I am 75 years old and when I was about 12 years old my mom did this to me. I had been saved but she thought the Lord took Salvation away if one ever sinned and to her it was a sin if I went fishing on Sunday afternoon. so as i came in the house she called me to her side had me Kneel down while she picked her guitar and sang this song to me...I hated it!!! but she could make me cry with her admonishments about backsliding and hell and required me to pray out loud for forgiveness and Salvation again, and then at church that Sunday night she testified that I had repented for fishing on Sunday.... I am ashamed to this day that she was able to guilt me like that.... I am saved by faith in Jesus but will not guilt people into a confession of faith.

What a great song with a powerful message!! That's how I raised my son so it brought back wonderful memories. Now he has a son and is teaching him to "hold fast to the right!" What an awesome responsibility for parents!
