Just started watching these chess videos. Can someone explain to me when a player hits the timer why does it add a few seconds rather than remove seconds?
@@dranzergigs8333 That's not the reason, it's so that you don't flag ( run out of time ) in a professional chess game. If you are winning, increment makes it so that you can still play ; most of the time its not a lot so its just enough time to keep you in the game.
I'm curious; at around the 5 minute mark, Magnus could play Nh5. If Dubov doesn't defend with something like Qf8, couldn't Magnus checkmate with Qg7#? What am I missing?
Just notice one fact , during that time each and every pawn and piece is defended at that point of time If he would have played that knight , it would have gone unchecked and what if dubov QE5 have played ( trading the queen or else attacking the knight ) and magnus would have forcefully done a queen trade or if not , dubov have had traded the queen in next turn .
@Nicholas Major Dubov got only 1 queen against Carlsen’s queen rook and knight. He couldnt defend against Carlsen with 1 queen. Besides, remaining 10 seconds you get 2 seconds per move. So it was impossible to win that game for Dubov and he resigned.
There’s rooks and pawns and a queen defending g3 before queen can advance to g2 ya butthead. Plus g3 pawn doesn’t even have to take the rook at f4… In chess we call your ideas butthole moves.
Daniil Dubov here was waiting for chess world champion Magnus Carlsen. Most of the times the slightly weaker players arrive early, just so that they won't be having a time disadvantage if they came late. Also Magnus likes to come just in time, never early for some reason
Magnus spent first 10 seconds setting up pieces
Always does
C'est beau ... Quelle intelligence de jeu ce Magnus !
I would like to recommend the Cyber Chess channel that is reproducing the world chess championships from 1886 until recently.
Didn't now Jordi El Nino playing professional chess
Niño* haha strangers can't use "ñ"
Didn't know Arteezy plays professional chess.
couldnt win a ti so he moved to chess.
What do they discuss post match ???
Strong video
Magnus told Daniil "really i know you could play better than that" 😆
why you don't make a new video :((( ,i miss you
An very nice action game.
That rook sac was way over the top.
hallo ......
owner this channel ?

It's called increment. In most of the professional games, you get a few seconds added per move you do (when you hit the clock).
@@marcelthiel1 I guess to compensate for the time wasted in moving your hand.

Wow Magnus!😲🔥
Amazing...👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥😎😎😎

It's correct but it's easily imagined step..he obviously will defend with queen

Who's the girl that follows Magnus like a bodyguard?
Dubov shouldn't have given Bishop...
Can someone explain me how was that last move a win?
Dubov resign because the rook sacrifice which didn’t work then he forgot about the bishop and he lost it

Yes Dubov had a black-out. Really
Magnus😍
6:30 fil ile almalıydı
Dubov actually can win if the rook take the knight first
sorry for the ignorance, but why would he resign when he would have won on time??
Time incrementation
@TheJedsdead there is increment means you get extra time like 1 or 2 seconds in that game per move , sometimes it's more.
He only had 1 power piece left and Magnus had 3.
Magnusssssss
Daniil really didnt played well this game
Daniil could have won if not mistaken in last few steps
Anda terlalu cepat Danil maen caturnya..yg Kao hadapi itu pemain top
Magnus can win in 10 sec?
Tell me if im wrong but dubov can take the knight with rook in 5:52, and then queen to g5 check, check to g2
daniil would still lose the rook cause after the pawn takes it, the queen cant go to g5 or else the pawn takes it as well
There is a pawn defending the g5 square after pawn takes rook
Bro ur right. Easy checkmate. I guess due to short time he was not able to think of that move.

I need to ask this question, why does the underdog always have to wait for the opponent? I dont know anything about chess tournament's.
alpha
nah i'm kidding idk either, maybe it's tradition or carlsen's ritual

5:59 is a stupid movement.. very naive.
why they not think on covid 19.

I thought the same, that rook sacrifice looked better in my opinion but i am no grandmaster😂 maybe he saw something bad in that variant
@@Sebastian_Marquez i think that fact of not beein GrandBlaster is no big deal if you think like one or even better.
Dubov g5 and win
At what move???
Dubov was better
At losing? Yeah true.
Why Dudov didnt checkmate Carsen by Q then B...
