Quoting Mika Vainios childhood friend Antti Viitala, from an article ”Mika Vainio,- A Quiet Life”, published by Yle in 2017 :
”Mika’s perception of sounds translated into his music. For example, his track Twin Bleebs was created as he had been laying in his bed until late with his windows open, as he heard the sometimes synchronized but sometimes dissynchronized beeping of the trafic lights of a nearby intersection.
Also happens with blinkers on cars that are in line, waiting to turn. Kinda like audio/visual resonance.
I'm so sad I only got to know Mika's work after his passing. He was absolutely brilliant.
what an inspiration, an amazing period in music , RIP Mika
Eternal blessings to you Mika.. RIP
deathmetaldiscoclub oh shit...He died when.....
wtf, i just knew him :(
Genius!
What I liked best about Pan(a)sonic and Vainio was that the music, a little like Steve Reich, was all about simple repetitive sounds that changed very slightly to create something different. I guess you could almost call his/their music electro spectral.
Which Reich's tracks would you advise to listen to for the first time?
@@arturbikmourzin2093 Wow, you caught me off guard, since my comment was 3 years ago. However, if you're interested in discovering Reich, I'd start with the well known "Music for 18 Musicians", and, if you like it, I think you'll be looking for other pieces to hear without my suggestions.
@@cardboardmusic thanks
too good. R.I.P. Mika

i want this album!
Very good.
same year as Robert Hood - Minus. Who wore it better?
He also took inspiration from Oliver Braun. Notice he stole a synth line.
