@@whistletutor lol... I know, I think that is my problem. I keep trying to learn it, but I am using so many differant peoples versions.... I can't make it sound right. One day it will just click and I will be able to play 50 differant versions of it.
Thanks for the video, I am trying to learn it now.... Cooley's Reel isn't the right name for it and it was composed by someone different under the title of the Rossport Reel. If you want to hear anymore about it let me know.... a musician in my family composed it 70 years ago. A shame it made it to the states how it did. Thanks!
There is a tune called The Rossport Reel, but it is not Cooley's Reel. It is very different tune. The root of the confusion here seems to be that one of the alternative names for The Rossport Reel is Cooney's Reel. It's also known as The Providence Reel. Tunes often get named after a player, especially locally. Names of tunes often get detached and some other name comes in so that people know what is being referred to.
awesome lesson ! I love the slow playing without the ornements, very cool for beginners !
Cooooool job on Cooley's Sean, thnx...it's one of my favorites..luv the new video intro's as well....
Thanks a bunch!
I'll put this one on my list to learn. Thank you.
Cool! Quite a different variation, I'll learn this one.
Love this video and tune!
Great lesson! Do you have a tutorial specifically showing how to do that fancy bag piping ornament at 4:15? Thanks!
Thank you, you're so talented.

Which version did you use?
Good question! Probably a bit of a mix of all of them haha
This is Great, it is a tune I still have problems with...
but where did you put the sheet music? or what "number" is it on the Session page?
Oops! Forgot that - fixed now!
@@whistletutor Cool, I did go and look on your web site... thinking it might have been there
there is 12 of them.... are you playing X: 1 ? or ?
Hmm I'm not sure - odds are I'm not playing it exactly like any of those settings

Found a version with triplets, I found you have to make the triplets clear for it to hit the audience.
It's "knee sh"! At least that's how we pronounce it in England great vid. Thanks :)
Yes, "knee sh" in the US too.
@@soslothful no it isn't? It's "nitch" in the US.
lanesplitter87 I’m in the US and I pronounce it like Knee Sh
would be so helpful if these tut vids said at the outset what whistle. D , C etc
Always D, unless otherwise specified :)
Yes, pronounced "knee -sh."
