Stuff we use:
CAMERA - This is the camera we have used to film 90+% of our interviews (over 200 interviews and counting) It continues to be our workhorse - amzn.to/2u66V1J
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/2t1n2hx
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv
COMPUTER - Our favorite computer, we each have one and have used various models since 2010 - amzn.to/2t1M67Z

This is my 6th video tonight by Mr. Truby.
I am so super excited, it's like free classes :)
I am so grateful!
Thank you, thank you, thank you:)
Mr. Truby has been very gracious with us on our two visits. We hope you get a chance to thank him in person also. We have one full compilation entitled "Anatomy Of Story" that is 85 minutes long from our first meeting with John that can help you digest all this material in one video. We're still working our way through our new series with John on TV Writing. Once done, we'll make another full compilation. It's great to see your comment here, thank you.
Glad you discovered our series with Mr. Truby. To this point we've posted 30 video segments. That includes one full compilation entitled "Anatomy Of Story." So if you'd like 85 minutes of John sharing his insights on screenwriting all in one video that one is great. We're still releasing new videos of Truby on TV writing. Our best to you.
Thanks for the plug! : )
I've been binge viewing his interviews like there's no tomorrow. He's the teacher I never had, not even when I studied screenwriting at University; and the teacher, in that case was a professional writer.
Hope I'll get a chance to thank him in person one day.
Free lectures!! These videos are great I keep watching one more over and over again.
Thank YOU!!! This man is ONE of the best in what he does and says. I can get enough of his "on target" advice.
Important content .🔥🔥
True cine-philes know this man is telling the truth; which is why the best movies transcend traditional storytelling. :)
@Ahnee Broman Thank you so much. I have already learned heaps becuase for eight years now I've wanted my idea to come to life. You guys have helped me so much. thank you
Amazing!!!!
THIS. IS. TRUTH.
Ive been watching videos like that too, I WILL be that NEXT BIG FILMMAKER
Interesting - however, how about an example scene/situation where the genre 'twist' stands out!
This was a great clip, but would have been much more useful if he had given some examples of scripts that did put a "different skin" on the bones of an existing genre that stood out.
