"Hymns & Gospel Music" (Complete) - Ralph Carmichael Orchestra with Kathryn Thompson, Harp

“Hymns and Gospel Music of the Christian Faith” (the complete LP) is one of Ralph Carmichael’s early recordings. It featured his orchestra along with the harp artistry of Kathryn Thompson. Kathryn was a very busy harpist in Los Angeles, playing on numerous recordings with such big-name artists as Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland and Nat King Cole. This album was released on the Christian Faith label in the late 1950’s during the transition from mono to stereo and from 10-inch to 12-inch LPs. There were at least three versions of the record that all had the same artwork but with different color backgrounds - the regular album release (red cover) plus one that was printed in Spanish (light blue color). The album was also shared with Chapel Records under the title of “Celestial Strings” (on a 10-inch record and a pink cover with two less tracks). There were eight tracks on the full record with ten songs.
