I was in the process of enlisting with the US Air Force when I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1. The last thing standing in the way of my enlistment before my mental breakdown was my weight. I passed the ASVAB and everything. I wanted to enlist as a medic more than anything In the world. I was an EMT basic (now a nurse) and I am part Native, Cherokee and possibly Lakota through my grandmother. My family, both Native and non native, has served honorably in WW2, Korea, and the Gulf War. One of my Uncles gave his life in Korea. I wanted to carry on that tradition and honor them but was unfortunately unable to do so. I played this for my friend, a non-Native Iraq War combat vet and it brought tears to her eyes. Thank you for your service my brothers.

So yes there was a governing body of both native and whites . There was also not many wars the natives engaged in because there was so much to do in our untouched and pure land the creator blessed with.
