Now that I'm almost 30, and I basically grew up watching this dance crew for more than a decade,
It is safe to say I think what makes Jabbawockeez a truly incredible and unique experience is the Mask.
The mask their Symbol. It is their iconic brand. The mask hides the person underneath it. You won't know who is dancing and It makes you appreciate their art, their dancing, even more.
They convey and express their emotion through dancing. Their choreography, the skill and long hours of hard work each member put to present us loyal fans and viewers 1000% their best is humbling. Their dedication makes old and new fans alike feel so loved, as if we're part of a family.
I wish this dance crew will hold on and keep existing forever, no matter who dance behind that mask.
I want to introduce my children to that awe inspiring moment I felt when I first saw them dance on that stage years ago when Jabbawockeez had just debuted.
Thank you, for the bottom of my heart.
In order to truly appreciate the crew for those who are new to them. Go watch all their performance from 2004 till now. Their first ever performance with the black ski mask in 2003. The audio got taken out.
What truly makes them unique is that they are "One" crew. The mask unifies them and makes the crew whole. Sure there are individuals, but the crew becomes one. An amazing team and brand that will last, which is very hard in the industry. Many crews fell/disappeared because the individuals moved on with their lives and the individuals made those crews. Jabbawockeez can be handed down to talented individuals for decades.
It took you a decade to realize that? Bruhhh. Actually it’s their intricate attention to detail to the beat that paved the way for dance that we see today. I saw them in 2003 with their ski mask.
Actually a group in the Philippines actually copied them wearing the mask but it was missing something which was the actually style of the JABBAWOCKEE.
