To be very precise about Vegan Silk..It doesn't exist at all.. The Worms need cocoons to grow in..They build it not just to protect themselves from the Predators but it is essential for their Health.. For more clear Idea, Breaking egg just to help the bird while it is hatching out of it...only makes the beards weaker.. The Scientific Reasoning behind this is When the birds hatch out of eggs they put whole of their energy to spread their wings..And break the egg ..Which in turn leads to complete flow of blood in to the wings and making them strong.. Now you must be wondering what does this all has to do with a worm ?? Ans: The worm turns into a moth and premature breaking of Cocoon only makes the Worm Weaker and thus making a weaker Moth that won't be able to fly.. Just imagine of premature delivery of a child.. A child need it's womb ..the Artificial Box is just a support System and not the Perfect Substitute. Don't Steal away the wombs of Worms 🙏🏼 Avoid Silk 🙏🏼

We should just focus on the 'necessity' rather than finding vegan alternatives to every single non- vegan product. If we ask ourselves a question that Is silk necessary? So the answer is 'No, clothes are the necessity for society not the kind of material used in clothes'. So we should just be minimalistic and use the products which we need for survival.
That’s seeing things from your own perspective only. Technically even clothes aren’t necessary. Textile is a huge business and affording vegan ones to people who need vegan fabrics (yes, like designers) for their work or anything that requires the same criteria and still SUSTAINABLE is great
@@Y.HAJ. I wrote cloth is a necessity for society and yes, technically it is a societal necessity... And the second thing, I belong from surat (the hub of textile). My whole family including me is in the business of clothes. So no one is craving for silk clothes now, the market has changed and it is better to put them off the table rather than dwell on them. As an example, you can see there are plenty of artificial options in leather out there in market. But still, people are buying animal skin in the name of "original". So it is never about alternatives, it's always about awareness first.
@@abhirmittal8965 I’m a fashion designer myself ( in couture, not wholesale), and I insisted on sustainable alternatives because a lot of alternatives are just of cheap quality, not sustainable or simply very hard to find. And yeah a designer does crave materials when he’s in couture and not commercial side, so that he can have the result he wants according to the croquis he imagined and drew

It's a good alternative, but I wonder how the larvae survive after taking them out of the cocoons!!!! It would be great if some one shine some light on this🤔
its great, but i heard that later they kill and eat the worm. its sad to know that. but then if the worm is saved and cared for, then the whole process is worth it
Well this is not Vegan. Vegan means not at all using the animals therefore not making them suffer, animals are free, we can't control them solely for our own use.. In this Silk the harm done is less but there is still harm, you're extracting the cocoon manually disturbing the natural cycle of the caterpillar and causing the suffering. Secondly, you're not letting the caterpillar turned butterfly to fly freely, you're keeping them so that it lay more eggs and more cocoon, this is not at all Vegan. Stop using the title vegan for attracting views, you should have titled it- Silk without killing the worms!
But if you take the worm out every time it spins the cocoon, how will it grow into a silk moth?! Also if it matures till it becomes a moth in the coccoon.. the coccoon gets discolored affecting the silk's quality... will it not affect the business?

I absolutely love your channel and the efforts you guys put in making content.
