FWIW, Miss Read is very British, so she could go there, and James Baldwin is very American. A Tale of Two Cities is classic and also historical fiction, so it could go there. Same for The Red and the Black. It depends on how much room you have, of course!
I'm not sure why, but this feels like the perfect time of year to read The Once and Future King, and it's fun. A Tale of Two Cities is one of my all time favorites. Miss Read is always a pleasure, in fact in rereading one of hers right now . I hope you enjoy all you fall reading!
