    Thank you, Kami and Judy...so wonderful, special memories of this season of the show...Larry Dobkin, Rod and Claire, and of course our beloved Earl. I might have already shared this, but we actually tossed a hand-held camera down the stairs for Kami's POV of her fall...Kami was such a pro... all that work without complaint. And yes, for me, dealing with the sudden loss of Ellen, re-writes on the fly, production report changes, scene-shuffling, etc. are all still fresh in my mind...lucky to have those memories to brighten my life to this day.

      Thanks also to you, Mr. Dayton, for your wonderful contributions - then and now!! (I get a kick out of spotting YOU , from time to time, when watching The Waltons! The other day I was watching the episode "The Furlough ", which I've seen countless times, before Judy created her UA-cam channel. I was delighted to see that it was YOU who played the officer who went and retrieved the scantily-clad Ike Godsey from the throes of his Army-intake physical! 😂) All the best to you and yours! ♥️

    I particularly love Kami's scenes with Ralph Waite. Especially when she's small and fully in the role of "daddy's little girl". I lost my own Dad when I was around Elizabeth's age, and seeing his tenderness with her often makes me tear up and regret those few years I had with him. My memories are few, but they're solid. I remember Dad holding me in his arms at the lake and "dunking" me in the water to overcome my fear. The game of "shovel" we used to play when he walked in the door from work and I'd run to him and he'd scoop me up in his arms and we'd both yell "Shovel!" Just warms my heart. Thanks again Kami and Judy. I can't tell you what the Waltons means to me and how thankful I am for your continued commentary and analysis of this wonderful series.

      Seems Kami always has an interesting perspective. My guess is not all the former actors/actresses are interested in doing this. I liked most episodes featuring Jim Bob. He did a great one with Patsy Rahn later in the series that reminded me of The movie ‘Summer of 42’ so much.

      Jim Bob was my favorite character, I think because I could relate to him. Jim Bob had his "head in the clouds". His perspective was not always the same as the rest of the family. He was himself even if he had to explore and dream a little bit to know who he was. He had a dream and he followed it even though that dream would be sidelined. But he pushed through and pursued his love for cars.

    I would have been 10 when the Ferris wheel episode aired. My bedtime was 8:30 and I recall negotiating an extra few minutes but was not allowed to watch the whole episode. I remember having bad dreams and worrying about Elizabeth for a long time. About 10 years ago I discovered the Waltons were on tv every day and couldn't wait to finally watch that entire episode. Such a treat to listen to you both! "I won the Mom lottery," said Kami! How terrific! Now what about those conversations, Judy, you didn't think age appropriate for Kami? Hmm! Sounds intriguing! You certainly have a lot of company watching The Homecoming every Christmas!!! Kami, what about Miss Margaret? 😊 I love how sometimes John Boy addressed Miss Margaret including your doll as an important part of the family and your life. Little things like that show great insight into human life and love! Adorable is the word for all you especially in the earliest episodes! I was frankly mesmerized by the children, the mountain location, and the time period. You Walton's have given great solace during the pandemic and now this despicable war on innocent civilians. It is a welcome respite to reminisce and learn more about our favorite people. You're so beautiful each and all! Judy, It was nice to listen to you both talk about your memories from being on The Walton's. On The Homecoming, you had so much spunk, personality, and was never afraid to say what was on your mind as 12 year old often does. Im just curious as to if you had to act Maryellen as the teenager she was, or did it just come natural? I can still hear Kami saying, "Im gonna have puppy's!" Thank you!

      It was fun to play Mary Ellen. In real life, I was a tomboy, so loved the physical scenes, playing ball, horse race etc. I was opinionated, independent and strong - so those traits came easily.

    I enjoyed this conversation very much. It would be great if all the kids could get together with Michael and have an informal roundtable discussion about the show and their lives on and off the show. Include Leslie Winston and Robert Wightman too. (It would be interesting to see the two John-Boys interact.)

    • @DevikaK100
      @DevikaK100 2 роки тому +3

      Speaking of Robert Wightman, how is his relationship with the cast? Does he come to the reunions? Like most fans, I could not accept him as "John Boy." But of course, he had big shoes to fill and Wightman did the best he could. So, yes, it would be interesting to just hear his take on having to take over the role.

    Blown away to find out that Ms. Cotler is the same age as I am. For some reason I thought she was a couple years younger! To think that I grew up learning my critical life lessons from actors the same age as I was! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Ms. Norton. You remain the beautiful, steady, and articulate presence that you oh so honestly portrayed. I am so grateful that you all entered my home weekly. These lessons helped guide me to some critical life decisions over the many years since "The Waltons" but those lessons never left. They helped guide me to care for my elderly as their need for help, love, and care came in the fullness of time, and to become a living kidney donor a few years back. You all may not be aware of how deeply you and your fellow actors impacted other children (at the time), but (perhaps) indirectly you helped save my life and show me the beauty in the simple things. May you be blessed in all you do.
    Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    As a former educator and writer, and being from small-town Missouri, I find comfort watching The Walton’s, the writing, both of you and your characters, …all of it! It takes me to a time that I long for in my heart~Loving mountains, the writing, scenery, how the family always came together, even though each were encouraged to follow his/her path,…I grew up a tomboy like Mary Ellen! I love the episodes Kami shared. And Judy, how wonderful you got to enjoy horses and the “role” fit what you loved! You are both so authentic and fun!
