Tyler: Humans almost fell into such a state. More than once, actually. Sovlin: Impossible. Tyler: Go ask Hunter about World War Two and the Soviet Union. In his time, that war was recent history while the Soviets were current events.
His entire arc so far was the demolition of his preconceptions. Pretty much everything that man used to believe in turned out to be a lie. The institution he thought was good and rightgeous turned out to be evil. The religion he followed with the calling it demanded from the Gojid was planted to keep them docile. His own species turned out to be omnivores "cured" by genetic modification. At the same time, everything he thought to know about predators was also false. The humans possessed strong empathy and did so for a long time. All the while the Arxur are now confirmed to have only turned into vile baby eaters because of conscious Federation meddling. There's not much more left for him to cling on.
We can hope that he can put his anger behind him. It's a bit hard to not have anything to outright hate and blame for your misfortune. If he starts seeing them as people, he will have to accept that what happened can't be blamed on anyone other than that one Arxur that did the act. If this war goes well in the end, he probably won't have a single living creature to direct his anger at anymore.
@@AnoAno94 I think it's pretty fair for blame to go all the way up the chain. That one individual, like Isif, would have been killed if he hesitated to eat Sovlin's babies. Similarly, Isif would have been killed, or at least lost the position of power he needed to ultimately rebel, had he failed to encourage such cruelty. Fault, guilt, responsibility, these things are rarely so straightforward as to lie entirely with one individual. Isif's entire arc is proof.
Ohh Sovlin, will you ever grow tired of being wrong? I can blame his reluctance though. It must feel like a terrible betrayal of his family to even try to consider then anything but a monster. The fight went as expected though and Isif remains just such a cool and complex character. Amazing as always Adastra
Trauma can be very pervasive and entrenched so I can kind of empathise with Sovlin a little, but props for Isif keeping a cool head. Might show Vysith that the arxur aren't all monsters... Thank you so much for the superthanks it's really appreciated 😊🙏
Reminder that Sovlin spent multiple decades with undiagnosed PTSD as well as Federation indoctrination. Relapses are to be expected, he's come extremely far in less than a year.
the best battles are won with words in the case of this chapter, a good win unfortunately, sometimes people are forced to fight and attempt to win with weapons in the case of the arxur, they lost the war with the totalitarians, and that brought them to the state they are in this chapter

Charging Sovlin for insubordination woulda been fun. Hes in the military in an advisory position rather then going to jail for his crimes against sentience for what would probably be the timespan of eternity. Its not like there are a whole lot of privileges or benefits he could lose, which would pretty much exclusively leave involuntary discharge followed by either jail or the extradition to the venlil following Tarvas request to hold him accountable for attempted murder if I remember correctly.

“That’s the problem with outliers. Left unchecked, you realize one day that they’ve become your whole society, in plain sight.” So true. So true.
Prescient words
Really great quote from this episode
Isif has had some of the greatest character development...
He combined with Felra, is my personal favorite duo. After that Noa and Tarva. Probably soon the first described interspecies love couple.
Isif just crashing through the window is not something I expected. XD
And not something I'd like to witness myself. Especially if I was Solvin.
Huh, Isif can speak quite well with an angry pincushion in his mouth.
Exactly what I was thinking 😆
It wouldn't be the first time Isif has had an angry pincushion in his mouth.
That is the problem for Sovlin. :(
OMG,I've always wanted Sovlin and Isif to meet, went exactly as I expected. Poor Gojid tried to fight an Arxur didn't go so well 😅

Ironic that sovlin falls prey to the very same Uncontrollable rage he accused isif will fall into.

Sovlin is going to have to grow. Is if is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters.

Great job as always Thank You.
In his defence, he was clearly extremely mentally unwell at the time. The fact that he's even here is still trespassing though 😅
Get there Sovlin! Amazing to see his growth throughout the series
Growth? For every foreword step he takes, he takes 3 steps backwards.
@@TowGunner Nah it's actually growth, If you want a character from this story who has actual negative character growth then Slanek is you man.
One of my fave chapters. Sovlin saw red man. Bro charged an Arxur 1v1. Talk about a predator diseased Gojid.
This new ark is honestly so good, I’m loving it
Just went to the hospital cuz of a kidney stone this morning. This video came out at the best time to cheer me up. Thanks!

The portrayal of the different characters' personal development seems so natural and unique, I really enjoy it.

Overall went very well for Sovlin.
Isif: What is "zoo"?
Tyler: Anytime a bunch of animals are in one place it's called a zoo.
Good thing Isfe decided to have a say on the matter

Not a huge fan of Vysith's voice. The echo just doesnt work for me
Also sounds a bit too much like Felra.
The previous two female Arxur were much better; Adastra must have been trying to capture more emotion and subtlety in her voice or something, maybe?
