When he was home on leave he would take time out of his day to come see us and sing us songs with his guitar (in the gym). Our school motto was, "The Sky is Not the Limit", since he went to space! And our local airport is also named after him. An all around great guy and we are all very proud of him.
Imagine being able to double gravity or slowly increase normal gravity by a tiny fraction every few days and dealing with that for a year or two training like an athlete and bodybuilder. Then going back to normal gravity and going to the gym. You would be ridiculously strong and able to jump higher than an NBA player

@@BlurryBigfoot Spooked means nervous as well. True, this isn't a nervous scenario, I should have chosen a better word. All of this will bear an impact on even the simplest functions of the body.

She is re adapting to Earths gravity? I’m guessing. It seems like a normal thing to happen. She has nothing to be embarrassed about it. Our Astronauts are heroes in my opinion. 💕😊
Actually.. based on the description, human blood regulations is different in space. Blood production for human body is lesser in space. So, after they return to earth, they have low blood pressure. When human has low blood pressure, they will lack oxygen that resulted to them passing out. . .
I think it has to do with the heart not pumping enough blood to the brain. Usually your body pushes blood up with higher force to counteract gravity pulling it down. This is why astronauts will have their face red and swollen on the first week; their body is still pumping blood to the head with greater force even with no gravity. The reverse happens when they land; the body has learned _not_ to counteract gravity so the blood stays in your legs and feet. When standing the brain isn't getting all the blood it needs. After a couple weeks an astronaut shouldn't faint while standing up, although it'll still be difficult to stand for long due to bone and muscle loss.
I can't even imagine myself standing and talking after an hour of roller coaster ride. They've spent more than a 100 days out there on space and also taking the up and down journeys into account.. Couldn't they just wait for them to get enough rest before asking them to stand and speak or interview or whatever?
You mean now heart has to work lot harder than before, because it needs to accelerate the blood more than 9.8m/s^2 for the blood to reach head whereas before it was zero
SD 3 if you’re going to criticise someone’s grammar, at least learn how to use punctuation. You forgot to use a question mark. Besides, he only spelt one word wrong, and it was more than likely an autocorrect error.
Instead of arguing over grammar... just read the video information. It clearly states that her physical issues were directly related to the 10-14% loss in blood volume while in space. After a few days, the blood volume will return to normal, and you won't be passing out anymore.
That’s so cool how the whole crew were there instantly to help her, before *she* even realized she was in trouble. They all spend so much time training together, living together, and then of course flying in space together - they’re all so attuned to each other’s needs. No wonder space missions usually go so smoothly.
I saw signs she was in trouble about 8 seconds before she dropped. I'm sure her colleagues saw it too. Part of their training is to keep an eye on each other, and I'm sure at some point in their training they were warned that returning to full gravity after the mission was going to bring with it a few issues. This is why it's so important to maintain the integrity of a team, particularly in hazardous occupations.

When you spend a length of time in zero g, your ear fluid adjusts to the lack of gravity. I can only imagine her brain was going wild experiencing up and down for the first time in a while.
She has a iron deficiency, if that wasn't acted or manufactured. I've had many times where I've fainted from a lack of iron, your vision goes dark and you have just enough strength to try to stay standing but you loose balance or legs give out majority of the time. If it was an imbalance in ear fluid she would of thrown up or wouldn't of been fine seconds earlier. If it was just not being adjusted to the gravity, then her face wouldn't of gone blank.

True, but at the same time, we can’t judge them. We are all moulded by the society we live in, and ours emphasizes superficial looks over talent and achievement. With the constant barrage of adverts and subtle cues directing people, especially women, to adopting these ideals, it’s hardly surprising that some do. At the same time though, you’ll find even their lives are much more than Kardashian-based. We all have intricate and complex universes and stories inside us that are privy to no one but ourselves.
Good luck for your daughter, what a big dream

This was the next day. Still, there is a two week long recovery period for all astronauts. Everyone is spooked after their first visit to the space.
@@BlurryBigfoot Spooked means nervous as well. True, this isn't a nervous scenario, I should have chosen a better word. What I meant was that her body will be working in weird ways that it isn't used to now - the bones will shrink, massive pressure on lungs and heart and fluids will go crazy. All of this will bear an impact on even the simplest functions of the body.
@@BlurryBigfoot
People do get spooked in space. Do not rule that out. Any major life change experience, particularly high risk, causes elevated stress levels.

@@Emira_75 ua-cam.com/video/qKxfWd79HFI/v-deo.html
Yemen Steezy They were just saying why she passed out? No reason to get mad.

@@SD352-68 man, you're too harsh on him, lol
The body's adjustment to the Earth's gravity can cause fatigue and loss of consciousness. Now that's what you call a well typed sentence! 😂😂😂😂😂
Instead of arguing over grammar... just read the video information. It clearly states that her physical issues were directly related to the 10-14% loss in blood volume while in space. After a few days, the blood volume will return to normal, and you won't be passing out anymore.
Just like the expanse Sci-fi show
That’s so cool how the whole crew were there instantly to help her, before *she* even realized she was in trouble.
