Haha thank you so much! I started a few months ago creating a 12" wheel. Moved to a 24", and landed on what I think is the best size; a 40". The 12 is too small so it ultimately got scrapped--but I learned so much about how to make everything work that the 24" was then born (it ultimately landed in my office--we use it as a training tool). The 40" is what's going to stick around at home for game nights. When I get a bigger place in the future, I'm going to create a 1:1 version to the show; 90 inches wide.
And in times later this wheel later gained two more flippers, a green center, lighted mechanism, and much more improvements, great talent at work here👍
A lot of R&D. Studying the way the official flippers move, finding some up-close pictures of them from a side profile, as well as a picture of one either broken or taken apart. There's a ball bearing in my version that really gives it the "wiggle". Also; a LOT of 3D printed drafts trying out what worked best.
Awesome! Do you have the blueprints or the steps to making it? I have my own wheel and it's 24" wide, and I think it's about time I upgraded my flippers.
It's a 3D printed model using 2 different materials/3D printers (Hard PLA and Soft Flexible TPE). It's pretty proprietary and hard to re-create without the right hardware and materials. If I create an Etsy item for a set of 3 flippers, would you be interested in purchasing a set?
The flipper sounds like the same one used in the 1973 pilot of “Shopper’s Bazaar” (now Wheel of Fortune)
This might be the best wheel and flipper I've seen in the last 10 years on UA-cam. Amazing work!
The Best Wheel of Fortune ever.
Ok...you are probably the only one I’d pay to commission me a wheel. Fantastic work!

Okay now I'm curious. How did you make the flipper? It resembles remarkably similar to the ones in the show.
