn Anthony, you been shopping for my taste, those are all fucking classic.
I love listening to Electric Wizard while tokin on the devils lettuce.
fuku
Haven't bought a record in over a year due to financial troubles but watching this makes me itch to get back into my vinyl game.
Ahh! I always look forward to the vinyl updates. There's just something relaxing about seeing people go through their vinyls
I miss when you shaved and didn't wear shirts with wolves on them and didn't look like you were slowly becoming homeless.
"the good ol' days," they call them.
+theneedledrop wait your from ct, so am i
Why don't u get vinyl 4 Kid A since u now have In Rainbows and Ok Computer?
lmfao
lol what
Anthony watched Kids on the Slope didn't he? Damn I wish I could hear Moanin' on vinyl.
omg didn't know other people actually watched kids on the slope, great anime.
Mod.Sound I could just picture Anthony and Cal huddled up togther on the couch with a box of tissues crying their eyes out during some of the more emotional parts.
Love watanabe 😍
Satanist bong smoker here, is Electric Wizard right for me?
Fucking incredible record.
Well... how was it?
yes
Yes, Kid A. My jaw hit the ground during and after listening to that for the first time. Unique, experimental, touch of glitch, amazing.
i can see the edge of in rainbows sticking out on one of the shelves.
My local record store has a copy of OK Computer for $100. Dunno why though.
It is probably an original Parlophone pressing and not a Capitol reissue.
Where?
Chris Ramirez nice profile picture
Aw snap! You have the in rainbows record too!
Make your own shelf.
I agree on Radiohead. Kid A is my fave
And there was me thinking I was the only one
i like The Bends
Honestly creep is the only best song ever.
Kevin Fuller tf is wrong with you?
Kevin Fuller
Yeah Creep is their only good song
Yay, you finally talked about Radiohead.. I wish you'd talk more about them but hey I'll take what I can get :) Can't wait for LP 9

That wolf shirt is fantastic! Diggin' the stache too.
Uh, Anthony, you know IKEA just replaced the old shelving unit with a new one, right? It's nearly the same thing.
Here this nigga go with his Vinyl again.
People actually ask him to do videos showing his collection

I saw Deerhoof live recently too! Bought Deerhoof vs Evil, met all of 'em and got their autographs.
Excellent update. I just bought the Misfits Collection 1 a few hours ago. Needed a vinyl rendition of "Skulls". Definitely going to check out Baby Huey now.

I also think Kid A is better than OK Computer.
I think bends is the best
JP Craft The Bends has Planet Telex which is to me one of their best creations.
I would love to see Deerhoof. They are so quirky and I know I can go into any of their albums weather I have listened to it of not and love it because they are just so fun every time around.

Shaking The Habitual was such a big step down for me from how fantastic Silent Shout is.
The Expedit model may be discontinued, but they instantly replaced it with the Kallax. The thicker side pieces are just a little thinner, and that's the only change. It comes in more colors.
I can just see In Rainbows in the background. Would love to hear your thoughts on that.
That's my favourite Radiohead Album. Then Kid A and then Ok Computer. Ok Computer is great but it gets a bit samey for me. The entire album feels like it repeats itself a lot. Still an amazing record. Would like to hear what Fantano thinks of In Rainbows as well
Out of curiosity, what are your top 3 favourite songs from In Rainbows?
@@pippo521 I know this question isn't directed to me, but since no one answered I'm dropping my top 3 here (yes I know the comment is 5 years old but I don't care):

@@xbenci nice selections there 👍
@@pippo521 Jesus man, that's wild to think about that you answer to a question after 5 years.
My first vinyl was the original pressing of queens news of the world.
I just went to see Sleep live, man is it an experience. It's definitely...um....interesting
which date?
In Portland Maine
Gotta get that Dopethrone -vinyl! Such a great album, wish I had it on wax.
Anthony, please please review Kid A for your next classic review!
Nice to see Strawberry Jam get some love.
It's just such a happy album.
For your shelves, a great option would be the brand USM

I saw the thumbnail and came running.

Clear Blue Sky - self titled
Nat King Cole - Love Is The Thing (fantastic LP for late-night listening)
Lee Fields - Faithful Man
Funkadelic - Let's Take It To The Stage
Mordy Laye & The Group Modular - The Mystery Of Mordy Laye (a great slice of funky late night space electronica)
Sharon Jones And The Dap Kings - I Learned The Hard Way
LL Cool J - Mama Said Knock you Out
Phil Collins - Face Value
Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back
Run DMC - Tougher Than Leather
IKEA discontinued the expedit, which is what you have. but now they have the kallax.. which is basically the exact same.
The Baby Huey Story... great record, man.
THAT'S INSANE. I was thinking about great jazz albums and Sonny Rollins popped into my head then THE ALBUM I WAS THINKING ABOUT IS RIGHT THERE WOW HOW RARE CRAMPTANO COMES THROUGH AGAIN

OH MY GOD I AM SO JEALOUS OF YOU RIGHT NOW. Dopesmoker AND Dopethrone!? Those two albums are absolutely LEGENDARY stoner doom. GAH!!! Such good albums man. Congrats on picking them up.
what a nice score :) great Jazz selection by the way !
I haven't started a record collection yet but recently I went thrifting with some friends and found a CD of Speakerboxxx/The Love Below for only two dollars! I couldn't pass it up.
you prefer Kid A to Ok Computer???? FUCK THAT! just joking...Kid A is great also, but i prefer Ok Computer.
same both awesome but i can listen to ok computer over kid a.
OK Computer was Radiohead trying too hard. Kid A was Radiohead finding themselves. No contest which one sounds better.
jaffro321 No, Hail to the Thief was Radiohead trying too hard.
MrPingasPower I love Hail To The Thief, but it's not their best
Amnesiac is the best Radiohead album imo
I went to my local record store recently and by god. It was so friggin' hard to choose between Sunbather, The Velvet Underground & Nico, Honor Found In Decay, and the White Album. I hope to god that the other three are still there when I go back with enough money to get them.
VU&N is perfect in my opinion
Bruh, those strawberries look fucking amazing.
I'm starting to run out of space too, so I have to get super picky about what records I buy. I would love to have a record shelf like that.
The amount of In Rainbows love in here is great
Make your own shelf. Hell, i'm sure you could find tons of fans who'd help.
I'm diggin' the beard, Anthony.
Anthony- if you enjoy the sound of jazz on vinyl you should check out some of the audiophile double 45 LP's put out by Classic Records and other boutique labels. They're pricey but the sound is amazing.
best update so far
gotta get those two dope albums
Just recently bought Metz's album, Mudhoney's Superfuzz Bigmuff and Japandroids' Celebration Rock. Im a happy guy :)
The main jazz drummer you'd probably be thinking of is Max Roach. Major bebop player. Elvin Jones as well, kinda in Coltrane's shadow a lot.Tony Williams, Lenny White, and Billy Cobham maybe, more fusion than bop, though.
Max Roach? Elvin Jones? Kenny Clarke? Philly Joe? Tony Williams??? So many great jazz drummers and you can't think of one. Shamethony on Youtano.
The Ikea Expedit is being replaced with the Ikea Kallax. I believe they will share the same dimensions.
I just bought on Vinyl:
A Thousand Leaves - Sonic Youth
Marquee Moon - Television
Queen Of Denmark - John Grant.
Just listened to Marquee Moon for the first time today. Very good
Hey, bro this is your best look. Facial hair + shaved head = dope.
So when you see this comment and I know you will go back to this look or something similar. Thanks.
finally you got some radiohead! took your time.
This is the best vinyl update.
Now all you need is Eyehategod's "Dopesick" and you'll have dope's Holy Trinity.
I can see The Stooges' Fun House back there, classic shit.
there we go, Dope Throne, that is a great album for sure
.
Animal collective..i have the CD, need to get the LP :P
I recently got Explosions In The Sky's The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place and also Mac DeMarco's Rock n Roll Nightclub
so are those like primitive laser discs or something?
about the expedite, ikea released a new shelf called the kallax. its practically identical to the expedite.
"sell all your records, idiot" was surprisingly really close to what I was thinking about typing... lol.
Southern Lord's rerelease of Dopesmoker sounds fantastic.
I recently bought Bright Eyes - Im wide awake its morning and Danny Brown - Old
Your wolf shirt looks pretty magical. Be carful wearing that thing around, you could hurt somebody

Putting OK Computer as the thumbnail = a damn good way to get views
all those jazz records are bang on! jealous
I appreciate the jazz albums they are great pieces of music!
I had to get up halfway through the video to make sure you hadn't robbed me lol
Sleep was weird. The one I ordered was supposed to be purple, but when it showed up it was a trippy brown/green 'Hashisheen' swirl.
The kallax, ikea's replacement for the expedit, seems like it might be ok. The outter thickness is about half of the expedit's but it is still solid.
i bought that Electric Wizard record for my brother like 2 years ago.
i just started my record collection with carcass- surgical steel, and bolt thrower- in battle there is no law
Literally two 10/10s for me in this video. Moanin' and Strawberry Jam.
dopethrone is my fav metal record of all time
Goddamn, I want a copy of Dopethrone. But I'm pleased with my purple vinyl Dopesmoker copy and I prefer the new art/packaging as well.
I randomly found Discovery from Daft Punk at Book-A-Million a week ago. I was mad because I had to choose between that and CHVRCHES' album :D
Dopethrone is my second favorite EW records just behind Witchcult Today.
I see Things Fall Apart by The Roots in that collection ;)
the expedit is discontinued but there is another on the market called the Kallax series. basically the same thing.
