- Steamlocomotive 29.013 is Belgian heritage and back in service. In august 2019 the loco worked hard on the steep grades of the Bocq railway between Bauche and Ciney. The steamer was the star of the railfest at Spontin organised by PFT/TSP.
Prachtige loc, prachtige opnamen.
What’s the point in working the engine like that on such a light load? At 5:59 you can clearly see she is running at about 50% cut-off. She’ll happily take 30% going up there. It doesn’t show professional enginemen skills, just unnecessary showboating.
The crew can never run on mainline in Belgium. Sadly because of regulations. This is why the loco had been stored for years. New crews run on only few occasions on heritage railroads. Only 3 times this year. We are happy to see the loco running its a learning point for everyone.
Best Captains always stand at the side. Easy to criticize. We like 'the showboating' for it's all we have running as a steam engine in B. We don't need your kind of pro's !
@@phil36310 for your information, I’ve driven this locomotive myself for 5 years until the reorganisation of b-holding and the loco came under care of Belgian Railways passenger. Bholding used also steam drivers from external companies which Belgian railways didn’t want to do. I also own Steam locomotive WD196 which I fully restored. So I think I can speak with some authority and experience
@@phil36310 if you don’t believe me by the way, check the driver in this video and compare to my profile picture. ua-cam.com/video/rSQ6srARzgs/v-deo.html
Notice how I have the locomotive notched up correctly has she is whispering contently. (The fireman was a trainee). I grew up with full size steam locomotives. So if you want to question me, go ahead.
