- This is a really beautiful soffit made by Chamclad. This has just hit the residential market in the USA. If you are wanting the beauty of real wood without all the maintenance... you need to check it out!

I love it, it looks like a very nice product. 🤘
It is!
Sure have! I was one of the first ones out here to use it when it came out and I will say definitely try and avoid using the plastic face caps and go for aluminum. Everytime we've used the PVC face cap they shrink and we have to replace them.
I wish they'd be like sagiper and use an aluminum backer as well
Keith that T track is an H channel..
If you're impressed with chamclad which it does look amazing in a lot of colours. You should check out longboard architectural products, lux architectural products, engage building products.
Other shout outs would be le distinction, mac siding, or cedar renditions.
A shout out for concrete would be urban concrete designs.
Nice…so how much contraction we talking about. Seems pretty severe to have to replace it?
I have the Sagiper soffit samples but they seem to be no where near as robust as the Chamclad? Do you like one more than the other?
@@w.k.d.constructionllc I've had the PVC open and much as 3/16". I know for soffits it sucks for its a 1 piece
I prefer the chamclad for it is a recycled material so far less waste we have to destroy. That and chamclad has a nicer colour pallet. The same company who makes the vinyl wrap for sagiper also makes for chamclad.
We have one builder who used the product on 30% of their houses and lately they've been using a lot of the toffee colour. Man is that ever a beautiful colour to have.
That's why I love the siding game, people think all there is, is vinyl, wood, fiber cement, stucco or acrylic. Once you explain to them products come from all corners of life, and you start showing them; they realize how many options they truly have.
@@batmansdad3195 cool, ya I thought the Chamclad looked a lot nicer as well. Thanks for your insight. You in Canada?
Looks great from up here in Canada Coach! GG
Looks fantastic
I’m impressed with it!
I can't tell, but are you using strips vents for intake, or is the attic encapsulated? If neither of these, how are you venting the attic?
No ventilation. My attic will be conditioned. I am building as passive as possible.
Trying to order it right now for my back covered deck ceiling on new construction. Pain in the ass to get the material seems like
Well, it’s brand new in the states for the residential market. Hopefully they’ll get it for ya
And does that come in a vented option??
Yes, you can get vented
How are you venting the attic?
I’m not. It’s a passive style build . My attic will be conditioned
@w.k.d.constructionllc makes sense. Do they have a vented soffit?
@ yessir they do!
Are you installing /C and Heat in your attic?
Do they have options for siding as well? Similar installation i’m guessing? Thanks!
Yes they do. It’s thicker and more robust. Essentially the same design and installation process
Ok, couple questions, and i apologize in advance if it's been covered in other videos. What are you cutting it with? We usually use chop saws and gang cut. I'm wondering about the "grain" and if it frays when cut and possibly peeling off. And 2, do you feel like that "grain" will last s long time? I know it's not being exposed to direct sunlight and UV rays for the most part, just curious about how you feel about the longevity of perceived longevity.
It’s all good! I’m using a standard 60 tooth Diablo blade in chop saw. It cuts really smooth, no frays. I just don’t rush the cut. I have not had it even attempt to peel off.
They have very rigorous testing on the film. They do accelerated weather scenarios. The company has been out for 20 years or something in Canada. Just now hitting the residential market here in the states. It has hella UV protectants for fading.
This is a solid product and looks amazing. The wall cladding I’m sure would fade over time, but the soffit should hold up very well long term. I will probably be using their columns too for my front porch. That will be a test for UV exposure.
@@w.k.d.constructionllc sweet! It does look incredible. It's already made the rounds in our little company and will surely be on the product display in the new office! Appreciate the time Coach!
@@mpenrod definitely! Thanks for watching
Looks nice! They sell vented ones too?
@@espltdrcart yes, they do!
Where can i buy it?
Any building center that deals with Wausau supply. They are the distributor
It burns?😮
@@williamevans6522 🤔
@w.k.d.constructionllc I am always considering flammability of building materials.
Its just truss core with a faux wood grain
This feels more rigid to me
@@w.k.d.constructionllc what about venting?
@@domading2759it’s porous so venting is no issue
@@completemoney have you ever built anything before?
Looks expensive
They don’t give it away! 😆
@@w.k.d.constructionllcdid I ask if they were free😅
