- The D.O.C. describes the environment around Death Row Records and how he stayed protected when he came around the label. The D.O.C. explains how being incarcerated was better than being on Death Row Records.
One of the greatest what if’s in hip-hop history highly underrated, Salute the DOC legend✊🏾🇯🇲💯
The D.O.C debut is classic! Much respect to art for this one.
I'm glad to see DOC as well, but we all know why he's being interviewed lol
Yeah but at least from this clip he seems realer then everyone else with there fake ass angel’s on the real shit because there still scared

Loving the choice of legendary guests AOD has on his platform 💯🙌🏽
And Vlad TV is COMING UP NEXT 😂
This dude has been my favorite rapper since i heard funky enough when i was a kid
Right #you get it
Let's give our flowers to D.O.C. for all of his amazing ghostwritten lyrics on "The Chronic" 🌻🌹🌷
Yep
EFIL4ZAGGIN too
Yea interesting cause I seen somewhere Cube had written on The Chronic not sure if it’s any truth on it but much praise to D.O.C
@@bobbebouche also Co wrote on Chronic 2001

We need some of them old suge knight stories from before deathrow when him and d.o.c first linked up
I agree
Much Agreed…
WWW is Texas
I have Suge’s old phone. You know what’s strange: Biggie’s number is in it. Bought it at the death row auction. Also have two rare pix from Pac and Dre from the Cali video.
Right because he was with Ruthless Records and Easy-E first, Suge was his bodyguard then
This guy would have been HUGE if things went differently. Really sad what happened to him. His first album remains a classic.
This channel keeps getting better and better
"NO ONE CAN DO IT BETTER"
Can stand against anyone's debut album in the entire history of Hip-Hop!!!
Yup! From 1989 until now.
AT....yes Sir! I'm 52 and I still bumps that.

Very valuable interview, DOC, apart of the transition of NWA to the start of Death Row.
His voice actually sounds better than when I first heard him interview a few years ago on Vlad.
I actually was thinking that. I'm glad for him.
You definitely can understand him better than when he talked in the 90’s.
I hope one day you can get a face to face interview with Suge
I'll be watching all of these videos.
You can hear his voice come back briefly
Guy is a legend. Wrote all of Dr Dre's lyrics for the chronic album
💯💯💯💯💯💯
And helped snoop with doggystyle
not all, some
Not true. Snoop & RBX also were involved in the writing
@@harminderkambow9642 RBX wrote "let me ride". Great ghostwriter
Imagine being an artist on a label and you have to bring a gun with you to work. SAD
Smh ridiculous
Yeah studio life is Krazy
😘
No different from working over night at a gas station. I did it for 5 years. My life was in danger on plenty occasions.
It was a gangster rap label.
D.O.C. is the GOAT of ghostwriting….he was always writing for NWA (of course not for Cube or Ren) so when he had the accident he still had a job….my boy put out a classic album and wrote countless classic (ghostwritten) verses…..UNSUNG
I remember when Nate Dogg said there was never day when he didn't have two pieces on him when going to Deathrow
Great interview. The DOC is a legend
You get it
He misunderstood what D.O.C. meant. He didn't say he had to be strapped, he said he always had to be loaded - meaning fucked up - to go in the studio and just deal with that shit. That environment most probably contributed to his accident.
Ok but he went oh though and played on it .
LOADED MEANS HIGH ON COKE
The D.O.C. is the Bo Jackson of Hip Hop and one of my favorite rappers.
Dam. Another crazy story from those death row days. You can do a movie about the label from all these interviews. Legendary
It’d make a great series wouldn’t it a movie would be too short I reckon.
Being from the east coast and a teenager during the 80s I can tell you with 100% certainty it was DOC who brought West Coast credibility to east coast hip hop heads. We were luke warm on NWA, didn't rate ice tea much and didn't get exposed to much more west coast rap except cross over stuff (Hammer, young MC, Tone loc). I remember CONSTANTLY having discussions unanimously rating him as the hardest West Coast rapper pre solo ice cube, snoop, exhibit etc. Most of us had his album which was also uncommon amongst us (having West Coast rapper albums).
Word! I’m 48 now from Jersey and you’re right doc was the truth to us east coast hip hop heads. Cube second , then mc eight. all lyrical west coast dudes. Even though doc is really from Texas.
This is facts
Yep, Dude was super dope! I always thought of him as the "west coast" Rakim.
The D.O.C is such a legend. Still remember an interview he done where he talked about a videotape of puffy in drag that was going around in the industry lol

Even with one solid album before he lost his voice he’s still top 10 to me💯
I'm so glad that D.O.C is still with us.
The Legendary D.O.C.
I feel sad for D.O.C., my little brother loved his music since he was 13 years old and now he’s 28. He deserved to be in the booth making music. He was down on his luck bad, he should’ve tooken therapy seriously besides drinking and smoking a lot which also messes up ya voice even more. Suge was just using him and not focusing on his career but just as a writer for he wanted to be the voice behind his lyrics. I’m just glad he still alive and walking and breathing. If my little brother ever had a chance to meet him he probably be happy as fuck. He’s one of his favorite rappers 😢
It’s Suge fault he kept drinking and smoking back to back huh? Suge kept him in the basement, with a bottle of moonshine and a pen and pad. Made him do it huh?
He was in a terrific motor cycle wreck
@@anjeejjohnson3543 He wasn't in the motorcycle crash. He fell asleep at the wheel while driving. Where you get your info from?
I heard you getting treated like boot camp you got to follow your piru sergeant directions or get your ass smacked with his smith and Weston
Naaah you can't blame Suge. Doc was a grown man he made his own poor decisions that led him down the path he went on. If anything doc used Suge
Had the Coast on fire with that D. O. C. Maaan. The layUp line was Crackin when we used to come out to the DOC
DOC is most definitely a Hip Hop legend. I’m glad this comment thread agrees. 💯

This guy telling the crowd how DOC lost his voice is definitely new. New people are the only ones that wouldn’t know that.
D.o.c always had his heat on him, but never used it
Thanks for the video, THE ART OF DIALOGUE

He was drunk because he was an alcoholic since 1989

In my opinion he is one of the greatest lyricist ever. Can you imagine how smooth Dres verses on Chronic would have sounded if D.O.C was spittin that shit?

He 1st album is a certified classic. If he wouldn't have had that accident and lost his voice he'd be up there with the greats in hip hop.
What pisses me off is, all the writing Doc did for Death Row, he just said "When I lost my house and moved in with Snoop". Feels like they never took care of Doc. He deserves so much more. Hope Dre broke him off a KING SIZED BAG after the beats deal cuz he really owes it to him.
Wasn’t he part owner of Death Row though?

Thanx D.O.C for Doggystyle. Best hip hop album to me.
Good to see the D.O.C IT'S GETTING FUNKY!

I think the hardest songs he ghostwrote for Dre was Lil Ghetto Boy from The Chronic and Big Egos from the 2001 album.
The D.O.C. was one of the hardest and most lyrical MCs before the accident. SO underrated ✊✊✊

Right up there with Rakim.
Legend who’s career got cut WAYYYYY short ahead of time. DEFINITELY would have changed the landscape of hiphop!
Man they ran that label into the Ground
Every rapper at Death Row was strapped up even Nate Dogg he mentioned he never go to the studio without a gun. Death Row wasn't a safe place to be at that time that's why Dre left.
D.O.C would have went down as one of the greatest lyricists in Hip Hop had he not lost his voice. His first album is classic.
This dude is the Grant Hill of rap.
He is aging like fine wine!
I seen a list that still had him in the top 50 best rappers of all time for that single album when u listen to the lyrics he's was as good as any rapper from any coast at that time imo of course
Now this is what you call an exclusive. This man doesn't talk to anybody.

Down south was too, lots of kids black and white were bumpin' his music. East coast was heavy in the south, cats couldn't believe

ONE OF THE BEST LYRICST OF ALL TIME !
I can remember quite a few artist saying they had to carry or wear a bulletproof vest when going into Death Row. I remember Snoop said he carried. He and D.O.C can’t be the only ones saying that.
A darn shame they had to do that…..smh
He said he had to be loaded to go into Death Row meaning fucked up. Mighty misunderstood.
