lava and smoke, also known as a pyroclastic flow. it's gas, ash and heat boiling out from the volcano, not just lava and smoke. you rarely get ''smoke' from a volcano, it's usually gasses and water vapor, you only usually see smoke if the lava has rolled over something that is burning beneath.

That is a pyroclastic flow, a bit more dangerous than "lava."
A pyroclastic flow has the potential to move at upwards of 100 mph and contains highly toxic, super-heated gases which can totally envelope and kill a person in seconds.
Lava moves much slower, rarely exceeding the flow speed of a lazy stream or creek on level ground, only achieving high speeds on slopes, in the center of a large flow, or close to high pressure vents.
Further, lava rarely lets off toxic gases in concentrations that would kill the average observer as the average observer doesn't get close enough to the lava and the lava is too slow to overtake the observer, unlike a pyroclastic flow which can easily travel faster than the observer has ever driver their car, let alone ran on foot.
And people wonder why we call it Fake News.
Inaccuracy, whether intentional or not, is NOT appropriate in a broadcast which is presented as "News."

this is happening everyday at the Stromboli. Its a Volcano which is not very important and dangerous because by spewing fire every day it doesn't produce enough pressure for a really dangerous eruption. This one was just a little bit stronger then what the people of the Eolic islands see almost every day. I am far more concerned about the Super Volcano called Solfatara in the norther part of the gulf of Naples. If it erupts certainly the South of Italy will be devastated, possibly Italy will go into the ocean all together. The Lava pressure chamber under the Solfatara is about the size of the pressure chamber under yellowstone-

They have been acting very similar 😅 Krakatau had built itself much faster by erupting a lot of magma at the time so it was poorly structed. I believe Stromboli is more solid. Steep slopes may warn about easier collapse tho.

This is one reason I don't think human beings have contributed as much pollution as one would think. How could we? With all the volcanoes that have erupted since the beginning of time, it seems like we could never make a dent in comparison.
