John, this song is one of your best.......it grabbed me from the beginning. I love the lyrics, and the rhythm of the music is perfect. I will listen again and again.........I've added it to my favorites.

This is just beautiful!! The melody has a Simon and Garfunkel feeling to it, and the poetry of the lyrics. The sound you always get is wonderful. You really know how to write a song John!
@RoseAkerman thanks very much Rose. I can see the Simon and Garfunkel thing for sure. I actually wrote this song after seeing Ian Moss in concert. He was in a great aussie band called Cold Chisel. They have a wonderful song called Flame Trees. Mossy did a wonderful live version of it. I thought I'd love to be able to write a song a bit like that. My song isn't a patch on that one written by Don Walker. But I was still happy with it.
@@johnhaydock1577 I just listened to that song... It's got a kind of wild abandon to it, and yet it hangs together. Very emotional to me. It's the kind of thing you can really feel.
@RoseAkerman - glad you liked it Rose. It's a classic here in Australia. Don Walker has written some wonderful songs. That one has a certain quality that touches everybody who hears it. Mossy did a wonderful bluesy version of it which was also amazing.
