Very Interesting, I work as a film scanning technician & digital colourist. I also run a small transfer company and way back in 2010 bought a 8mm Sniper HD. The sound never worked properly as It would never sync with the video file and the sync pulse would sometimes take time to appear after starting the capture. This was way back and it did seem to settle down. Fast forward to 2020 and the computer I was running died. Actually I did at one point upgrade my operating system from Vista to Windows 7 but the capture software would not run correctly. The sync pulses would not record right. I went back to vista and all was well again. After the PC died I have had a new pc built with Windows 7 and again the sync pulses are a problem and the Velocity capture software crashes. I seem to get about a minute of stable pulses then the picture starts to freeze and the pulses go haywire. So lots of pick ups and swearing. The captures process fine and the results are as good as ever it just takes so long. So for me Vista ok and Windows 7 not ok. Do you have any ideas?
The motor should have some detail on it. Best to try and locate model information on the motor itself if that is the definate cause. . I have no Experience on that model. Moviestuff normally uses custom parts from US suppliers. Hope that helps. Thanks.
I never got on with my Intensity shuttle as it was fussy with the USB 3 connection so changed it for Decklink Studio 4K and Decklink mini recorder 4K cards@@avtransfersUK

Hi. I have a sniper hd 8mm wich uses the gaf ancovision projector and it sounds like the motor is worn. Is it replacable?

Did the new computer power supply resolve the issue with the Intensity card or did you end up using another capture device?
I ended up switching to intensity shuttle which uses usb 3 but basically same specifications 👍

Nice one. I also grabbed a 4k intensity. More goodies to figure out. 👍
