- Only stayed one day. It was hooooot! But we managed to hike Angels Landing and The Narrows. Would love to visit Zion NP again, just maybe in a cooler month. Fun Facts: The Anasazi were the first inhabitants of Zion Canyon, settling there around 1,500 BC. The Narrows, a 20 to 30 foot wide area along the floor of Zion Canyon, is a popular hiking destination. At the final section of Angels Landing, features steep drop-offs of 800 to 1,000 feet on either side as you ascend 500 feet along a narrow mountain ridge. Chains and carved steps provide a little support and security as you brave this harrowing section of trail. Yeah the chains were sketch!
