It wasn't a complaint but a question to the audience because I am never sure if it is me and my technical ineptness or my computer's speakers possibly dying. But thanks for being butt hurt on behalf of Kathleen.

My first well paid job was as a long distance operator for Michigan Bell. I went to the west coast in 1978 and worked various jobs for “the phone company”. Retiring in Dec 2020. It was a union job with decent benefits. That is long gone.

Raising hand here in North Carolina, I was a telephone operator in the 80's. Night shift was the worst, that's when the bored drunk people (mostly men, just sayin) would call and make being polite very challenging. 😁

My Mom was a Long Distance Operator in 1947...she resigned and raised 4 children..went back in 1968 and worked until she was 69 and retired in 1997. She loved her job and was very proud of her accomplishments. AT&T was a very good company to work for in the day. She had excellent benefits and retired quite well.
Did anyone else have an issue with the sound? I had the volume on the video and my computer turned up all the way, and I could still barely hear Kathleen.

I'm waiting for one of the state legislatures to say that everyone --- women and men alike -- can bare their arms. Tank tops for everyone, lol.
i think i can clarify about the dress code rule! we used to have the same rule about not wearing sleeveless (and not that long ago, either). it's not about the bare arms--it's because sometimes, looking from the side, the arm hole may gap and allow you to see a bra strap or side boob. Whatever. Still ridiculous, but that's why they had the rule. (They also told us the actual percentage of foot that could show when you wore sandals!)

I was an AT&T telephone operator in the late 70’s . We could be married. We had en electronic console that we worked at … no cords!
I worked in a department store and they had a dress code for woman AND men - nothing sleeveless. I was told it's because some women do not shave their underarms and the store was not allowed to tell them they had to shave, so the no sleeveless policy was to cover up the underarm hair. Might explain the new Congress policy - their mistake was to single out woman!

It’s so sad that Britney hasn’t had a normal enough life to know how to behave in public. She went from super pampered and treated like the world owed her more in life to being kept on a tight leash or hidden behind locked doors.

I worked a PT weekend job answering calls at a hospital. Here are some of the calls I'd get : "What's the LOCAL time?" (as if I'd quote them the time in the Yukon);
"What time does the Wave Pool open?" (my response was, Sorry but I work 7 days/week I have no time for the Wave Pool);
"What's that place where you walk thru a brain?" (I was at a loss on how to answer this one);
My personal favorite:
Caller (male): "do you have the morning after pill?"
ME: You DO know you've called a Catholic hospital?
Caller: Huh??? We'll do you have it?
At this point, the devil on my shoulder wanted to say, "If you'd kept your pecker in your pants last night, you wouldn't be making this call. But alas, I'd say, "You should probably call another NON-CATHOLIC hospital.

They said her estate costs $13,000 a month in upkeep, according to cash statements from Holmes.

In a court document filed on Thursday, government lawyers said Holmes had lived on the estate for more than a year. They said the estate costs more than $13,000 to maintain each month, according to cash flow statements Holmes has given to the US probation office, per the document, reviewed by Insider.
After being found guilty of four fraud-related charges, Holmes in November was sentenced to 11.25 years in prison. She appealed her conviction in early December, according to court filings.
Holmes "continues to show no remorse to her victims," the prosecutors said in the document.
Under the justice system, criminal defendants should begin serving their custodial sentence, the prosecutors said in the document. But Holmes wants to relax her travel restrictions due to "vague references" to her partner Billy Evans's work schedule, they added in the document.
Holmes has listed Evans's salary as $0, but has also said that he paid the bills every month, the prosecutors said in the document.
"There are not two systems of justice - one for the wealthy and one for the poor - there is one criminal justice system in this country," they wrote in the document.
The prosecutors said it was time for Holmes to "answer for her crimes committed nearly a decade ago" and "begin serving the term of imprisonment imposed by this Court," per the document.
Holmes, who was depicted in the Hulu drama "The Dropout," which starred Amanda Seyfried, dropped out of Stanford at 19 to start her blood-testing startup Theranos and grew its value to $9 billion. She's expected to report to prison on April 27, 2023.
