Thank you Trisagion 😊. You do God's work in enlightening the community towards repentance and salvation. As you all know, this is a lifetime struggle to attain our Lord's Kingdom. God bless you all 🙏.
This is very helpful and informative, it does and it will help me with my fasting! I wish everyone a blessed fast and good Christmas! May Christ be with you all! ☦
Trisagion Films could you please tell me the name of the Psalm which you have used as an Intro for der Saint Spyridon Video. I love it and I can't find it!
Thank you very much for this video Fr. Panayiotis and I am very glad to see you, may God grant you and to all of your dear ones a very profitable fast ❤❤❤
Thank you father this is a topic that I have been interested in. I know my parents fast but it's hard to get a straight answer out of them. I think they don't eat meat or dairy for a few days before communion? Could you give us specifics on how to start and then we can adjust if needed to our abilities? Specifically what should we refrain from eating (meat, fish, anything) and drinking (only water is allowed/nothing is allowed?), and what type of time frames should we be looking at? I remember reading in Eustace Mullins all ancient healing practices began with purification and fasting. Thank you again father, any additional info on this topic would be very helpful.
In Orthodoxy, we fast all year round on Wednesdays and Fridays. We also fast for 40 days before Christmas, 40 days before Easter (Great Lent), from 1-15 of August for the Dormition of the Theotokos, as well as a couple other days were certain saints are celebrated. Be sure to ask your spiritual father for instructions, as fasting may apply a bit differently to each person, depending on each person's condition and capabilities.
@andreasliou007 I'm orthodox too thats why I tried to ask my parents. So on Wednesdays and Friday you eat and drink nothing? Is water ok? Details please lol.
@javierjalisco17 On Wednesdays and Fridays, you eat whatever the church and your spiritual father advise you to eat. Only ascetics and very strict ones eat nothing or only water and bread during fasts. That's a different level. It would help if you moved slowly before doing something like that, and even then, outside the monastery, most people eat regular meals(fasting ones). Usually, if you look up your parish or diocese website, it will tell you what is and isn't allowed. I would not recommend cutting out everything and only drinking water and bread. Talk to a priest.
There are two movies of Saint Charbel here on youtube. One older, and one more recent, both are great movies. In case you did not know. May God Bless You.
This channel is one of the best continuing catechisms of Orthodoxy. Offering something new and amazing every upload
