Thank you Bill Stewart. Thank you !!!
Good to have Doug Weiss back on American soil
A true all-star band. I've seen Steve Nelson many times with Dave Holland. Cool to hear him along with a good pianist here.

dude is a swing machine
Totally agree! Curious about his rides. Are those horizontally drilled?
That's what I came here to say!! The immutable
Sheeeesh what a bad tune!!!
Beautiful!
Is that an original composition? Who wrote it?
What's that red cord doing along the full width of Kevin's piano keyboard? Never saw something like it. The keys even have little holes for the cord to go through.
i think that is felt to protect the keys from being damaged by the lid, very common on grand pianos
Sorry, but Steve Nelson's playing seems really off. Very odd. Not the "out there" tha makes sense.
Disagree, speaking as a jazz musician. It’s not even “out” playing (unless you’re comparing it to something like Milt Jackson playing a standard 60 years ago). Just a modern composition approached in a modern way. He’s playing in time and on the chord changes. His solo includes a few mildly idiosyncratic rhythmic and note choices, especially near the start, that are quite reasonable and in the spirit of this music and modern playing, and make sense to set some contrast with the other chordal instrument in the band. Perfectly couth.
I'd put up with any of steve nelson's inadequacies haha ha. It sounds like he's listening. Not trying to be an ego centric show off.
Reminiscent of Bobby Hutcherson’s 60’s Blue Note sound
