@@randallrobertson6042 I've followed Gura since her first week, but I liked/followed her before she was Gura. So I don't know if I'd call it prying.
Just to share my perspective: Having that background knowledge doesn't ruin the experience for me - it actually gives me a better appreciation for a vtuber. (As evidence, I've been a member on Gura's channel since the beginning and have only grown to appreciate her more.)
For me, vtubers are about the personality behind the screen, and are part of what makes the internet awesome - the anonymity gives them the ability to be flexible, yes to play a character at times, but _also_ to be more true to themselves than many other forms of media. So getting to know them as a personality (within reason and without overstepping privacy - without prying, that is) doesn't take away from the experience for me, but rather enhances.
I don't care overmuch about the kayfabe, and I don't think Gura particularly cares about it either EXCEPT in its entertainment value - because part of who she is is _absolutely_ to be an entertainer. And she's good at it, and that's part of why I follow her.
To each his/her own. 🙂
Edit: the whole shark-side thing was just supposed to show that my appreciation of her only increased over time with the knowledge I had. Editing out since it comes across as a flex and brings out the trolls.
