You look so happy right now, its great to see how much your hair has grown! Every time i see you , you're an inspiration! I always get really sad when people talk about their beloved cats online because it's usually in the past tense.. (Goodness they live such short lives).
OMG Grace getting to hear from you has been the highlight of my day. You are beautiful and you seem like you are at peace with yourself and it is a joy to see. The waiting is a huge bummer but don’t let it stop you from being the most you you can. HRT won’t make you love yourself. You have to do that on your own. I mean yeah HRT is great but remember that you are in control. You have already made steps towards who you are. You have found your path and now you just get to enjoy it for all its beauty. 💜💛💜 Much love from a trans sister in Aus.
No way! Four years ago, I would have sworn you'd already done some transitioning. You already looked so naturally you. Literally, a huge part of getting me to look for my own HRT was so I could reach your level of natural expression. Fortunately, my university medical center makes it very very easy to start the process, so it only took me a couple of months. Two years into my transition, though, and you still look like you're way ahead of me lol. Keep going, you'll get where you want to be in no time c:
Grace, I have all the love and respect in the world for you. You were a ray of positivity at the start of my transition when I was closeted and alone. And I want your transition to be as good as they come, because you deserve it. And with that in mind, here's a bit of wisdom for you: * The system is slow and you'll have to learn to live with that. I live in the UK and my initial wait was 11 months (cut down from 13) just for an initial assessment. I had to wait another 10 months for HRT. And three months after that to get the letter for my doctor telling him I can have them. That last appointment was January 2018, and I'm now stuck trying to get proper blockers, which probably won't be until the end of the year now. If you can get HRT in 11 months, you're on the gold standard of public healthcare. Just be prepared for the same if you ever want any surgeries. * HRT is both the biggest deal in the world, and not that big a deal. Don't feel like the long wait you have ahead of you in any way delays your transition. When you start, changes will be small and incremental and since you already look very naturally feminine they won't stack up to a degree that changes your life for a good long while. * 25 is not old to transition. I started at 33. ;) * The first year (I'm reliably informed) sucks. A lot of the first several months is kinda painful. The rest is kinda depressing. You'll hopefully have a positive experience regardless, because you seem like a positive person, but if you feel like shit after six or twelve months, that's normal. * About a year in you will, like me, probably feel like you're the Master Lord Queen of Transylvania, having hit a big milestone and having had real results from your treatment and, like me, start doling out advice to younger trans women. It's good to remember that the rest of your life could be fifty to eighty years, so that first year, and the year before it where you have to wait to start treatment, are going to feel pretty insignificant pretty soon. Be good to yourself. I hope it all goes well.
First, Sorry about your kitty. Secondly, AW! NEW KITTY! I am sorry that you have to wait so long to get the ball rolling where you live. It's a massive kick in the teeth. I sometimes wish we would be born with a book that tells us these things so we know to take care of them before puberty and age sets our bodies in bone :P . I'm 34 and I continue to keep putting HRT off the table because of the way I look now and it's just, ugh. But enough about me. I love your videos, I LOVE that you decided to give us an update. You are an amazing person and its so heartwarming to see you come on here and share your life with us. :)
Ugh, yeah the wait lists are unbearably long in most countries it feels like... But at least you've APPLIED! Now the day will come closer and closer 💖 So sorry to hear about Bowie, but I'm glad you found Ghibly, and to hear from you again Grace 😊💞
OMG!!! I remember when the first time I heard the term "gender fluid" I completely identified with it... I first heard it from yourself... but it didn't last long and now am full time transgender (at 41)... trust me it's all in your powerful mind 25 years olds ain't shit!!! Im sooooo happy for you!!! You can be or do or have anything you want!!
Great to see you back. I heard about what happened on one of your vids over Twitter. Can't wait to see you progress on your journey. Much love to you. 💖
Glad to see you posting again! It’s really sad that you have to wait about 11 months to see a psychiatrist, to get a referral to an endo. Hopefully everything goes fast..!! All the best in your transition
Thank you, I'm so happy to be posting again too! Oh geez I know, I'm currently looking at forking out de money and going private, that might speed things up a lil bit!
No problem ^_^ I agree; that’s what I’ve done. I’m currently doing fertility related stuff but should be on HRT soon :D But have a look around. We have Medicare over here in Australia. I still needed the money, but got most of it back straight after and only ended up spending $50, And every appointment after is bulk billed :)
Ah I've been looking into the fertility related stuff too! Gonna try and get it all sorted with the endo :) Ah dang, that is still so awesome you got most of the money back so quick! Gotta love affordable healthcare :D
Cool :) And yeah, it’s pretty good :D, what’s it like over in NZ? I might end up moving there one day, but I’m not sure what it’s like exactly... (in terms of any trans stuff..)
its inspiring seeing you be yourself. keep pushing and dont stop being you. you might not realise but it helps so many people to see who they are and feel like they arent going crazy. :)
O M G...You look so beautiful. I wish you so much love and good luck in all your steps. I'm happy to see you after long time. Don't take too long again...Be happy Grace.
Not sure if this is possible, but it could be worthwhile to ask the psychiatrist's office which endocrinologist or endocrinology office they typically use. Then you could try talking with that endo office and see if it's possible to schedule an initial appointment set soon after your wait time for the psychiatrist. That way, you could have the okay from one and already be lined up to see the next. The endo office might just specify that your appointment is pending the letter from the psychiatrist. I'm not even sure if that would be possible here in the US, but I've been pleasantly surprised at the compassion and drive of some physicians, so I figure it's worth a try in a lot of places.
I'm so happy and excited for you! I look forward to seeing more insight into your transition experience. I'd like to touch on the health coverage differences between our countries (although I've visited NZ for a fair bit, I've never had to use the health system :) ) Any way! I'm in the U.S. and assuming you can even find a health plan that would cover transitioning, it's extraordinarily expensive. And the wait times here are far longer for assessments and procedures than in NZ, or any where else in the world for that matter. But I don't want to put a cloud over what we feel is a joyous occasion for you! Much love!
Thank you! Yeah I'm looking forward to understanding the transition experience here too! Oh dang, I'm pretty sure here, once you've talked with the endocrinologist and whatnot, it's not too expensive - at least, I imagine it would be considerably cheaper than it would be in the States! I feel pretty lucky to be in NZ in regards to the healthcare system here :)
RIP Bowie :( I remember when you first got him. He was such a cute cat. I'm sorry. It's good to see you're doing well. You have been missed. You should totally make more simple videos like this. Just chat with us. You're an inspiration to thousands of people.
@@Seadresa Watching you even if is trought this screen have helped me so much! I still have a long way to go but I would like to give you a big hug and thank you for your words and every single video!
I hope this is not too insensitive to suggest - but perhaps you could start a go fund me type thing to expedite your transition by having it pay for you to see a private psychiatrist. Wishing you well through your transition, you are beautiful inside and out.
Oh my GOD! I can't imagine how that would have felt for me to wait 11 month once I decided that I wanted to take hormones. From making up my mind to being on hormones it took me 1,5 month and that seemed like eternety. (To be fair I went through the private healthcare system, and spent about $2000 to get everything needed. Going through public healthcare takes years over here as well...)
Exciting to see you start on the journey - It sucks that it is going to take so long, and although this doesnt apply to you, think about how much awareness there now is surrounding LGBT+ communities. I dare say in a decade, you will see a lot more in the way of psychologists etc, there to cater for the LGBT community as it becomes increasingly recognised ^_^ Sending support from across the ditch in Sydney x
Thanks! It's great to be starting! Oh I totally believe that there's going to be so much more accessibility for LGBT+ people in about ten years - I mean even looking at the system these days compared with ten years ago, we've come so far already! Can't wait to see what the future brings ^_^ Thanks so much for the support! :D
Good for you. I held off hormones for too long, trying to identify purely as gender fluid, but society isn't ready to accept that yet. I went private in 2017. If you can afford it, do it. BTW the referral waiting period here in the UK is 2+ years and that's just to see someone. It could be years after that before I got a prescription.
I forgot it!! your hair is simply amazing!! what a great, lovely and sexy long hair you have now!!! Will you do something with it? (highlights or something?)
Babe your skin is looking so beautiful and I'm glad you are making another video I've missed you I thought of you sometime ago your skin is looking so gorgeous sweetheart
Hi Grace, in Austria the Therapist want to see you at least for 6 Months so he/she are sure and give you any referal. Then you have to get a psychiatric and another psychological assessment (so 3 together) Then the waiting list for Endocrinologist is like 3-9months depending on the part of the coutry. As you say, if you go private, then its matter of weeks. I wish yiu all the best, heads up, don’t let this bitch to drown you. I love you vids and always happy to see your updates. 💕
It's a pretty smooth process once you're in your twenties, like me :P but it's just a matter of being able to book an appointment to give say "hey, I'm trans so gimme some hormones pls" which is what is taking so long!
Again thank you I love listening and watching women that's how I learn Women are Smarter there's a group I love has a song called men are smart Women are Smarter you are smarter women are
