Norden Mfg 1834 Hay Accumulator

- The 1834 is a 18 bale accumulator that arranges the bales on edge 6 wide and 3 long. This is the largest group size and allows for the most efficiency in handling small square bales. This video was taken in the London, ON area. Special thanks to the O'Shea farm. www.nordenmfg.com
Norden Mfg was previously Kuhns Mfg but the company renamed itself in 2022 to reduce confusion with another farm equipment company.

The man who invented this gatherer should get an award. With only gravity and balance pieces the whole this works like a dream. No fancy electronics or hydraulics.
Thanks for the upload.
Take care.

Very smart & simple design. ingenious.
Wish I had this at work!! FUKING AWESOME!!!
that's like playing PLINKO on "The Price is Right" !!
What an idea
Let’s see that 18 bale grapple system in action and loading into a van trailer
it's like giant Plinko on the price is right. Awesome piece of machinery. looks very productive.
Amazing
nice video
i rarly saw balls like this in schwaben
greetings from bavaria
I love this
The second to last bale moves the release lever into the bale path. Watch the centre row lever from frame 2:34 onwards. First bale passes it, second brings the release lever into play and the final bale activates the release..
fabulous but can you drive it on the road?
nice video and great tool but how does it know that it has to release the bales after the last one gets into?
this is awsome i have never seen a 6 bail layer before i want one much easier then taking your truck and stacking them yourself by hand
one day this will be mine!
How does it do on road ditches? It looks like it would be top heavy
The accumulator carries its load pretty low and the center of gravity is pretty low already so it is actually quite stable on side hills. DLH did a video about this if you want a third party opinion on it.
It is simply fantastic the amish service. I always understood that the Amish refuse to use motorized equipment in their crops, but in this case is sine used a machine to tie the bales of hay. Is this right? , and...
Ich finde dieses System als das Beste. Weil ohne mechanichen Antrieb.
my boss has the 10 bale accumulator and we had to get the bales out to take it across their creek to another field and when they got the thing to release the peice that goes up when it releases the bales (on the left side) just about socked me in the head it was a close call
خیلی جالب بود
Nice! What's that liquid tank on the baler?
Salmo Jack its a chemical product that costs 50 cents per bale to keep the bale from growing mold in it in the barn. So most farmers wait to bale their hay when the moisture content is just right.
no PTO needed?
18 bales ? Just like that! - where were the Marketing Ppl and European Machinery Journos all this t ime - never seen nor heard of this type of accumulator before..... Still maintain that a good fast small baler with a good system collector will beat or at least give a Large swuare baler and certainly the round Balers a really good run for their money! Less Hp. required as well -the Big Square boys certainly have some great outputs - but whadda u du with thesegiant sollid bloocks of hay or usually straw, over here?
Thanks for the time taken to post
do you have to double the windrow to clear the bale clusters
The windrow spaces look huge.
if line of gras are closer?
how much compare to sledge ????
I want one and I'm not even a farmer. :)
Clever machine. Do the bales drop automatically when full or does the operator trigger them to release?
It looks automatic.
finster101 it looks like its pressure plate system that realesse the majestic bales into the wilderness lol and determined on weight of the final bale in sequence with the system
It seems a little silly that its got such a pitch, the ones i've used simply drag along the ground. using friction rather than gravity to move the bales to the bottom of the thingy...
We have used a Netherex accumulator and grapple since 2002, the type that drags bales on the ground. Yes, when it works flawlessly, it's a great tool, but when it jams, it is a pain to clear out. Also dirt, trash and driving on windrows and plugging are issues, the latter if you have to move over due to irregular shaped fields.
Also dragging plastic twine on (abrasive) sandy ground will cut the twine and then you have a real mess.
The elevated table on tbe Kuhns is a much-anticipated improvement. Ours wiill arrive within two weeks. 😉
Very interesting . . . But why would you waste time leaving them in the field and picking them up later. Usa an auto stacker that'll pick up the bales and then you can take them to the barn. Hats off to the guy who made this though, very unique.
plinko?
That's the job now @thetarastud
obnoxiously large and awkwardly up in the air. Cannot be good on the bailer by having it to force a line of bales up that high.
The bailer doesn't care.
@96f250diesel
for the baler.....
gseht sehr eifach gmacht us. funktional uf jede fall.
zajebiste
Just thinking of trying to keep up with that baler standing on a rack (like the old days)....uggghhh..!!
I'll stick to the stack wagon.
I'm a pinball wizard.
I will probably get a accumulator so it don't burn too much fuel
lets see it work on hill
Won’t work on hills
We have many accumulators working on quite steep hills. DLH Farms did a video about it if you care to look.
