- For those of you who don't know, PUBG was first released in third-person only. This game - the first full game recap chocoTaco ever posted to his UA-cam channel but has since mysteriously been made Private for unknown reasons - originally aired on August 23, 2017, which was very shortly after PUBG first released their FPP mode. So enjoy some vintage choco, dear viewer. Many of the comments in this video have aged well, and the game is, of course, full of classic Kar98 headshots. This is the classic PUBG gameplay I remember, the panic attack upon landing and running through 4 houses only finding a shotgun. Good times.

Agree. I'd argue it "takes longer" to loot now because it's fairly easy to find your gun of choice (kitted) if you don't hot drop. I wish box harvesting was more rewarding like it was originally.
Or finding pair of pants and a few t shirts
@@edwardwnewland It depends on how you look things.. the gameplay has become so much faster these days that if you had to run 4 houses just to find a damn shotgun there would be 0 players in the game. just look what people are saying about maps that has less loot now

Would've been neat if Choco watched along with us in this video and gave us commentary and insights of what he would do differently these days compared to when he played back then.

There was decent meds then for some unknown reason they changed it to where you’re lucky to leave a town with 1-2 first aids.
@@rdeez5974 no. There is no problem to find meds. Also there is too much loot in genersl. Who need 10 snipers/dmrs and a truck load of full auto guns in 1 warehouse?

Wow, looking back at the days really bring some memories back. Especially when the game used to be a survival game and choco actually DROPS THE COMP to pick up the suppressor.

To think of how many careers this game helped over the years is insane! Now playing it is still fun because I'm very new to it still. But to watch the years go by in video format is wild! I love how classic Chocoisms are still there from day 1 (700 hrs) in lol. I'll be patiently waiting for Chocolate Tocolate's return to the PUB game. Until then, I'll watch whatever Beth puts out! Stay groovy my friends!

Ya know, it's amazing how far a game can go and yet take so many steps backwards while doing so. The game could be the absolute best there ever was for a BR. The choices the creators make are mind boggling.
The game that made reddit say that this company listens to feedback....
This was before Brendan sold it to Bluehole and the crap S. Korean developers of the last few years with their"Let's charge 1700 bucks for a skin" direction.

It's astonishing to see how many of the issues Choco still wants to see changed today were issues from day 1... No meds, no guns, red zones in general and even repeated red zones in the same area. Move forward 5 years in time and PUBG managed to solve exactly.... none of them. Round of applause everyone

It’s amazing that it hasn’t changed but all of a sudden he has huge problems with it. I enjoy the days when he just played and didn’t whine about it. When you play a game for 10k hours stuff gets on your nerves, I get it
@@GrapplingwithPhysics Not really suddenly, to be honest. He's always complained about these parts of the game but the gameplay always outweighed the negatives. Good queues, strong player base, and a popular game all made it worth the annoyances. But now nobody's playing, the game is constantly bugging out, they bring out additional content that is ridiculous expensive, and STILL the issues are not fixed. It's not sudden, it's the fact that every positive thing slowly disappeared.
Thank you so much for resurrecting this video. Seeing the most classic of Choco videos makes the hundreds of hours I've watched of his all the better. Looking forward to the next classic!!

To be honest its weird that he is having these problems, I play every day 2-3 hours and almost never crash. I'm sure he has a hardware problem or some sort of compatibility issue./

I play for hours on end and I've had the game crash like 5 times total. I think it's something to do with streaming, overloads on the servers, etc. As a casual player I've really never had a problem with it, and my PC is very basic basic. Store bought pre built basic lol

Always had great content - I love how some of the same game issues in this video are still issues today (lack of meds). Speaks to the developers' willingness to create a playable game.

yeah his looting game was alway bad. In the video where he unistalls due to crash. One of first things he looted was lvl 2 helmet just to swap it for lvl 1 10 seconds later :D

Choco now: take any pistol with all the accessories

For casual PUBG player like me, this was the golden time of PUBG. No stupid spotter scope, drive by's. gliders or full auto sprays from 200m to instakill you before you even see something. I am not playing PUBG for years now but that PUBG shown here was my game!

This game was amazing back when you the loot was so bad, that it made it so you had to work with what you found and you had to be more tactical and kill other people for the loot from their town/kills and then at end game you were decently powerful if you actually went for kills
