This is definitely one of the BEST MTB videos I've seen. You offer something different than most. Such a shame that you don't seem to post anymore and your website no longer exists.
I've seen a lot of your videos (they're great!). This one is THE BEST! I'd love to see more Backyard Drills. Those are useful for me and for my kids (12,12,11)
Thanks, Clay. Saw your message 6 months ago but just seeing it again now. Yep, another backyard drills vid sounds good. One for all the family. Added to the list! Thanks for the inspiration. Cheers. ~ Chris
Great video. These drills help a lot for me since I am unable to get out on the trails more than once a week. For more of a challenge try combining some of the drills. I put the vertical broom sticks in the center of the figure eight, then add rocks, sticks, etc. around the top and bottom of the figure eight. Simulates the trail a bit better.
Chris, Keep the videos coming! You are so helpful. My problem is I am 67 and need skills but not so stupid as to try crazy things a teenager would do with a sense of immorality😜
Excellent video and recommendations, Chris! Glad I happened upon this video. As Fall is here in Utah and we're now off Daylight Savings, these backyard drills are just the ticket to keep the cobwebs from settling in and my skills sharp.
I have two bikes at the moment - a 2012 Trek Fuel Ex 9.9 and a 2013 Trek Superfly Pro SL. The third bike is a mate's Niner Jet 9 Carbon. Cheers ~ Chris
These are brilliant. Beginners like me always wonder how do I build up skills safely to become a confident MTB rider. This video is my answer. Straight and flat roads for me until I can handle these exercises.
fantastic tips. been in a trail biking rut for a while now. been lagging behind during trail rides with my buddies coz I'm too scared to take on some obstacles along the trail without getting off my bike.

Yeah! It really helps. I did a similar thing but with a gate and I now don't come off as much due to balance.
hey amigo.. feliz cumpleaños de Ensenada mexico... good video ...gracias
Happy Birthday... Awesome tips Cris, really helping me a lot at my first rides on a mountain bike. Always have fun :)
Brilliant. Thank you
My pleasure, Glen.
exact!!, adding small stones/lumber can "create" different turns and with little practice you can roll closed cornering too fast, it really works!
That last set of obstacles is hilarious. I'm not making fun, it's awesome.
+Samuel Triplett Thanks, Groover. It was a ton of fun riding them, too.
~ Chris
My pleasure, Omar. Thanks. ~ Chris

Hello chris! What´s the frame size of your full suspension bike? Thanks a lot again for your tips!!
Very supportive and creative, thanks a lot...
My pleasure, Groover. ~ Chris
Can you comment on the 26 vs the 29? I've been considering getting a 29er, if I don't I'd just upgrade the suspension on my 26.
Thanks, love the vids!

Thanks, mate. Glad you appreciate it. ~ Chris
