Apparently, this company is dominated by developers, not designers. All the "features" seem to have been conceived by a group of developers. 😊
You are onto something there.
The Designs are for developers too right? I think the expectation is that eventually code for your average website will ship directly from Figma, similar to webflow. Designers should be getting familiar with front-end code.
It seems to me a huge waste of time/money to get a design in a perfect state in a design tool them do it again with code.
Why not do it right once.
To me, the major thing missing is state logic. Figure out how to do this and you really wouldn't need to open the IDE.
I really think that the previous interface was already good as it is. Why change things that doesn't need to be fixed?
When you got nothing to do, do useless crap.
@@AMDesignAndDev i dont understand with the hype around floating sidebar. Waste of space
@@AMDesignAndDev The new UI is more versatile, maybe they did it so it can adapt to different screen size and even device like Vision Pro?
@@ianzhengUX If you say so.
Figma is the new Adobe.
actually, Figma is part of Adobe
@@naranyala_devit was supposed to be but the adobe and Figma deal fell through
Worse than Adobe. At least Adobe approaches things from a designer's perspective.
@@turn-me-later Are you serious🤔
Canva vs Figma who woll turn evil first?
that ai tool will be paid for sure
I think so too.
@@AMDesignAndDev I guest its free for beta version
Designers won't have an exclusive seat at the table. Every Manager and business analyst will come up with mockups by using these AI features.
They said it. 2024 will be free and next year they'll charge an extra (optional) amount for that feature.
@@misterfulanito Horrible.
Feels like Adobe has taken control...
If all the work in Figma is to be done using AI tools, then what will happen to this designer in the future, is his job safe or not, and what is the designer's role in this new update. Please make video about everything about AI updates, job safety and if a new fresher designer wants to learn then how will he learn.
I literally keep looking for news about adobe's plan for UX UI tool, without competition there will be no benefit for designers. Figma's approach in pricing is not in favour of open designer/developer community.
100%.
Use Figma for what we used it for so far.
Use Zeplin for free to share stuff with the dev. ( Or ask them to copy and paste the design to their own drafts)
Use Canva for free for presentations.
If I need an interactive presentation with a slide show, I use Framer for free. (you basically have all those above with Framer, Pretty neat)
Agreed with your comments on roling out better features and the one that they are just sucking money out of our pockets now. But, that's what they are here for, Business.
Though, If figma really wants to stand out in terms of features, the framer way to make stuff live should be the next big step (Web designs in particular).
You’re underestimating the impact of AI in design. You sound dismissive: “noise has already died down” on design AI? Dude that’s 100% cope
Why you saying this?
The adage goes something like 'people tend to overestimate the impact of a new technology in the short term and underestimate the impact long term"
Features look great, but I started using Figma because it was free and simple. Now it's turning (turned) into a monster design tool that will eventually cost more!
What did you expect? I am happy that Designers will look for alternatives.
I think interface change is downer. But I’m really excited about the ai features and slide mode!
Does the author of this video use Figma? The Union select options have always been in a dropdown. And though Framer might have some AI options I wouldn't subscribe to a tool just for those features, so it's good Figma if now incorporating them into Figma. At the end of the day, Figma is more agile than Adobe and more design focused than other tools. It's the best of both worlds.
Figma Slides look so impressive! This reminds me of a Figma plugin I saw called FeatPaper. Did Figma make that too?
I think overall the changes are a step in the right direction for sure. However it is starting to get a little bit concerning to see a freemium model start to take over for a business that reached its peak by providing a simple product that was easy to use and free sigh... It will really need to up its game in the near future to maintain this trajectory
I actually think a lot of these features are gonna be great. I love the ability to more easily create slide decks and prototypes. This is probably the biggest update in terms of useful features that I have seen in awhile.
Well, the deal was cancelled but they got their hands on the special document (Milking the consumer) from Adobe in the heat of the moment.
can't agree more on the commend of dev mode
Not personally a fan of the redesigned interface.
Fu#k, we need to learn more shortcuts you guys 😂
Creatie will take the lead for sure in future mark my words. Figma is like adobe now almost everything is paid
Photoshop > Fireworks > Sketch > Figma > Penpot/Creatie > LLMs
the suggest auto layout looks good to me and my dev guy was super excited about new dev mode
Good for you and them!
As someone working in very niche healthcare, that icon drawing thing will help me so much 😅
Same
Slides are needed time saving
Anyone knows why I dont see the AI bar? only see deck feature
@@TaliShabaev it’s not yet released
@@AMDesignAndDev
Thanks! do you know when it will be released? I see some people did get the beta version
Figma is becoming a joke.
Tell me about it!
when its gonna release?
Most of it we'll get by 2025. Which is unbelievable considering how crappy it is already.
Code connect is like UXPin Merge.
