I wouldn’t call him a villain just a antihero like spawn just misunderstood, and each costume is unique and awesome in appearance especially the fire wings with the crucifix hidden within it
Well, he is really a villain, due to his wild nature something that a true angel does not do bad things. this redeemer wanted to destroy the earth with his high-tech ship and hurt a human without mercy. angels don't do insane things and light is for good, not for evil, and what this redeemer is doing is wrong, he cannot be an angel.
@@TevyaSmolka Since when do angels make deals and send bounty hunters fulfilling their objective to get paid? It is something that God and his angels do not do this kind of thing, an angel never kills an angel. in heaven greed, lust is prohibited. I would imagine the redeemer as Spawn's ally instead of an enemy and the redeemer was the angelic ideal hero of the duo in contrast to Spawn's status as the demonic anti-hero. They could start off as enemies but come to the best of terms after learning that they have the same goals, just through opposite methods.

I can't remember what issue it was, but the comics stated that if Al had not been killed because of the deal Jason Wynn had with Hell then Heaven was going to take in Al due his warrior abilities (in order to possible turn him in a Redeemer). It was stated that Al technically would have not meet the qualifications to get into Heaven, but Heaven was going to make an exception for him so that he could be their warrior against Hell.

THE ANGELS CHOOSE WINN⁈‥ SPAWN′S ANTAGONIST ARCH-ADVERSARY, & ARCH-ADVERSARY TO THE REST OF THE HUMAN RACE⁈… These so-angels must not have their heads on straight!
@@asssassyn maybe, I don't know I don't read the comics, but this video says Spawn won his first encounter when some bums hit the Redeemer in the back of the head and then Spawn suddenly wasn't one hit away from dying anymore and was no longer weaker than the Redeemer.
That is where tactics comes into place, as just because someone is stronger does not necessary mean they will win. Also, it seems that the Jason Wynn Anti-Spawn as built in weakness is that they are guided by pain to kill spawn and thus not always going to be thinking straight.
Due to a lawsuit Image comics lost the rights to Angela and now is the property of Marvel (as the co-creator sold the rights to Angela to Marvel after the court case) (Angela last appearance was Spawn 100 I believe). Angela was only a nemesis to Spawn for a few issues and then became an ally. Now according to Tiffany, another angel, Angela became Spawn's heavenly concubine so it was more of Batman\Catwoman type of relationship.
what did you mean ''Insanely Powerful Angelic Force Of God Created To Kill Spawn''? God does not do bad things, and this redeemer hurt a human mercilessly something that an angel does not do that, that would be blasphemous. God is Spawn's side and is an ally of his.
You have to remember that this is the Spawn Comics version of God, which has changed during different periods of time based on who was writing spawn. God in the spawn comics has been villain and holy. Right now it seems that God is an ally for right now, but Spawn has made his way in Heaven in the latest comic so time will tell how God is now in the comics.
There has been 4 redeemers with the current redeemer being split\copy personality from Eddie Frank. The Dark Redeemer is Abel from the bible story of Abel and Cain. The first two redeemers, Jason Wynn and Phil Timper, are the ones that used the non winged suit (which I think is a better look, but with the recon that it was the Mother of Existence who was Jesus I could under stand the changing of the outfit to a knighted wing version because it was explain that God in the Spawn Comics was not Jesus and thus the cross outfit makes no sense since the cross is associated with Jesus.)
@@EyeOfTheWatcher Cool. But if they were trying to remove him from the original cross Christen spawn killer of heaven, then why make him a winged knight of heaven with a cross on the helmet and belt? It makes him look even more so then not. That and Jesus isn't God but the son of God, it would make sense that Spawn would find he isn't God God🤷♂
@@TheOther644 To me it makes no sense to have an Anti-Spawn with cross or cross like symbols before the Crucifixion of Jesus (the M logo on a Spawn outfits denotes that it was Malebolgia who created them and the type of Armour denotes the time period the spawn came from for the most part). With the Anti-Spawns it seems like there is no rhyme or reason why their costume looks the way it does. Ironically enough they did have Anti-Spawn design with no cross symbols and had bone Armour (which it seems to denote that the particular anti-spawn was from the per-historical age). To me I just wish the suits of the Anti-Spawns has some type logic to them like the Hellspawns symbiotes and you can identify the host time period based on the costume appearance. In the Comics we have seen about 8 different Anti-Spawns: Abel (the forsaken)(this actual make sense since Cain was the first human Hellspawn), a Anti-Spawn that help killed Abel, a pre historic anti-spawn, a anti-spawn with a war hammer, a Anti-Spawn that is nothing but fire (I like to call them Buttnaked Anti-Spawn) , Anti-Spawn (Jason Wynn), Redeemer (Phil Timper), and Redeemer Golden Knight version (Eddie Frank). Lastly you have the Disciple who at one point was stated was the archetype and prototype of the Redeemer, but is made up of Jesus's twelve disciples.
@@EyeOfTheWatcher I think given that spawn is from hell and the anti-spawn heaven that it makes sense, specially after the crucifixion. I thought you said there was 4? Abel was Forsaken and looks like a darker version of the current winged Redeemer. I get what you are saying, I mean for the modern Redeemers with a crosses it works and any version after the crucifixion or crusades. But Abel was long before all of that, and unless he was brought back after the crucifixion and crusades it doesn't make sense he'd have a cross on his armor. I wonder if (The Redeemer) might appear in a SPAWN cartoon show series someday?
Originally he was gonna make an appearance in the hbo animated one. And Todd mcfarlane wanted Kevin Conroy to voice him

Redeemer has a cool design
Fun fact: the redeemer (Eddie) was actually saved and helped by spawn when he was younger.

makes me wonder why they didn't make Al Simmons a Redeemer? because that title would fit him so perfectly.
Because he sold his soul by signing the mercenary contract, executing missions doing the evil tht men do.
