Jitting is to Detroit as dress clothes was to Detroit..As you can see they are sharp as Cheddar with a straight razor! Those moves are legit 👌 🔥 I still use these same combinations and sequences 30yrs after they created them..That is powerful 👏 Hopefully they stay around for another 30yrs
JUST saw the screening of the documentary, all i can say is WOW! The crowd loved it. I can't wait till it is officially released!
SWEET!!! SO Chicago and Finally stop saying we stole jittin from them
I’m from Portland, Oregon now living in Detroit and I can say the Detroit culture is infectious. As an outsider I respect the culture where I’m at
@biscoe tone
They never danced on the New Dance Show... That footy is from the Scene dance show. The Scene started 74-75 they where one of the first groups to perform as a group on the Scene. Just wait til the dvd drops very soon to get the whole story and the break down of the original steps. Right now the youngest brother is in his 50s
I love that you guys put this out there. Keep on dancing!

Detroit history classic of dance.........HIP HOP
Man, I came across this documentary/dance style by accident. Black Folks are ALL WAYS innovating in Music, Dance and Sports under the worst of circumstances.
They were amazing!
This will make a great movie
omg this is amazing. Most of the people that jit now a days don't care about the history and don't respect the og's that started it. Well I do I remember when I first start jitting. the og's wouldn't let me even touch a circle or lrarn no moves until I got the complete science down. now a days kids just flip, break dance, kick there legs with a sloppy style and think they Jitting.
Doooope! Great Look for Detroit!
Well at least the jitterbugs gave other groups in Detroit some ..If these younger cats could have been a fly on the wall back then they would have had way more to talk about.

Do they talk about Chicago on the dvd?
jenki221 where Micheal Jackson start at? Um Detroit. This is where he learned so Detroit takes the credit
Chicago started in the 90s
This is real dancing.. Detroit Jitters today have their own style and you have to respect that, but of they learned this style they would smash damn there any other style.. Locking is probably the only other style that can give their style a run for their money.. And those lockers better be on their shit! Or it's going to get ugly real quick...
Epic..!
@YaBoyEddie
That first routine they did at Hart Plaza was the true Jitterbugs.Anything other than that is not them!! People have gotten mad at me for criticizing them when they weren't on point..I don't give a flying f__k... The jitterbugs would have done me the same way..We come from a era of if you not on point you were garbage.. Audiences will be fine with you just putting on a good show, but the group's goal is to do what they planned on doing from their rehearsals..Real talk..
It's kinda messed up I wasn't informed or invited to the preview. Oh well.
Kids these days don't nearly have the soul of the originators.
I disagree they do but they can’t be them they only be them selves
Awesome I love it now everybody want to b a thug
Sorry you brothers did not originate nothing!! That's why it call the jit from the Jitterbug and tap dancing of the 1930's- 40's. My Grandfather was a Jitterbug dancer from the 30's. I go back and watch old film of the jitterbug dancers and it ain't nothing they do that has not already been seen from them old days, in fact the older days had more fast pace, and energetic moves!!! !! The backward slide was seen in a 1942 film....Give the credit where credits is due, but they brought it back tho!!!!revitalized it, give them credit for that
Obviously you didn't watch the documentary? Credit was given... although the term Jitterbug or jit in Detroit in the 60s and 70s meant - criminal. All dances from 30s influenced movements of today but contemporary forms still all has its distinct local cultural stories. Detroit Jit is our narrative. Before getting emo do a little more research.
@@HardcoreDetroit this person should buy the dvd
@@uncleleroyshoodoocorner8113 they can watch it free on Amazon Prime
@@HardcoreDetroit I have to give credit where credit is do...There is no such thing as being a originator when it comes to dance....You can say you contributed to it but come on...Just to give Detroit some props?I loved the jitterbugs but that like saying they invented walking..
The Jitterbugs missed a great opportunity to start something great with this video, but chose to focus on the negative side of their history.. And honestly they were more business like and carried themselves quite sophisticated... They never carried themselves less than professional
