Very first section of the video is already wrong- *only* Brian May attended Imperial College. Tim Staffell attended Ealing Art College (and befriended a fellow art student named Farrokh “Freddie” Bulsara… who became Mercury!) . And Roger Taylor started off studying Dentistry at London Hospital Medical College, but transferred to East London Polytechnic and switched his major to Biology.
Thank you! - you saved me from having to write all that! Actually, I couldn't remember Roger and John's universities, but just knew they weren't at Imperial with Brian. :-)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REACTING TO THIS, HONEY!💕 (As soon as they started mentioning Freddie’s illness, you looked sad.) Their only incorrect fact: After Fred passed, the remaining band members didn’t just find/stumble across unfinished material and decide out-of-the-blue to compile it into an album. In Fred’s last months, the band spent time together in Montreux to get away from the paparazzi and to give Fred the chance to record as much material as he possibly could with the time he had left. The other three guys literally wrote any lyrics that came to mind on scraps of paper… Fred recorded each lyric THREE times, so that - after he’d passed - the remaining band members could finish the songs and have three takes of each lyric to choose the best of.
One omission, from the days of Smile. Six songs were recorded and a vinyl album was released in Japan in 1982. I have a copy of that album, Getting Smile. It would be remastered with more songs added in 1997, released in the Netherlands as Ghost of a Smile. One of the songs, Doin' Alright, was written by Brian and Tim Staffell and they would both sing parts of it. That song was recorded for Queen's first album with Freddie singing. It's the only song on any queen album with a songwriting credit from someone other than the 4. Tim Staffell would release that song on his own in 2003. In 2018, Smile would reunite to record Doin' Alright with May, Taylor and Tim Staffell singing different parts, so with all three recordings, four different singers sang lead on it. There is one live performance in 1992 with the Brian an Roger joining Tim in concert.
I remember how the press treated Freddy at the end. It was disgusting. Why release those pictures of him being ill? The world will always remember him as one of the best singers/performers/songwriters of all times.
Freddie was born as Farrokh Bulsara on the island of Zanzibar at the East coast of Africa, though his parents were Indians from a small town near Bombay (today Mumbai).
Thanks for this video! The phenomenon of Queen is precisely that their music is so diverse and timeless in terms of styles and harmonies. Their songs have a message and a deep meaning. If you add pure talent, great collaboration and the best live performances, I can say that I don't know another band that makes such great music for every taste.
For the people who wants to know Freddie’s real name, it’s Farrokh Bulsara. That’s his real birth name. When he was in a boarding school in India, people called him, “Freddie.”
MY FAV QUEEN SONG: “DON’T TRY SO HARD” …from the Made In Heaven album…. It has a DEEP message and Fred’s high vocals are STUNNING. (My FAV albums are Innuendo & Made In Heaven)
Isn't "Don't Try So Hard" from Innuendo? I guess I could actually just walk across the room and look since I have Innuendo (1991 version-as it began) sitting on the desk.
The Bee Gees went through some serious ups and downs you should also check out. This was pretty good, I just wish he had mentioned Mary Austin, Freddie’s girlfriend and life long best friend. My favorite song is Somebody to Love! Watched it all with you Adogg, thanks!
Actually quite a bit missing, I know it's a brief history but mainly focused on Fred again, they need to give as much time to each member, Dr Sir Brian May as he's now known after recently being awarded the honour of a knighthood by our new King, it didn't go into how he built his own guitar, or how John Deacon came up with the Amps which gave he and Sir Brian the sound, or how they all wrote the songs, they skipped over a lot. I would suggest official documentaries of which they're quite a few on their own UA-cam Channels, especially over the past couple of years with the band as we know it with these four turning 50 in 2021 and I'm old enough too remember when they started, also same year was the 30th anniversary of the passing of Fred, you'll learn quite a bit more from these Days Of Our Lives not to be confused with the song, which actually Roger wrote about his life and family, Freddie The Untold Story with his sister, mum and Mary Austin along with the group and people who actually knew Fred, The History Of Queen and many more, even with the Montreal concert with Sir Brian and Roger Taylor narrating the cleaned up footage, or doing the same with their music videos
Farrokh Bulsara (son of Bomi and Jer Bulsara) went by Freddie Bulsara right up to the recording listings on Queen's 'demo' referred to in the video. Then he changed his name to Freddie Mercury and the rest is history.
It’s almost impossible to have a absolute favorite for queen because of so many hits. However one of my personal favorites is Barcelona Freddie went and performed is with the greatest opera singer of all time and he held his own which to me show that Friday was a true master of his craft.
Apart from the obvious ones my favourite Queen song is "Who Wants To Live Forever" from the Highlander soundtrack. The live version at Wembley is stunning.
Freddie was born in India as Farrukh, Balsara, his birth name . Our Beautiful Freddie. Thank you for doing this❤ Freddie was the most Beautiful Soul that God ever created. He was the kindest , most loyal ,shy Beautiful friend anyone could ever imagine . People don’t mention that . The tribute concert was to spread Aids Awareness but , it was first of all to pay Tribute to they’re Best friend who they loved deeply.
He left out Freddie’s solo effort Love Kills. Great song from Giorgio Moroder’s soundtrack to Metropolis. Sounds weird but the movie, Metropolis, is a silent film from 1920s Germany. It survived only in fragments and took over twenty years to restore to the original length. A version of it was released in the 80s with a modern soundtrack including Mercury’s solo effort. The wiki on this movie is crazy long but it’s got the soundtrack list. If you’ve read this far I have a bonus- Cycle V - Blood from a Stone. Very underrated tune
Hey Adogg... I know they called the video a "brief" history, but they left out so much... how the media in the UK were so brutal to the entire band, the fact that they were all college-educated, highly talented, multi-instrumental musicians, they were the only band that wrote and oerformed songs in multiple languages, used children as guests in their music videos and performed exclusively for the pleasure of their audiences... they never mentioned anything about "Larry Lurex" (I especially like the story behind 'his creation'), they never mentioned anything about "Love of My Life" or the last song Freddie sang, "Mother Love" and the story behind the recording of "The Show Must Go On"... so much was omitted... guess they need to save something for "part 2"?? blessings.
I’m not on top of my game. I have a chronic condition and I’d be a lot more helpful to all programs if I felt better. But my support is there and I really appreciate it from you guys.
Have you done 'don't stop me now' you have to...it was scientifically proven to be the best, feel good song, ever made! My kids are 19, 18 & 15 & have known every word of it since they could sing along! If only one song could survive, it should be that, so that human kind will forever understand the joy of music x
Man I have to say I loved Freddie Mercury his voice was like no other and as a teenager during his period in music I loved him as well as alot of the kids during the 80's
I live in Illinois I grew up listening to Queen. I love Bohemian Rhapsody, killer Queen, my best friend and crazy little thing called love. I truly believe the best rock bands came from Great Britain Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Beatles, U2, The Who, The Animals
Night at the opera they had Reed as manager and got a lawyer Jim Beach they got them out of the contract but had to pay First time sign with Emi They gave them a huge advancement
I love Queen...I can't pick one but if I must, it would be Bohemian Rhapsody. This was fun. I wish we could play the actual music. the platform that gets a music license will be the most amazing. Thank you. I own 6 albums bu Queen and was puppy love crushing at 8 yrs old on Freddy Mercury.
I saw it live. Certain ignorant people DID turn on Freddie Mercury when he cut his long hair and grew his mustache. People right there in the audience. Only time I ever saw a group of people who had paid to attend a concert turn against the band, specifically Freddie.
Rest in peace Freddie Mercury the best frontman for music ever. One of the king's / Gods of music you will forever be missed and remembered. That being said what's your opinion on Adam Lambert? I personally didn't like him at all when he basically replaced Freddie Mercury. No one can ever replace that man even if they tried.
You really need to watch the MOVIE "BOHEMEAN RAPSODY" you will learn a lot about Freddie and QUEEN even tho it is not 100% accurate but pretty damn close! THANKS 😎
FreddIE. Sorry but Freddie hated people spelling it Freddy. His real name WAS Freddie Mercury but he had legally changed it by deed poll. I can vouch that legally changing your name is a pain in the neck - I changed mine. Lots of paperwork. If you are going to do it you have to be serious.
People didn't turn on Queen. Wannabe-hip music journalists did. You should check out some better documentary. I would suggest "music mythos Queen" by Razorfist, which is fantastic, or the much longer and also fantastic 4part "days of our lives" doch.
Someone suggested The Bee Gees.. Here's a link to a brief history. It's 42 minutes long. You may wish to chop into 2 parts? Thanks Adogg ua-cam.com/video/gDko0GdKZ0s/v-deo.html
would have been about 50 k back then.that's how much the value has dropped since nixon took us off the gold standard and put us on petro dollar which no lnger exists.
Wow you're missing out on some great music. I guess you don't go to sporting events cuz you will definitely be hearing QUEEN's We Will Rock You/We Are The Champians

In fact his real name wasn't Freddie Bulsara but Farrockh Bulsara, he was born in Zanzibar Tanzania
I'll never forget that day. He made the announcement and was gone the next. I was stationed in Germany. I'll never forget it.
WHITE QUEEN live at Hammersmith 1975 is one of my favorite performances
Absolutely!
The song "White Queen" tOdeon, Hammersmith 1975 is a hauntingly beautiful song and a true hidden gem!

They were from the city of Bombay
LOVE That You Did this...Cool 👍 know you've done a Lot of Queen but would love your take on
"One Vision " Extended Version 🙏

Bohemian Rhapsody is the Most Streamed Song of the 20 th Century 🥰♥️✌🏼
All your true “Queenies” will tell you, we have no favorite Queen song. It’s like picking a favorite child. We love them all for different reasons.
Sooo true 👍👍
I never had any children, so for this old Queenie it's like picking the cutest kitten or puppy! It just can't be done, period! 😁👑🌈💙
I went to the queen concert featuring Paul rogers. That was such an epic concert!!! Absolutely amazing ❤❤❤❤
The Bee Gees went through some serious ups and downs you should also check out. This was pretty good, I just wish he had mentioned Mary Austin, Freddie’s girlfriend and life long best friend. My favorite song is Somebody to Love! Watched it all with you Adogg, thanks!
Freddie hadn't finished his album when they were recording the works he finished it when they had a brake during the tour
Roger said they given up and Freddie encouraged them to start again
You should react to Freddie Murcery The Untold Story, it’s long but you can do it in sections. It’s very good and you’ll learn a lot about Freddie!
That was a very long sentence. 😅 But could you list the documentaries that you mentioned? I'd love to see them all. 💚
Farrokh Bulsara (son of Bomi and Jer Bulsara) went by Freddie Bulsara right up to the recording listings on Queen's 'demo' referred to in the video. Then he changed his name to Freddie Mercury and the rest is history.
Roller skating to Queen in the 80's was so Awesome 😎
Their first gig was for red cross in Toronto but Rogers mum advertised them as smile.
Freddie announce they were Queen!
It’s almost impossible to have a absolute favorite for queen because of so many hits. However one of my personal favorites is Barcelona Freddie went and performed is with the greatest opera singer of all time and he held his own which to me show that Friday was a true master of his craft.
Excellent video. You are great. Thank you so much for this video.
I see you in the comments of Sean's live court proceeding. I said hello in chat
I was like wait I know who this guy is. Glad to see you in the chats. We need more activists for sure.
Innuendo is incredible. I actually slightly prefer it to Bohemian Rhapsody 😱😱😱!
Another one bites the dust and Bohemian Rhapsody you should check out
Apart from the obvious ones my favourite Queen song is "Who Wants To Live Forever" from the Highlander soundtrack. The live version at Wembley is stunning.
Freddie was born in India as Farrukh, Balsara, his birth name .

You give off lovely energy...
An unfortunate incorrect account omitting Freddie's determination resulting in the existence of Queen.
Bohemian rhapsody all time favorite Queen song !
For me Somebody to Love
I’m not on top of my game. I have a chronic condition and I’d be a lot more helpful to all programs if I felt better. But my support is there and I really appreciate it from you guys.
I sing them all #1 Bohemian Rhapsody❤❤
Favorite Queen song : The Show Must go On
The intro to Bo Rap is just Freddie
Over the past few years, I’m learning to Cell. I can give you more information because I’m still learning

Excellent documentary and reaction.
He decided in 86 done touring
87 diagnosed
89 he told the band
So many mistakes!
He named himself Freddie at school
He took on the bame Mercury in 72
I saw it live. Certain ignorant people DID turn on Freddie Mercury when he cut his long hair and grew his mustache. People right there in the audience. Only time I ever saw a group of people who had paid to attend a concert turn against the band, specifically Freddie.
Not at the same college
Tim was at Ealing same as Freddie that's how the became friends
Roger was at different one again
Rest in peace Freddie Mercury the best frontman for music ever. One of the king's / Gods of music you will forever be missed and remembered. That being said what's your opinion on Adam Lambert? I must say, although hes not Freddie. Adam Lambert is a good fit for QUEEN
People didn't turn on Queen. Wannabe-hip music journalists did. You should check out some better documentary. I would suggest "music mythos Queen" by Razorfist, which is fantastic, or the much longer and also fantastic 4part "days of our lives" doch.
I'm The Killer Queen ❤❤🎉
Innuendo ❤
Bo rap is still no 1 best selling non charity single

Great Amazing now can you do a Brief History of Pink Floyd
You have to take 'documentaries' like tihis with a pinch of salt.
Someone suggested The Bee Gees..
Here's a link to a brief history.
It's 42 minutes long. You may wish to chop into 2 parts?
Thanks Adogg

But I do sure appreciate you
Look Farouk Bulsara Duh
Fat bottom girls is my fav
farooq bulsara
would have been about 50 k back then.that's how much the value has dropped since nixon took us off the gold standard and put us on petro dollar which no lnger exists.
Seems like Freddies death made them big outside the UK
America did not like them talk about bad taste
white queen
I’m sorry y’all, (not) but Fat Bottomed Girls still get my attention every time. KillerQueen would come in a close second.
No. But now they're the most overrated band ever.
I refuse to listen to Queen and Marvin Gay. For obvious reasons.
That's your loss! BTW, that's Marvin Gaye's real birth name. You've jumped to an erroneous conclusion. 😂
Wow you're missing out on some great music. I guess you don't go to sporting events cuz you will definitely be hearing QUEEN's We Will Rock You/We Are The Champians
@@MaRoach7 I prefer April Wine, Clint Black and CcR
