Thank you so much for posting this! I go in 2 days for the surgery, I have had mine for over a year. I'm terrified but it gives me hope that you had a good experience as well as others in the comments 🙏🙏🙏
I wouldn't even call it surgery lol they inject the eye lid area, flip the eye lid over, make a cut to drain what was in there and you're done. The preparation is longer than the procedure. You're gonna do just fine. 🙏🏽
@@RogerBStillzdid you have any eye drooping after? Alot of people say that happened to them...
@Amanda scorpio life yeah it will be a bit swollen after the procedure. The entire healing process will be about 2 weeks
I had my chalazion surgery today. Dr injected my eyelid, it did hurt but for me the worse part was the actual removal. It hurt. Not unbearable though. My chalazion was pretty big and I had had it for 5 months. Dr gave me ointment cream and I’m currently wearing an eyepatch. Hopefully it’ll heal soon. Thanks so much for your video!
Glad you got it done Maria & glad it wasn't that bad. I'm sure it will heal soon. My took about 2 weeks to fully heal. Glad I could help and thanks for the update.
I bookmarked your vid JUST to make sure I can comment after I get my surgery lol.
Just got it done less than an hour ago and it wasn't bad AT ALL. thank you SO much for your video--it really and truly helped. I HATE needles + i suffer w/anxiety so that didn't help. I got like 5 shots but they really were like baby pinches. Plus I only felt the first two or so. My eye is currently swollen so i'm just waiting for that to calm down now. keep inspiring people!!
Aww glad to hear it wasn't that bad and that it went well for you 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👌🏽
@@RogerBStillz do you have any advice on aftercare? I read online that I'm supposed to be putting hot compress on it but no doctor told me that (have called many times w/no answer). There's still a little bump after 7 days and I'm scarred i'm gonna look like this forever :/
@@gailgillespie331 yea u can apply the warm compress like twice a day. I think i had a small bump on mine up to 2 weeks after but eventually it went away.
@@RogerBStillz thank you !!
Hi everyone, just posting here to share some feedback about my surgery. Due to the fact that mine was very large the surgery was a bit more complicated and thus induced quite a bit of pain even with anesthetics, however I am feeling OK just one hour after the surgery I’m back home. I do have a patch on my eye to keep it sanitized. but tomorrow I’m scheduled to go back and have the doctor check on my eye; everything went smoothly otherwise so I have nothing bad to say against the surgery, Don’t be afraid just go and do it especially don’t wait as much as I’ve waited because as it grows larger the operation becomes more difficult and painful. The pain is very bearable even during the surgery but I can’t see there is none. However I really don’t want anyone to be afraid of this. what helped me was to talk to the doctor during the surgery about myself and what I do at work, to keep my mind busy from what was actually going on
Thanks for the update and glad it went well 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hey Roger....just wanted to thank you for your post....I literally couldn't have survived the champion surgery without you! Had my surgery today and it's like you said....I survived....wasn't that painful...even the injection.....everything went well so bad to thank you for your post...probably watched you a dozen times but you got me to go! Thanks😀

@@melaniemayplaciente5012 yes it is thanks for asking. Hope yours is as well.
Thank you thank you thank you. I hate needles also that's about 95% of my anxiety with it. Watching your video put me at ease.
Glad I could help. It's not that bad trust me and it's coming from someone who's terrified of needles
I had my surgery done day before yesterday and your video was really helpful. Thanks, it's bleeded a bit 5 hrs prior to the surgery but i read that it's normal. Also it's a bit swollen but I guess by taking the post op carefully it'll become normal.
So glad to hear that you went and got it taken care of and glad my video was helpful. Wishing you a speedy recovery. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Just like the girl you mentioned in the video I’ve had my chalazion for 2 weeks and just had my surgery today. Lol I don’t know why people wait months-year to see if home remedies will work. Thanks for this video! If you’re worried about the surgery please don’t. It was fast and painless.
You're welcome and glad u dealt with yours quickly
This is the absolute truth about styes! When you first get a stye it's best to start using the compression then and there! My little cousin got one and the put a hot water bottle on it all night and by morning it went away. The oil had time all night to loosen up since it was hardening and clogged. Compressions 4-6 times a day can work too if you do it as soon as you get it. I delayed mine for about 2 months and then started the compressions but it was hard by then. I even got a USB heated eye mask to wear at night, treid salt water, tried the apple cider vinegar which just burns the skin but doens't do anything for the stye because it has already hardened. Although I'm weird with needles my stye was small ish on my right lower eyelid. It's soo annoying! After over a year I got it removed 5 days ago! The process was about 5 minutes as he said, I'm not comfortable with drops too but it's easy. the injection was like a tiny pinch and then I didn't feel it. the clamp and draining was soo quick, I assumed the clamp has just been put on but the doctor had finished! it's been 5 days and my eye bag area still is bruised and my eyelid itself is red and the side part near the middle of my eyelid seems like blood is clogged or whatever. It seems the bump is still there. Now, I don't know if the stye has been properly removed but I've still been taking my Chlorampehnicol 1.0% eye ointment as given by the doctor and told me to use it 4 times a day for 5 days and don't use after 5. I would feel satisfied if the bruising and redness was there, as long as the bump itself was gone. After surgery I took a peak on my snapchat camera but my eyelid was swollen so I couldn't tell if it had gone or if it was still there! The bruising and redness is slowly going but it feels the bump is still there but softer, not as hard as it was before. Does the stye continue to drain or is this it? I don't want to go back again. I feel as if he didn't fully drain it! Annoying almost over a year later! Anyone who gets a stye deal and do it naturally AS SOON ASA YOU GET IT! So many people have had it from my cousins and it went within days but they dealt with it ASAP, I delayed it! If you do surgery then make sure to communicate with the damn doctor and tell him to remove it properly! I need to give it 1-2 weeks to fully see what happens. Feel free to reply or comment. I'll update this comment in 2 weeks or whatever to see what's going on!
Thanks for your detailed breakdown lol glad you got it removed and I would give it about a week b4 seeing if the Dr did a good job or not. The bump should eventually go away. Hope in a week or 2 you will be 100%. Keep me posted and thanks for sharing your story.
@@RogerBStillz It's been 6 days, I went to eye casualty to get it checked and lukickly I saw my doctor wandering around who did the incision. I stopped his ass and said am I going to waste my time sitting here for a check up as there's so many people waiting. He had a quick look while everyone was watching lmfao! He said it could be there as there's lot's of different glands there. He then had to go and another doctor told me that it let it fully heal, seems as if tiny bruising and tiny blood remains, but it seems to have all gone bu the tiny bump seems there. I will use hot compressions for a month for 4 times a day 10-15 minutes and hopefully it shall be gone. It looks fine now but the bump is annoying me, it's small but if I look in the mirror it's there and I can feel it. Let's see how a month of compressions does me, if not I'm going back.
@@TehDwelleR 🤣🤣 it's gonna be fine. I do remember that after my surgery I was wondering the same about the bump still being there but it eventually went away. I also did the warm compress post surgery. Glad to hear its getting better and thanks for the update ✊🏽✊🏽

It won't be bad TBH lol after injecting the eyelid you won't feel anything or hear anything. Nothing worth stressing over trust me. You'll be fine
How did it go for you?
Hi , i am from dallas texas ...i went to an eye specialist after going to local doctors various of times....i would try various of things from tea tree oil , hot compressor , multiple eye oitments & antibiotics & NOTHING worked. Had my styes for 6 months since june or july ...& i finally decided to go ahead & get treated. The treatment is really quick ..especially if its just on one eye ( i got both of my eyes lanced). The needle doesn’t hurt at all! I was really nervous too all for it to be a painless pinch. The only thing i can say bad about this surgery was the clamp...extremely uncomfortable ! Seriously...not a pleasant feeling. Other than that. Quick procedure ..keep in mind i am 18 years old. Just got it done so lets see how it heals afterwards in a couple of days.
Forgot to mention that afterwards exiting the room...about 10/15 minutes later..thats when the pain kicked in..unbearable pain ..really tender & sore..however it went away after another 20 minutes.
Hi I’m dealing with this in Dallas Texas too!! Who did you go to and how did you heal? I’ve had mine a month and I have tried EVERYTHInG. 😢 looks like a pea sized lump on lid and when I flip inside out it looks like a pimple 😭
My stye is on my right eyelid, it's fully healed but it's a painful bump. Can't wait to get rid of it, fingers cross it's not that bad experience.🤞
It shouldn't be a bad experience
i think i've just got a very little chalazion/stye on my left upper eyelide from last friday. it just feel so uncomfortable and it always make my left eye shed tears (not much), also it makes my vision kinda blurry...well it probably because the tears keep getting in my eye vision. going to check it to doctor on tuesday and if surgery really necessary then I will do it for sure. btw i'm so glad that i found your video dude, it makes me feel less scared now lol. i surely will gave you an update for my case, wish me luck. *sorry for my bad english
Surgery may not be necessary at first and hopefully that's the case for you. I went to my doctor 3 times b4 the actual surgery where they prescribed medication. Its after the medication failed they did the surgery. Keep me updated. You're gonna be fine.
i have chalazian since 10 months but i m very scared to go for surgery as many people says it dont go completly and recurre again. i m very confused. what to do. i just want to get rid of this quickly .
Go and get it done before u blink it will be over. I was all worked up to go and do it and when I sat down and they were like we are finished I couldn't believe it. The injection stings but that's all u feel. Go knock it out and get rid of it already. When it's over u gonna wish u did it earlier.

Great video. I’m doing the surgery soon. About how long before swelling went away?
Thanks. After the procedure I would say it took about 2 weeks before everything went back to normal. I'm sure everything will go well with your procedure.
Hi ! Did you apply warm compress on the day of the surgery as well ? My Dr has given me an ointment but hasn't advised anything with regards to the warm compress.
Hi. I don't recall applying a warm compress on the day of surgery.
I'm scared about my surgery people say there eyelids didnt go back to normal and there blurry vision :( my surgery is tomorow and I'm afraid of needles
Nothing to be scared about at all. I'm the biggest ***** when it comes to needles and i got so hype up for nothing. They do inject you which you feel for like a second and after that you don't feel anything at all. My eyelid is completely fine and nothing happened to my vision. Only thing I wished I did was get it done sooner instead of being scared. You're gonna be fine tomorrow. Let me know how it goes.
I'm going to have my surgery after 6 days, I'm very scared. I am only 20 years old! (I have small chalazion on my right lower eyelid.) Also, I got Vitamin B12 Deficiency, just completed my 14 injections and he gave me vitamin tablets now. And this is another thing for me now! Please tell me how to be strong in surgery. After watching your video I'm going for surgery!
You'll be fine stop worrying. Don't be like me. I worried for no reason. They inject the area and after that u feel nothing. It was all finished 5min later after they injected me. You'll be just fine. You don't get more minor than this.
Thank you very much, it means a lot.
Ty for the video
I think I'm having the surgery tomorrow and, like u, I'm scared of needles and blood and I'm horrified. I just cry and cry and I'm so scared because I don't know what to expect and I'm scared of surgeries.

How long did it take you to recover and finally have your eye back to normal? It’s been two weeks for me and it feels like where my stye was is STILL there. I don’t feel any pain but I still see blurry. In fact worse than before.
So sorry to hear that Ron. I think in total by week 2 I was good to go and yes eyebis back to normal. See blurry doesnt sound good at all. Did you check in with your Dr on this blurriness?
Roger B Stillz I left a voicemail today. The bump did get smaller, I’m just confused as to why I still don’t see that perfectly well in my left eye. Does it take time?

@@PabloTheGreat1 what ended up happening? Did you end up feeling better soon after this post? How did your recovery go?
@@molkisha so because of my chalazion being there for so long I had to get drops to make sure my droopy eye would go back to normal. It somewhat did but it’s still kinda screwed up so eventually I’m going to need surgery to correct it back to normal.
The recovery was fine. After a day or two I was back to normal, but you have to just make sure you compress it with cool stuff
Is there any bump after the surgery?
None at all.
Hi i have had chalazion in my lower eyelid for 1 year 4 months. I want to get it removed but im nervous and scared its also causing me a lot of stress. Im currently 15 years old would you mind giving me some tips to build confidence and not be scared to do it.
Go get it removed. It's not a bad procedure at all. They will inject the eyelid n after u won't feel anything. They will then flip the eyelid over n clamp it and then drain it. Once they actually start its like a 5min procedure. After it's all over you're gonna wish u had gone n done it earlier. I'm terrified of needles but it's worth doing. I drove myself there and home so it's not that bad at all. Go knock it out n let me know how it goes.

What should I do if I go to the doctor again and they refuse surgery due to my age again (I am currently 15)?
@@thuli7583 I would have a parent go with you so they can tell the doctor what you would like done. I would definitely have them deal with it. Its not a major surgery so you will be fine. They did mine in under 10min. Also you don't have to worry about scar because the incision is done under the eyelid so you will never see the scar. Having on both eyes must be challenging so I say go and get them removed and ask to make sure the cut is done under the eyelid not on the outer part. They will inject you and thats all the pain you will feel. Hope everything goes well for you 🙏🏽🙏🏽
how was your recovery
Recovery went well. No issues at all
Easy 100% had my regular poker nite same day....no pain after amnesia wore off....ezpz
what did the surgery cost?
Can't recall but I believe under $200. I also have insurance.
@@RogerBStillz thanks for the reply going to get mine removed next Tuesday.
@@RogerBStillz Mine was successful it cost me $444 no insurance to high in my state. Glad o had it done it was a little bit painful.
@@Kinggodzilla16 ok cool thanks for the follow up and glad you got it done. In about 2 weeks u should be at 💯
Thanks for the video but Bro ...you are wrong about one thing!! there is somebody who is more afraid of needles and that's me......trust me i'm 5 times worst than you...but thanks anyways...
You're welcome but I'm sure I top you lol
@@RogerBStillz no you dont dude....i passed out one time on routine blood work......i also demand they count to 3 before they do any injections.....one time dr sent me to lab when i was real sick to get blood work and i went to parking lot and took off....then the hospital startrd looking for me.......

How much did it cost? I don’t have insurance 😔
I’m close to the same center so I’m interested
@@DCFlow-em6zy honestly i don't recall but I did have insurance and it was that much. I think it was under $200. Call them and find out.
Hi, how Long does the swelling last?
Swelling lasted about 5 days after surgery, but after about 2-3 days you could see noticable difference
Roger B Stillz how Long was ur chalazion lasted for before u had it remove?
Like 3-4 months
Roger B Stillz is it hard ? Because mine was quite Long too and my doctor told me that the cyst shell is left behind after surgery and will takes few weeks to go away. Was wondering if urs is the same?
No not hard. After surgery in about 2-3 days swelling was down. In about a week almost back to normal. But no wasn't hard
Do u be awake when u have the surgery
And do u have to go to school the next day
And I’ve got 2 styes in one eye and another one in the other so
Yes it takes like 5-10min after they give you injection.
@@iqrashafqat8593 so you'll get injection in each eye and about 5-10min each eye. Yes you should be able to attend school the next day. I drove myself home after my surgery.
@@RogerBStillz okay thank you for the information , will I have a bandaged around both eyes because I’ve watched videos and they have it on
Its not a stye
I got mine in 2 weeks uncs
Is it painful?? I am.nervous as i am scheduled for it
@@s.channa7228 honestly it just stings a bit when they put the numbing needing in and when they flip it you’ll feel a little pain but it’ll be over before you know it. After the procedure is done and your eye is healed make sure you keep up with eye lid hygiene and omega 3s 3 grams of omega 3s and wash your eye when you wake up and before you sleep do NOT itch your eye
I just got another in December on the same eye lid but I started to take care of my eye and it’s going away salt wash with colloidal silver and the ointment before I sleep.
Hope it never comes back for you & I hope my tips helped don’t worry it’ll be over before you know it !
I just had a Chalazion removed last week. Eyelid is still puffy and seems like it’s holding water. My surgeon never even gave me an eyepatch. When I first left the office, it was not swollen but the next day it was puffy again, and has remained puffy for going on 11 days now. My recommendation is to definitely get a ride Nobody in the medical office encouraged me to have a ride to pick me up and drive me home. My eye was definitely bothering me to the point where I did not feel safe. Driving home. From my research, it looks like I have Ptosis as my eyelid is droopy still. It does not match the other one. Prior to surgery, This was ongoing for 3 months from a blocked gland. I still feel it’s clogged somehow even after surgery. Not sure if it was from when I touched my eye with some bacteria on accident or possible face or eye creams with retinoids I heard. My eye blew up got very swollen. Used every home remedy such as tea tree, turmeric, tons of antivirals like oregano oil and garlic and was also prescribed steroid drops and antibiotic doxycycline. I’m wondering how to clean the lid if it’s still clogged if it’s a gland. I dunno but wish my eye would go back to normal. Might seek out a steroid drop for my eyelid. Will post video eventually on my experience with this. On further inspection it definitely looks like ptosis as it’s only my left upper eyelid. It’s so embarrassing and I’m getting so frustrated and close to the edge. Can’t take much more. I wonder if it was from the retinoid creams, because personally, I feel like it is droopy from still holding a Adema and swelling. Somehow it is holding more water and or not properly draining. I also wonder if it is allergic, maybe it is my memory foam mattress that I got recently.perhaps it was from an infection from touching my eye. My honest thought is maybe I got it by touching it after sexual intercourse with my gf as she found out she had a uti shortly after I got my blepharitis. Thanks for any input. I’m hoping to get a kenalog injection and wish I would’ve did it originally rather then cuttreage incision. This is been by far the most frustrating and embarrassing thing of my life. I also fractured my hand a few years ago and I thought that chronic pain made me depressed. This is really getting to me.
How much did the surgery cost?
Don't recall to be honest but I think I paid less than $200 but I also have insurance.
@@RogerBStillz thank you! That was a fast reply haha
im thinking about getting the surgery next month. what sucks the most is that i have persistent chalazia on both of my eyes which means i need to do the surgery twice😭 and many people on the internet say injecting local anesthesia on eyelids hurt like hell.... im so scared. but your video encouraged me and now i feel a little better. thank you!
Honestly its not that bad. I HATE needles/injection but it stings for like 2sec then after that you feel nothing. I was terrified for days b4 my surgery for no reason at all. Go get it done and have your eyes looking normal again. Let me know how it goes.
I got my surgery done 4 days ago but still an annoying bump is there. That is not so hard nor so soft. According to Doctor it is scar tissue that will take time. Did you also go through this? how many days took bump/scar tissue to go away completely? I’m so annoyed
Glad all went well with your surgery. Yes I also had a bump after my surgery and don't recall how long it was there but maybe around 2 weeks. I thought it was annoying also but it eventually goes away.
Let’s pray mine also go away. I’m massaging it as my Doctor told me to do.
@@mehwishnaeem1195 it will lol my doctor also told me to still apply warm compress after the surgery, not sure if yours told u that. Hang in there
Roger B Stillz yes he told me to do hot compress and massage and I have started doing it . I hope mine will go away soon.
How was it?
During the time you had your stye did your eye get red and hard to see the light ?
No it didn't
is it expensive to get the surgery and can you drive yourself to your appointment?
No it wasn't expensive but I also have insurance. I don't remember actual cost but I believe it was less than $300. I also drove myself there and home after the surgery.
@@RogerBStillz Thank you for the feedback. Did you have any complications with the surgery following the procedure and did the bump by the chalazion go away completely? I have a rather large one on my upper right lid and I've been following the instructions with the warm compresses and I don't see a lot of changes and if there is a change it's very slow for me.
@@scorpionoir4952 no complications after my surgery. U will still have a small bump after the surgery but after like two weeks it will go away.

I know it’s a year on from this, but have you got anymore to say like was there still a small bump after wards, did it come back or anything like that. Thanks
Haven't gotten anymore thankfully. And after the surgery there was a bump but it eventually went away.
@@RogerBStillz ahhh right okay thanks for the reply
@@RogerBStillz do you have to do any daily procedures that your surgeon recommended you do to prevent any chalazions from coming back ?
@@harrisondavenport2260 no I didn't. But I would recommend the warm compress twice a month which would help open up the pours around the eye to avoid any build up 🤷🏽♂️
@@RogerBStillz yeh I was thinking about that’s what I might have to do. Even once a week I wouldn’t mind. I currently have 4 chalazion 1 on my left eye that has been there for 4 months three smaller ones on my right eye that have been there for about a month. I have tried warm compress for 10 or so days and they have gotten larger and I think the only way to get rid of them is surgery.
