"how many moons can *YOU* get without jumping" 999. My save file from my first playthrough is at 999 moons, and I only recall playing the game while sitting down. At no point did my body leave the ground. Therefore, I got the maximum number of moons in the game without jumping. I didn't even have to make mario do all this crazy stuff.
When you're confused if it should count as "morning" because you have a horrible sleep schedule and haven't gone to sleep despite it being past 6 AM...
Crazy idea for how to get the traditional festival moon. This most likely isn't gonna work but there's a warp glitch in one of the levels in dark side that warps you to the metro kingdom, which makes me wonder what will happen if you do this glitch while the festival is going on.
Probably wrap to the kingdom with the festival going on, not in the festival. But you never know until you try. You also need to keep in mind that that glitch needs to be done jumpless.
This idea is interesting, but to my knowledge, the festival is a glorified cutscene, meaning you can't leave the kingdom while it's going on. You would need to warp out of the festival, into the dark side and then warp back to metro. Even then, the festival will probably have been stopped because you left the area, meaning you would be warped to normal day metro. My reason for thinking the festival would be cancelled is because you can replay it, meaning it is some sort of "event", which would likely be reset upon entering or leaving the kingdom, just like killing enemies, getting coins from already collected moons, etc... It might not even take place in the real metro kingdom, for all I know. But who knows? Maybe something crazy can be done to get the festival moon.
I don't think this will work because in order for the festival to start you need to talk to an NPC and they will ask you if you are ready for the festival to start. If you say yes when the festival starts you will be teleported to outside the Odyssey. If you leave the kingdom during the festival I think the festival will stop until you activate it again. I have never gone to Metro Kingdom by the way so I'm not 100% sure about this.
This was tested, but what happens is it takes you straight to the Odyssey. If the exit point for an area is not present, (like how the exit to the subarea is not present during the festival) a failsafe is used which sends Mario to the Odyssey instead.

Don't know if you heard, but the guy who found moon 801 just found an 802nd moon, in the invisible poison room in the darker side (I believe?). The one in the treasure chest still seems to be locked, but the main moon was gotten legit
Wow, I’ve been here since hyrule myths, and I have watched nearly every vgmyths since with the no jump Mario odyssey videos being my favorite. I even went ahead and did the challenge myself my first try and got around 200 moons. When you showed the sand kingdom when talking about the something important enough to make a video about, I got so happy when I realized sand kingdom was actually possible. I’m going to head back to my save and try to get those 801 moons, but I’m not good at games so I’ll probably not be the first. It won’t keep me from trying though.
So if I understand this correctly (based on reviewing the old video), the 80 moons still unobtainable while doing a jumpless run are: * 16 in 2-D sections (still no method to reach them) * All the moons locked behind the Metro Kingdom's Festival (39) * Taking Notes - Spinning Athletics moon (still have no way to grab the moon once spawned) * Two Vanishing Road moons (just not enough time to get them jumpless with current techniques) * Two Invisible Road moons (no method to reach either of them) * Nine Toadette moons * 11 other "odds and ends" moons scattered across the various kingdoms

is it "you cant break any objects" or "noone can break objects" if its the first one.. thats easy.. get a Enemy to destroy them for you if there is a risk at destroying them yourself, if its the later one.. not without some major glitches as there are several boss fights that have Objects in them that WILL be destroyed during it without much chance
@@weberman173 we are guests in lothric, so I made some rules (yea I am curently doing this): I can't destroy objects or fake walls, if I do, ill have to reload the area. No enemy can destroy objects or fake walls, if it happens I'll have to reload the area. An enemy CAN destroy objects if it wasn't influenced by me (someone bumping into something and attacking it is not my fault, while autotrigger enemys who haven't technically seen me are still my fault because they only attack when I'm too close. As object counts : everything that is breakable like pots, chairs, tables... But also the floor in the cursed greatwood boss fight (yea that's banned), the bridge in carthus and ariandel and the window at the start of the ringed city. The only exceptions I made for myself are small objects in bossfights (twinprinces, dancer and pontiff are not happening otherwise) and the stairs before the twinprinces (I'm not even shure if they are possible)

Barely yes. It seems like there's only 2 stages (3 post patch) which definitely requires it, and 1 stage that might potentially be doable without with a lot of luck. Though some other stages also requires a good amount of luck for dashless too. is it "you cant break any objects" or "noone can break objects" if its the first one.. thats easy.. get a Enemy to destroy them for you if there is a risk at destroying them yourself, if its the later one.. not without some major glitches as there are several boss fights that have Objects in them that WILL be destroyed during it without much chance
@@weberman173 we are guests in lothric, so I made some rules (yea I am curently doing this):
I can't destroy objects or fake walls, if I do, ill have to reload the area.
No enemy can destroy objects or fake walls, if it happens I'll have to reload the area. An enemy CAN destroy objects if it wasn't influenced by me (someone bumping into something and attacking it is not my fault, while autotrigger enemys who haven't technically seen me are still my fault because they only attack when I'm too close.
As object counts : everything that is breakable like pots, chairs, tables... But also the floor in the cursed greatwood boss fight (yea that's banned), the bridge in carthus and ariandel and the window at the start of the ringed city.
The only exceptions I made for myself are small objects in bossfights (twinprinces, dancer and pontiff are not happening otherwise)
and the stairs before the twinprinces (I'm not even shure if they are possible)
The new maximum jumpless moon total is 800

Only issue is that several stages would require a LOT of damage boosting, and also probably only possible in easy mode and/or multiplayer.

I did it myself, barely any stages required assist mode in my experience (though that’s because I’m bad at video games)
Barely yes. It seems like there's only 2 stages (3 post patch) which definitely requires it, and 1 stage that might potentially be doable without with a lot of luck. Though some other stages also requires a good amount of luck for dashless too.
The stages being Spectra (all walls), Try This (walls in first part, exploit to bypass said walls patched), Close to Me (gears), and Final Boss (really hard do not recommend, but someone did manage it)

I have a new challenge for Super Mario Odyssey I’ve been running. I’m trying to complete the game with ZERO story moons. Sounds impossible Ik but I watched your video about the game’s flaw and how worthless the moons are and got the idea for the run. I would love for you to attempt it too!!
I did an Odyssey run without touching any water. It's pretty much normal except for Lake and Seaside, which is where some real tricks had to be used.
From my understanding, 0 story Moons is impossible thanks to at least Cap Kingdom, Ruined Kingdom, and Bowser's Kingdom.
