There is no flavor in most of these cards. What does playing cards from the past have to do with a dragon thats a brewer? The design for ungoro is bland and boring as fuck and is far too similar to ozruk, a card that is also bland and boring as fuck.
Laggy Potato Well, the dragon is a Bronze Dragon so that’s the past stuff. Him being a brewer is just his choice. Un’guro is a LIVING ZONE. Yea, it’s simple. Yea, it’s kinda bland. But it’s still even the idea of a living zone, that’s pretty cool to me.
Fertifo True but that’s the same for little miss Time Tinkerer. Personally I could see a card using “Card from the past” as text could be a card that could stick around or something.
I mean a 15/15 is hard to deal with for a deck that doesn't have hard removal, but it's still possible. Something like a 192/192 is, practically speaking, entirely impossible for a deck without hard removal to deal with.
>waiting for 6 turns and using all your resources to keep one 5/5 alive and untouched just to get the 60/60 immediately destroyed by hard removal >"very creative"; "sounds like really fun"
They should make a new type of card, "forbidden minions" or something of the sort, which can't be recruited or cheated from your deck, it'd be almost like yu-gi-oh where some cards require sacrifices to be summoned. I think this would open up more printing possibilities, seeing as they're quite limited, as of right now, in regards to what they can print without breaking the game.
9 mana 192 192 gain a bunch of lackeys do random damage spawn two drops evolve other minions and do a bunch of other random stuff Regis: yeah seems balanced to me 😂 For real though probably not too op
Icarax, Wrath Lord doesnt reduce 1 cost per minion that survives damages: it is reduced by the amount of damage a minion survives. So if a minion survives 6 damage, its reduced by 6
These are some super flavorful cards... My card (Molten Tortoise) feels like I played WAY too safe when I made it compared to all these insane cards :O
shudderwock otk: ever-growing ooze, leatherclad hogleader, and coldlight oracle. Put 2 coldlights in the deck along with a bunch of lackeys to help with quest completion and some cheap spells and healing. Makes it quite possible to kill most opponents on turn 9 regardless of anything besides ice block, esp if you use a fencing coach + hero power to double your shudderwock's battlecry.
Evergrowing ooze shudderwock shaman would actually be a thing because blazing invocation can get both of them, and if you play 2 ooze before shudderwock it will get doubled 10 times.
I find that Ozumat has the design flaw of that if you can make a deck that can cheat out big minions (like Big Warrior, using dimensional ripper would be insane. Same with using it with boomship. Though, you are definitely right that lot of theses big cards can be destroyed quite easily.) I think an easy way to fix this is have a non-battlecry effect of: When this minions is summoned, Summon 2 Permanent Shipwrecks That's just my thoughts on that card
A lot of people making these cards seem to have forgotten about cheat out effects like recruit. There’s a reason why all the huge minions in the actual game have such specific requirements to be summoned.
Bronze brewer card would never be printed because it would be a weird interaction with wild. With Toki, it only generates a single card but if a card like the Brewer existed, playing 16 cards in wild is 2 free 8/24(?) which is pretty crazy. And it can even be duplicated with cards. Or even playing 11 cards and turn 12 10 mana 16/48 worth of stats.
1) Wrathguard, Treachery, Ratcatcher. No. 2) Never lives past the first turn, so the effect is irrelevant 3) That's actually a solid card 4) Shirvallah for Warrior? After their insane control cards rotate out, I'm down for that 5) Cool concept, but HS doesn't have a clean way to present the option to pay with armor 6) Unlike other giants, this one may come down way too soon for way less mana than it should be (not to mention 24 health on a taunt is too much) 7) Works with Violet Illusionist, but you wouldn't be running this package. Otherwise, a win more card 8) Sure. 10 mana flat 20/20 with no ability is fine. 9) Handbuff cards don't work unless they can be consistently buffed or have Taunt to make up for tempo loss spent on handbuffing 10) Without Warpath this will almost never come down to playable mana cost A general note on all cards: there are ways for several classes to cheat big minions and resurrect them. Shadow Essense into a 20/20, then Psychopomp to summon it back with Reborn is not okay. If you say "The Ancient One", The Ancient One was designed before all this mana cheating.
I would like to correct something you said, because not enough people correct you already: there is a pretty huge difference between 15/15 and 30/30: one of those ends the game if it can attack face, the other does not. beyond 30/30, it stops really mattering outside of select matchups, but there's a reason why 30/30 is the biggest raw statblock we'll ever see, from a design standpoint.
Honestly, the biggest problem with all of these huge minions is the hitpoints. if they were say, 30 mana 30/15 or something, I could see them being printed. That and/or getting most of their stats in the form of a silence-able buff.
8:32 I think you kind of missed what the card was about (or maybe you didn't, but you didn't really mention it at any rate), which is just playing it in Wild format. Sure, if there's some future "from the past" cards that are created it could work; but as it stands now, I'm fairly certain you could already play it in Wild and discount it for any Wild-only card you play, which is probably why it's difficult to reduce it otherwise (1 mana less _for each Wild card you happen to get_ would be a steep requirement in any non-Wild world). Come to think of it, a card that's mainly designed with Wild in mind is interesting in itself.
The problem with the first card is that it's just risk almost no reward, since it doesn't have charge, rush or taunt meaning you summon it asleep with 5 ho going to enemy turn and you take 2 dmg next turn meaning you have 1 turn to use it if your opponent didn't already deal 3
I think the main issue for these giant minions is not how they are supposed to be summoned, but how they would be summoned. There are too many effects summoning from decks or hand. There would be a need of some kind of keyword or just rule text of "Can only be summoned by its own effect and not copied"

I'm so glad you made the point about the bronze brewer, however, I also think the reason people design that way is due to how others, such as Trump, do custom card reviews.
