- The 2 Witnesses described by John the Beloved in Revelation 11 who hold back the worlds greatest army for 3 1/2 years prior to Christ's return are key to the signs of the times. This event is already legend and the event hasn't even happened yet. When these two begin their ministry, we know that we are only 3.5 years away from when Christ returns to save the Jews and splits the mount of olives causing the greatest earthquake the world has ever known. This video will discuss who these two witnesses may be, when it will happen, what will happen, and many other details.
I find myself on UA-cam too much, like while I work. So I try to turn to uplifting content instead of political or mindless entertainment. Videos like this are great and I am always excited when a new one is published.
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are either born of the seed of Abraham or adopted in through their baptism. They are legal dependants of the blood of Israel.

I listened to the podcast in saying that Elijah may be one of the prophets in Jerusalem. But Elijah is resurrected. Here’s a comment by Joseph Fielding Smith. “It is held by some that Elijah came with these keys because he held some peculiar position standing between the living and the dead due to the fact that he was translated. But when Elijah came to Joseph Smith it was with a resurrected body, for he was with Christ in his resurrection. (The Way to Perfection, Salt Lake City: The Genealogical Society of Utah, 1931, p. 161.) I am not aware of any of the prophets who have correct what President Smith said. Since you can’t kill a resurrected person I don’t believe Elijah is one of the two prophets. Also translated persons cannot be killed. There were a few times when they tried to kill John but were not able to. Also we are told that the change from a terrestrial translated body to a resurrected body happens in the twinkling of an eye, or instantaneously. So again I don’t think John the Beloved is one of these prophets. Since Elder McConkie said it was his opinion that the two prophets would be either members of the First Presidency or quorum of the Twelve, I’m going to believe that until one of the prophets has a differing opinion from more current revelation. I was listening to talks by Joseph Smith; he states that the two prophets would be Elijah and Enoch. The two prophets that was given great power. I can’t remember where I found them, but I know it was the discourses by Madsen Truman on Jospeh Smith here in UA-cam. I don’t know, but it would seem right to me, seems how they will keep the armies at bay, while the Jews are taught the gospel for 3.5 years.

Please make a video that provides full clarity to any non members that we, as members or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, are, in FACT, Christians. In other words please lay out as clearly as possible the doctrine on the Godhead being three separate beings.
It blows my mind as I read the New Testament how people can believe that Jesus is literally the same being as the Father and the Holy Ghost. The prophets and apostles of that day went through great pains to demonstrate that they are separate, and yet, through a few verses that are difficult to understand in the Old and New Testaments, the “Trinity” somehow makes more sense to some Christians.

Hi bro, I just want to ask if you can discuss in your next video about the 3rd temple that will be built in Jerusalem, and what are the signs contain in the said construction of the new temple in Jerusalem
If these two witnesses are to have Priesthood power to perform miracles etc. then they MUST be members of the Lord's Church who have been ordained to the Melchizedek Priesthood and receivers of all of the sealing Ordinances!! These must be living as Resurrected or Translated beings would not be asked to die a second time! e.g. John and the three Nephites were promised to never "taste death". You say that those who have been translated may be "allowed to die" - that is nonsense - translation Bypasses death otherwise God would have said die and be instantaneously resurrected - those who are translated do NOT die!
For sure the day we all die, THEN OR NOW, that will be our own personal 2nd coming, ready or not! I pray that we are all ready or will be by happily living The Gospel daily in our lives with our Eternal Families.
Side note, that young Preacher that went to our October Conference on his You Tube channel, who did not even feel We believed in Christ. Or felt no need for a Prophet, Apostles, works for our dead, Temple Marriages etc! Truly these last day's speculative prophecies from our perspective must blow his secular theological studies mind away. Yet it's really quiet simple, all he and others have to do is read, study, ponder and pray and ask with Faith in the name of Jesus Christ if these sacred things are true? And by the power of the Holy Ghost he or they shall know for themselves. Once and for all, as I did back in the 1970's and know for myself that it is true and I thank God everyday for this "good news" personal testimony.

Thank You for taking time to go through this! I’ve often thought Elijah is THE one who turns hearts from generation to generation, and there’s something very special and powerful about that. Interesting about John the beloved. Is he also known as Elias (aka a forerunner)? I guess I will have to go into the Scriptures and see. 😊
Yes John the revelator is an Elias. John the Baptist was and so was Joseph Smith

Elias is a Greek version of Elijah. See 2 Kings 17 and James 5:17

@archangel_one Luke 1:17, you left that out which obviously makes it Elijah. Between the 2 Kings and the end of Malachi and Luke 1:17 it's pretty clear that Elias = Elijah. The same as Isaiah = Esaias and Jermiah = Jeremy. Greek and Hebrew.
Not sure how, or who will have the audacity to harm and kill two witnesses who are already translated beings, but the Lord will work His miracles.

Have you ever considered Jeremiah 11-16 or Romans 11-17 and 24 as to where the two witnesses come from? One from the Natural Olive tree or Church of Israel (Jewish body of Christian believers) and one from the Wild Olive tree or Church of the Gentiles (Gentile body of Christian believers). In context with Zechariah 4:11-14 and Revelation 11:4 we have two Holy Spirit anointed prophets, one Jewish and the other a Gentile who should be the two witnesses. This is the only contextual conclusion from the imagery of the two olive trees.
Translated beings can be killed in the same way Christ was. They "lay down their lives" to fulfill righteousness. Their lives cannot be taken, but can be given.

Kevin, I love your videos. I love how you align with the past and current prophets and how you teach the truth simply. I have one concern that I find consistent throughout your videos. You are a learned man who is well informed of what the prophets have taught. Why do you refer to the Lord's restored church and His people as "LDS church"? I don't mean to troll or cause contention in any way so to all others that can comment on this, please don't comment if it isn't kind. Kevin, I'm truly just interested to know your perspective on this since we have been asked specifically to refer to the church in specific ways. Why do you European Christian keep feeding the world lies. There is no place in the bible that speak about a Jewish nation. The bible does speak about the twelve tribes of Israelites. No the name Jewish is mentioned anywhere. So stop misleading people.

One of the biggest mount of olives was just ripped in two from the Turkey earthquake a few weeks ago. Not in Jerusalem obviously, but definitely felt like another sign in preparation for the second coming.
First, you have put so much time and effort into these videos. I admire your studying and effort and opinions. But, I must say something that is bothering me. I know that your channel and words are your opinion. In this video, it says that the PROPHETS ARE WRONG about the 2 prophets in Jerusalem being one of our 12 Apostles. That the 2 will be from Judah. Please consider this: our Prophets or Apostles could have Jewish blood in their ancestry lines somewhere. Or, maybe one of the 12 in the future will be from Jerusalem. Having the powers that these 2 Prophets will have to command famines and destruction requires the Priesthood of God. The Lord does nothing but through His Prophets and Apostles. Please be careful about the commentary. To say "the prophets are wrong" is a warning sign to me. This is not a personal attack on you. It is my own opinion and interpretation of the content of this video.

The Two Witnesses are the ones really SAVED among the believers who are not literally saved but the believers are in great deception, not realising the great saving of JESUS.

Key note on the state of translation.
Transfiguration is a change like translation but not complete and certainly not a permanent state such as is translation. In either of those two states one does not suffer pain or fatigue or any usual mortal weakness. The end of a transfiguration could then be either death or translation. I believe this is important in understanding John's state while he 'tarries' until Christ comes. He is in a transfigured state, as are the three Nephites and others we do not have record of.
It makes a ton more sense that the 2 witnesses will be ancient Hebrew prophets rather than modern American apostles!

One will preach meat restrictions, while the other has no meat restrictions... One will preach about animals burnt-offering sacrifices for the atonement of their Sin, while the other is by FAITH in Christ thru God's Grace that bears fruits (Charity of Love)...
In conclusion, Hebrews 7:12/paraphrased... "For when the PRIESTHOOD was changed/replaced, the LAW must also be changed/replaced as well."... Amen.
Mark 2:22/Luke 5:37/paraphrased... "No one pours as NEW wine into the OLD wineskin, for it will burst and ruin the Old wineskins, but to pour NEW wine into NEW wineskins."... Amen.
Matt. 9:16/paraphrased... "No one sews a patch of Unshrink (New) garment on an OLD garment, for the patch will pull away, making the tear worse."... Amen.

As a big respecter of nearly all the words spoken and written by El. B. R. McConkie, who passed on in 1985, may he continue in what i believe to be his peaceful and productive Rest, i have a comment about his oft-quoted "New Testament Commentary Vol. 3" (NTC, Vol.3, published in 1972), since it was mentioned here in the video with regard to these particular Two Witnesses of Jesus Christ:
In NTC Vol.3, in 1972, he takes a fairly hardline stance that these Two Witnesses will have to be members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the latter-day Church of Jesus Christ, which was the version of his opinion quoted in this video.
However, about 10 years later, in 1982, a few years before his passing, El. McConkie had the opportunity to soften his stance on his opinion about these Two Witnesses, which he published in his work, "The Millennial Messiah", saying in Ch. 33 on p. 390 of my version of it (9th printing, 1989) --
"Who will these witnesses be? We do not know, except they will be followers of Joseph Smith; they will hold the Melchizedek Priesthood; they will be members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is reasonable to suppose ... they will be two members of the Council of the Twelve or of the First Presidency of the Church."
In this latter sharing of El. McConkie's opinion, i like to say i stand with him with the gist of his 1982 version of it, especially about the part where he admits about the identities of these Two Witnesses that "We do not know"....

Why are you so easily deceived. There is no word in the bible called Jewish. There are twelve tribes of Israelites and none are called Jewish. Christ was of the tribe of Judah not Jewish.
There are many quotes from Apostles and Prophets speculating on who the Two Witnesses will be. I lean more towards their collective interpretation of them being contemporary to their time rather than the idea that they will be Moses, Elijiah, etc. I further disagree with the video's promotion of these two as "possibilities". A careful reading of 3 Nephi 28 will shed greater light upon the calling and disposition of those who have been translated, specifically so that they "would not taste of death". This one characteristic alone would preclude ANY translated person from being one of the Two Witnesses, as they must be killed and have their bodies lie in the streets for 3 days.
I need to apologize for the long read, but I hope you find it worth it. I think we need to consider who the Jewish people will know and follow when they come. It will be 2 Prophets of Old. I love to study books from the Apocrypha. I would suggest that you have a solid base of understanding within the LDS gospel before doing so as it will be easier to spot areas and misunderstandings by those in the past who have changed things that shouldn't have been.
May I suggest to you the answer to this very question lies in the Book of Michael. The Lord Jesus Christ, allowed two chosen men (historians in the flesh) to see into his heavenly assent, so that they could keep record of the things He wanted us to know. Most importantly, our knowledge that our Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ took those who lived the thousands of years before His birth and death; whom waited anxiously for the day they would be resurrected, were taken up to Paradise with Him! We know that those who lived in ancient biblical times have been resurrected with Him! Did you know this knowledge came from the book of Michael?
The two Prophets these "historians" met during this miraculous visionary event were Enoch and Elijah. With Enoch taking the lead , this great Prophet of old, introduced themselves and, openly proclaimed that "they" will be the two Prophets who will return to Jerusalem in the last days, and will be killed, lay in the streets 3 days, and then be taken up into heaven. This exact book has been discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls and show this proclamation to have remained the same and unchanged.
It makes perfect sense to me.
Two Great Prophets of old, and most importantly, two Prophets the Jewish people will know the history of an would be willing to follow? (if they chose to do so.)
Two earthly Prophets that never tasted of death. ( I believe it was because their earthly mission has not been completed)
Hopefully something for you to ponder, pray about and ask for the truthfulness of, from the Lord, that you might know for yourselves.
I would like to say a few things concerning the Apocrypha, or "hidden things".
Our Prophet and Apostles have read the books of the Apocrypha and call them "A worthy read" I feel far to many have maligned these prophetic works (the work of evil who would not have us embrace additions words of God?)

Joseph Smith also read and "Inquired of the Lord" if he should correct the misinterpretations in these great books; In which the Lord responded not to worry about them ( my words)
In D&C 107:57 Joseph Smith states that the truthfulness of the Book of Enoch will be testified in its due time. I believe that time is now. I love the two books of Enoch. If you truly want to have an understanding of what the last days have in store, pay close attention to the second book of Enoch and the profound knowledge of Ezra's (or Esdra's) Eagle. I caution you that at first sounds a bit like a conspiracy theory! My careful and prayerful study of this book has helped me understand the books of Isiah (say it ain't so!) Jeremiah, Daniel, and the end days warning of John the Revelator, in Revelations, and other books of the bible.
Seek for yourselves...many answers are waiting for you to find. Brothers and Sisters, we cannot sit back and expect to be spoon fed all the Lord God EXPECTS us to know! General Conference and our Sunday teachings are only a small portion. We must seek the rest of knowledge ourselves. You will develop such a profound love of these words...I promise! May God bless you all, and bless you in your righteous pursuits of all Holy things.

So how is John going to share the Stick of Joseph (the Book of Mormon) with the Jewish people when it has not even been published or even translated into Hebrew yet, and our church has agreed to not proselytize in Israel in order to get the BYU Jerusalem Center?
There are versions of the Book of Mormon translated in Hebrew. But they aren't "official" due to the agreement about the Church having the BYU center in Jerusalem. Supposedly these versions were made before that agreement happened.
@@briguy9915 from what I’ve studied, those versions are a joke. Some don’t even include Christs visit to the Americas. The two witnesses are going to happen, but it’s not going to be the LDS church involved with it. People should be looking around for a group that is going to pull off the last days prophecies. Sadly, the church has tied its hands.

I believe Enoch would be one of the two witnesses that will represent the gentiles and Elijah will be one of the two witnesses that will represent the Jews and Moses already died so he cannot be one of the two witnesses unless the Bible is incorrect and far as myself I believe the Bible is accurate
Great video! At 2:28 seconds it references Rev 11:3 which says 1260 days rather than 2260. I appreciate all the work you put into making this!
One may also recall that both Elijah and Moses held the keys of the power of God on the Earth; John did not, so Elijah and Moses COULD be the 2 prophets expected, since both were translated and had more of the earthly mission to complete!

Nowhere is the scriptures does it say the two witnesses are individuals/men. It is figurative language.
Also there is no such thing as the LDS church, the Catholic church or Baptist church. There is only the church, the body of believers. As Paul said to the Corinthians, the church is not divided. Cannot be divided into man made division. Wake up. For the time is getting short.
Uh, Jew does not mean Judah, Jew means anyone from the kingdom of Judah which included Judah, Benjamin, part of Levi and parts of the other tribes.
This is why Lehis descendants are Jews even though they are from Manasseh, because they came from the kingdom of Judah.
So the three Nephites absolutely would be considered Jews just not from the tribe of Judah.
Also, this actually works the other way as well, there were Judahites in the northern kingdom who would not be considered Jews because they were from the kingdom of Israel not the kingdom of Judah.
The scripture said "a thousand and two hundred and threescore days" which is 1,260 but that DOES NOT equal 3.5 years 3.5 years is only 910 days
Moses and Elijah are resurrected beings, no longer translated:

I agree that Elijah could be one of the "2 witnesses". Elijah, while a prophet on the earth, was the one who controlled the rain, causing a drought. Rev. 11:6..."These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy:" That certainly could apply to Elijah, as he has already done that.
There is another possibility that you discounted - Moses. No, he is not "Jewish" but there is no prophet they revere more! And look at these words from Rev. 11:6 "and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will." Who turned the water to "blood" and set plagues upon Egypt? Moses. He already did all that just as Elijah already controlled the rain to cause a drought. I think that Moses, who was translated, could be a front runner for the 2nd of the 2 witnesses.
There is an ancient Jewish belief that Elijah and Moses will come back before the Messiah shows up to help save Israel. And can you think of 2 prophets who are more well known and revered by the Jews than Moses and Elijah? They will be preaching as well as protecting. They will be teaching the Jews about Jesus Christ, that He is their Messiah and is returning soon. Jews will listen to them more than John (though he is a Jew, but was a "Christian") and more than apostles/prophets from America (though we do have a good relationship with the Jews in Israel).
Now, this is just my opinion and if I am wrong, it's okay because my testimony is centered in Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Many things will happen in a different way that we think, but this idea has a lot of merit in my mind and heart. So, we shall see what actually happens. And I don't think we have all that long to wait.
The term "Jew" has three separate and major meanings: (1) members of the tribe of Judah, (2) members of tribe of Judah and Benjamin (and their Levites), and (3) any Israelite associated with the Southern Kingdom with capital at Jerusalem. Paul, for example, called himself both a Jew and a Benjaminite. Nephi & Lehi were Manassites who lived in the Kingdom of Judah, thus participating in Jewish culture. Modern "Jews" include tribal Levi, Benjamin, and Judah, or any other source of Jews from anywhere on Earth -- who are citizens of Israel under the Law of Return. Read Romans 11.

does the transgression of desolation of 2,300 days for Israel in Daniel 8:13-15 have anything to do with Israel becoming a new nation in 1948? There is nearly 2,300 years since then. Also, the 2 lamp stands, and two trees are interesting 2 witnesses.... do you remember when Moses and Elijah (these 2 translated beings) were standing right in front of Jesus Christ (Joshua - in Hebrews means salvation) and Peter said, lets make 3 booths (unwittingly making Moses and Elijah equal to the Annointed One) and immediately they disappeared and God the Father said this is my Son (Mathew 17:5), listen to him Moses and Elijah were literally standing in front of the Messiah and one of them would have been on his right and one would have been on his left, literally. is there any connection that these 2 special individuals that have moved water and changed the water to blood (Moses) and sent fire from heaven (Elijah). Elijah also stopped the rain. the 2 special witnesses are to change earthly eliminates - water and fire.... doesn't God use repetitive patterns? if these 2 are translated i guess it would be hard to believe if they are translated they would be killed in the streets, so this is an interesting dilemma. call me crazy, but here is something to think about the WiFi connection over 2K yrs ago was not very good, but somehow, someway Peter and the others immediately recognized Moses and Elijah. Why and How?? Why is it that these (2) are specifically mentioned, and if they are literally standing in front of the Messiah AND immediately recognized without WiFi or a Google connection that they were recognized?? and Why did the Annointed One say not mention it until later, after the resurrection?? This specific incident is very interesting to say the least that 2 people who've been gone for generations are instantly recognized by Peter and the others. How is that possible? Unless the veil was removed for them to be a witness of TWO personages specifically standing right in infront of and on the right and on the left of the Light (Messiah) of the world.
According to information from John Whitmer, Joseph Smith taught that John was among the lost 10 tribes for his ministry: "...the spirit of the Lord fell upon Joseph in an unusual manner, and he prophesied that John the Revelator was then among the ten tribes of Israel who had been led away...to prepare them for their return from their long dispersion, to again possess the land of their fathers." (H of C 1:176) From this history, it seems that John's mission is to the lost 10 tribes, and NOT to latter-day Jerusalem.
I know this is old, but I’d be interested in an investigation regarding the purpose of translated beings (vs resurrected beings) in relation to the second coming. I have a difficult time believing these people don’t have an important role in preparing us for that event, so having two such beings (per the original video) being these two witnesses makes sense. (Mr. McKonkie has a lot of respect, but he wasn’t a prophet, so I can’t say he passes the core tenants of Mr. Prince’s authority tests.) I’d like such a discussion to also address why we are OK to know the names of all translated being but NOT the Three Nephites. What is so special about their role that their names had to be hidden? And what will be the involvement of Alma and the Three Nephites in preparing Zion in this land? 🤔 Topics to consider for future videos. Thanks for all your efforts!

Normally I am at the forefront of speculation, but in this case, if D&C 77 is exactly correct, it states that the two will be raised up to the Jewish nation in the last days So, if that is the case, it would not be someone like Enoch , who was not raised up to the Jewish nation at all, or Elijah was was not raised up the the Jewish nation after the gathering in the last days, and besides, they were probably resurrected st the time of Christ's resurrection. John the revelator was also not raised up to this nation in the last days, and many prophets and apostles in the church, if not all, are not raised up to the Jewish nation at all, I personally believe that these two will be born in Israel, become members of the church with priesthood authority and are given, because of their worthiness great priesthood power to work these wonders in their native land, just as Joseph Smith was raised up in America to do his great work.
Our God is not a god of confusion.
He would fully express who is witnesses are,,,,, so there is no confusion.
Isaiah 43:10 "You are my witnesses," declares the Lord, "and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am He.

You are my witnesses," declares the Lord, "that I am God.
God, in this passage is referring to Israel and Judah.
If you read Isaiah you will find copious amount of information about who the two witnesses are.
Being Israel and Judah, that would explain the two olive trees and two lampstands.
Olive trees are two nations (Israel and Judah) and lampstands are two churches (Jewish and non-Jewish/Gentile.)
I believe that the Two Witnesses are probably the manifestation of the Old and New Testaments.
Fire out of their mouths strongly suggests the Word of God. Jesus is the Word of God, and He was slain in Jerusalem and was dead for 3 days and nights. And these two will also be slain in Jerusalem and be dead for that long. And like Jesus, they will be risen from the dead and taken back to heaven. Also, Jesus' ministry and their ministry is three and a half years.
Revelation 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
Zechariah 4:11 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?

Speculating about their identity is incredibly boring. It is irrelevant. Have you studied about the building of the Jewish Temple in the time when the witnesses guard Israel? I think the only time the anti-Christ could enter that temple is during the narrow 3 day period when the witnesses are unable to protect it and immediately prior to the Lord’s coming to the Mt of Olives. Why don’t you talk about something like that? This would really enhance our understanding of the events of the last days. Who they are is not important. What they do is important. Thanks.
Were any of the three Nephites granted the sealing power? If so, since they belong to Manesseh, couldn't one of them be one of the witnesses while John acts as the other (fitting into the Northern and Southern kingdom motif) ? This would also work in tandem wth the symbolism of the stick of Judah and Joseph coming together to prepare the way for the Lord? Just a thought.

Who wrote Thessalonians? In chapter 4 someone is speaking to us that is a translated being that remains alive until his coming also. Translated being can die but can they be killed? According to the three Nephites that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Translated beans have not died and they have been given the power to continue the work and never die and being spirit form at the same time like the three Nephites and others that has been taken up without tasted death. They are not Resurrected beings. The translated beans were chosen before the world was to help further along the Gathering of Israel. They can move around at the speed of thought just like any other spirit when you were doing the Lord's work only. In mortality your Limited until you're translated. Everyone will not be chosen. Death is not to be feared. Death is a pleasant move between this life and the next, unless you're a Wicked person, then you have a right to fear death.

Eh... not sure I'd discount Bruce McConkie's statement about them being prophets from our Church. In my own reading of Revelation 77, I notice it says they are raised up to the Jewish nation, not from the Jewish nation. I know this all theory, but it seems like the wrong move to ignore very specific clarifying words in order to go in a completely different direction. Still, I appreciate the amount of effort gone into this video.
“Raised up” means “from”.
Also, McConkie was wrong many times. Prophets are gods. They are just like rest of us.
I thought when we have questions about things of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ we are to pray and ask for the answer. So then we can learn what truth is. Spend more time on our knees instead of the internet. Sure we have Internet and UA-cam to watch talks and educate ourselves in the scriptures on our phones.
I have a question regarding their sackcloth. It symbolizes repentance. Why would these old men of God need to repent? All speculation but they may had to go undercover to stir public attention or someone new.

Sorry but that makes sense to me. If the two are Elijah and john they must be in the quorum.
As much as I love Elder McConkie's teachings, on this subject I also believe that it is his opinion about the Two Witnesses. The First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve are fully engaged in the day to day running of the Church and you couldn't imagine that they could be spared to proselyte in Israel l in the conditions they will have to work for three years. ( but you never know)
Also history has shown time and time again the Lord raises up prophets that appear from nowhere to voice the warnings to the people. Around 66AD a simple farmer Yeshua ben Annanias (Joshua or Jesus son of Annas- apparently a relative of the High Priest) suddenly popped up and starting wailing around the Temple warning of the upcoming destruction of the city and temple.
At the time Jerusalem was enjoying a very prosperous time and I think this sudden appearance of a doomsday prophet was not taken too well by the populace.
Now at the time, according to what I can gather, there were no Apostles in Jerusalem at the time. In fact maybe not even in Israel.
They appear to be proselyting elsewhere throughout the Empire.
So looking back at Bible and Book of Mormon history, God has used unknown people to suddenly arrive and preach His warnings. You would have to consider that he will do it again. He also seems to have His witnesses to complete just the one task. John the Baptist came out the wilderness and did his task and was moved on. Like Samuel the Lamanite and Abinadi and all the others. That's why I can't see the Apostle John or any of the three Nephite Apostles being involved as they already have their assignments So I believe that two witnesses will appear from nowhere, not known to the Church at large and commence the Lord's work in Israel. But again you never know i could be wrong on all of this.
His name wasn't Hebrew, it was Greek. It would have been Joshua if it were Hebrew, as the Septuagint proves.
