Each Glass Animals album has a different theme/sound/focus. I hiiighly recommend listening with great headphones, I remember listening to Zaba with a good set and it was a totally new experience, even after listening to that album for years. I really love each of their albums and honestly dont think they have many misses, though I am a huge fan of theirs and have been for years. It is their oldest, but Leafllings has some super interesting songs I recommend having the lyrics up for, because they can get a bit abstract and fun. So glad you liked the album, hope you enjoy the rest of their discography
I don't think leaflings will be your vibe. It's all so incredibly loud, Waterfalls coming out your mouth, or other side of Paradise are very very good listens. @@illMusicReviews
What all the songs are about in the words of the band: Show pony: our first experience of love, not told through the singer (Dave)’s eyes WTHIH: convincing yourself you’re happy in a bad situation, namely being kidnapped CIH: reminiscing on a past relationship Wonderful Nothing: when love and hate come together in a toxic relationship and you can’t leave but you hate staying A tear in space: when someone makes you feel so small and insignificant that your tears are just tears in the expanse of space I can’t make you fall in love again: being in a relationship with someone who you can tell no longer loves you but doesn’t leave HILTLTB: exactly how you described it, being with someone who shows you another side of their self White roses: knowing you have to leave your relationship because your partner isn’t getting what they deserve from you On the run: considering it actually carrying out faking your own death to escape your problems Lost in the ocean: getting lost in your feelings and your head but knowing there’s someone there to help (I think, not entirely sure about that one). Hope this helps!
The main theme of the album is love, each song being a different type of love towards a person, self, place, thing, idea, etc. So yeah you aren't gonna find a song that's not about love on this record, lol. You should really check out their other albums, especially ZABA and How To Be a Human Being. They each have a completely different sound and theme, yet somehow have the same captivating energy. Cheers!
Heat Waves is amazing! You gotta check that one out. Also, fun fact, On The Run has the same bass and guitar as a song called Where is My Mind by a band called The Pixies. I instantly was drawn to that song, too, and could tell what they were doing with that track.
If you wanna know more about Glass Animals, this is a great video that describes what they're all about. Every album is a concept, and they break it down nicely. ua-cam.com/video/HtC1F1Xxrx8/v-deo.htmlsi=WlT_Vso7rpe5mIX5
