Please do not overlook sweeping in adventure mode, as it provides gold, gear stones, and XP scrolls. It's a great way to get these materials, especially if you sweep the levels on the second and third difficulties.
Very similar to 100% of other ones, if your happy as F2P just go that route :) I know many F2P players that are doing very well and have earned rewards from it.
