LOL......... The dealership address is "666"! It must have been a beast of a dealership. All kidding aside, I always thought the 1969 through 1973 AMC Ambassador to be one of the best-looking automobiles on the road. Very sleek and well-styled to last that many years in a styling cycle. Beautiful front and rear styling. Handsome interiors, too. They rode so quietly.
AMC was a decent car but a mix mosh of parts GM Saginaw power steering and Delco pumps Ford Auto lite carburetor and ignition system. This model had a Borg Warner automatic transmission. Anything after 1972 model year got a 727 torque flight Chrysler transmission. The steering column key tumbler is GM.
I had a Glen Green Ambassador SST with the Rebel Machine 390 and every option AMC offered. It was a dealer special order. My dad bought it off the showroom floor at Manhattan AMC , West End Ave. That thing did 14 in the 1/4 !! at englishtown. I loved that car!
The Ambassador wasn't as exclusive or expensive as those car you mentioned. At best, it was comparable to an Olds 88 Supreme, a high end Ford LTD Brougham or a Dodge Royal Monaco Brougham. The Ambassador was a great car, but it was entry level luxury despite the salesman's hype.
Its amazing how many people show up in these comments sections and glaze right over all the jokes like they're still watching Tesla presentations. WELL THAT JUST HAPPENED 😂😂😂
My parents bought a 1973 that looked much like this one. Silver with a blue vinyl top and blue interior. It was just such a great car. When I met my wife, her dad drove a 1972 AMC Matador the smaller version of this car. He always said it was probably the best car he ever owned.
Attention CARB in Califirnia just banned all gas cars and even classics!!!! According to the federal HESCHLAVVO law, it is already forbidden in Switzerland to drive combustion engines on mountain passes from 2025. In France, the SCHLABOUBVE regulates that fossil vehicles that produce fine dust are prohibited in all cities from 2025. The BABVVO in Germany will bann exhaust gas pollution from 2027 and that is what will happen in entire EU also bann of all tires and brakes because of fine dust!!! 3
AR 3:59 one time AMC MATADOR s were popular with car thieves. My 1972 MATADOR was almost stolen but the would be thieves most likely got scared off. I noticed pry marks between the window and the door on the driver's side. This happened twice at the O'Hare Airport Parking Garage some time ago. That parking lot seems to attract car thieves from Chicago's bad neighborhoods.
@bobjohnson1587 Most likely stolen for parts due to parts shortages is my guess. Airport parking garages seem to be the most vulnerable with thugs coming from bad neighborhoods and stalking the parking garages. How they get beyond the end gates I sure wonder what the tell the attendant or how they force up the gates to let them through maybe with slugs.
Love these old reels..😍
Me too
1-ADAM-12😂🚓
Attn:My Aunt Doris had the same EXACT ve-HIC-le.She kept the peace, ran the bobbins, etc, etc,et al😂started every time,Still in service 😂!
9 interior color and fabric choices! Compare that to today when most companies offer 2-3 color choices.
Right? Grey or Black! 3 Exterior color choices: Silver, Black or White.
With AMC out of business there's a Kia dealership at that address now. "I bought my Soul from Satan!"
LOL.........

I hope the dealership's commercial tagline was "Come to 666 for a devil of a deal!"
The salesman, Al Bender, is really Satan.
Good looking car.
AMC was a decent car but a mix mosh of parts

Ford Auto lite carburetor and ignition system.

I own 2 AMC cars they're great.
I miss my Glen Green, 1970 Ambassador DPL hardtop. It was a great car.
*ka-chow* now you have another one with those slight option tweaks you decided along the way of owning the first one. congrats on the power windows!

What ARE you talking about?!@@SnepperStepTV
The constantly beeping car horns in outdoor traffic at a ton of realism conversation.
I recall they also came out with a police package version of this car.
trying to sell an amc in any decade was a challenge.maybe not the jeeps, but definately the cars.
I Owned The 74 And 77 2 Door Matadors Loved Both ❤😊
They were always frumpy looking, but solid and reliable.
Rear styling is pretty tight
The ambassador was a smaller more economical alternative to the big three Cadillacs, Imperials, and Lincolns.

I wonder if the Greers still have their Ambassador!
Maybe they traded it in for a Gremlin or a Pacer! lol
AMC was always a 'me too' company. lasted another 8 years.
Damn…some terrible traffic outside the dealer….
I think Mr. Grier parked the car in the middle of the road 😂
"We don't need two cars" - Certainly not, lol.
Yeah, I just hate those bumpers that only go part way across the car. Not a good look at all. Give me a full width bumper every time.
but amc wasn't mopar.
The dealership address started with 666. That car was doomed from the start.
I noticed that right away, too. The devil is in the detail. 😏

JL ...........you marked yourself with that remark .👹LOL

They would later have a Gremlin...
"Al we really like the Ambassador but how much longer will u b showing Mrs Grier the backseat"
Lol!
The salesman sounds just a little bit like Groucho Marx.
I thought Groucho sold DeSotos
Hello how are you doing? My my aunt always use these cars she loved American motors Matador 4 door! Love to find one & own it!
What? No added on costs for nitrogen in the tires or window tinting? 😂
Lol! Yeah, the nitrogen scam!
We gonna totally ignore that the dealership address is 666??? 😂 💀
It's 1970, close to the last year before compression went down and smog pumps went on. Knowing that, you're going to pour money into that POS??? 😂

@@albertcarello619 Ahh! Parts shortages! That makes sense! After all, what self-respecting car thief would want to be seen driving a Matador! lol
God american cars were junk 😂😂😂
They still are. Just in a fancier package!
666 address hummmm
